  1. The Ramchargers kit is based on the early to mid 60's car and not the latter, longer wheelbase, car that the Young American and Garlits are. I always noticed how the long wheel base Ramchargers car image is used on the instrcutions and the kit is the early chute pack car.
  2. So, which kit is getting "Mongoose" markings? I suspect the Young American / Garlits car
  3. I like leaving kits sealed, it not only makes it look nice, but, it also keeps everything in the box and I know it is a kit I have not started! And trust me, I start lots of stuff some times! But, I have had to unwrap some kits due to the wrap shrinking and crushing of the box, or the wrapping is so brittle that is is falling apart every time I handle it. Plus I like it when some old kits still have their original price tag!
  4. And who can forget, or who remembers Woolworth. I shopped at this one as a kid, but, they had stopped carrying models because there was a hobby shop a few stores down. Wish I could find a pic of that place
  5. Thanks, Carl! But I must admit, I do get pretty lucky sometimes
  6. Some scores from this past weekends IMPS Show and Swap. Scored the Bulldozer from someone who won it in the raffle and didn't care for it. Offered $20 and he said ok!
  7. That one is for the Monogram Chevy Luv Pick Up. Yet another hard to get and pricey kit.
  8. Convertible would have been the way to go! And yes, landing the Hose Nose was apparently a real hoot!
  9. I know this will probably get moved, but, he was involved with Model Cars and once co owned Prestige Hobbies in Buena Park Rest easy, Goose
  10. Wow! That is super cool! You absolutely nailed it!
  11. Pretty wild, I only missed Rhein II image.
  12. In San Bernardino, CA, Busy Bee Hobbies is calling it quits. I stopped by there a few weekends ago, but they are closed on Sunday. Bummer, would have like to bought one last thing from them.
  13. Ugh! I remember my mom buying me that glue at the grocery store! I was good for making a mess!
  14. Please continue with the vintage Hobby Shop, Contest or even ads pics!
  15. Well, at least you could keep building the model over and over! That lemon smell was the worst!
