I have one in the stash I've been thinking about taking a run at since I now have a can of Tamiya racing white that's pretty close to Ford Wimbledon white to use on it.
I have one in the stash, Lindberg, and have thought about making a Shelby like R version out of it. Otherwise I will just let it keep sleeping in storage.

Cool, my wallet needed a rest after the holidays!
Those Mustang and Cougar II kits are Swap Meet table Herpes! You just can't get rid of them! LOL!

The MPC Winged Express has perfect early Skinnies. Revell really dropped the ball when it made the Willy's Gassers with those Street looking tires up front.

I need to find out why my LHS has it for just $16 bucks

If you thought Orange Crate was bad you should try this one...it's even worse.
This is a modified version of the Orange Crate and I bought one as a teenager back in the late 70's as I thought it looked cool, I didn't know it was based on the Orange Crate then tho'...started to build it, the chassis and drive train is the same as the "Crate" but the body was supposed to sit on the chassis permanent and had a floor so it was not flip up body and the front fenders was added, nothing fitted like it should so I finally gave up on it...the only kit that has beat me so far. This is a couple other versions of the kit.
I do have a couple of the Orange Crate reissues from 1999, my modeling skills has improved some over the years and I will give it a go some time in the future.Yes! The blue Chopped Deuce! LOL! My uncle gave it to me as a Christmas present and it was the worst thing I ever tried to assemble up that point. Never finished it either! LOL!
I should take another wack at it as well.

Wood?
And if I remember correctly, the only plastic is the wheels.
Like my old friend Skip used to say, it comes with wheels and permission to build it!

If I were to have a realistic hope, it would be that this "new" Johan would simply concentrate on new-design 3D resin kits of subjects that would be known to be in classic Johan's wheelhouse. If we look at Javelins or Comets or Toronados along the lines of the Iceman Vector W8 or the USCP Citroen SM, granted with corresponding price tags, that would be a good way to bring the Johan name into the 21st century rather than attempting to be another Round 2.
I hit the Like 👍
I wish them much success and I do hope they make some cool stuff, and yes, something fresh would be nice. There have been plenty of resurrections lately, which is great, but a fully detailed vintage kit would be nice. But I am sure they are still quite a bit out from something like that happening.

I hate to be the wet blanket, but, it seems to me that the resources to clone vintage kits is not there. Sure, they hopefully make some money on their current projects, but a whole new tooling of say, a Road Runner or Cadillac? Very doubtful.
Using the JoHan name is tugging at heartstrings and desires of builders and collectors, but I sadly do not see much from this.
Maybe they should have named it "All the Rare Kits You Wanted and Wish We Would Do LLC" or something.

Tamiya getting into classic 32 Ford hot rod kits dream!
in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Posted
Tamiya has a worldwide market they have to cater to, and American Hot Rods are not a thing around the world as much as other subjects. American kit makers cater to the U.S. market. With the exception being Revell of Germany, and you will notice that most of their offerings are very Tamiya like.
