I've seen people use fuel tanks as hydraulic tanks, I like the way they look next to the fuel tank. -

I've made a little more progress, paint has been flying due to my new airbrush which I absolutely love! I need a little input, my color choices are out there, I agree, but I'm not sure about my front bumper, should it be white (to match the mixer body) or should it be blue to match the cab and frame? secondly, I was thinking about putting diagonal stripes like I put on the front bumper of my Diamond Reo, on the front of the bumper, and I was gonna put orange stripes on a white bumper, but i'm not sure. any and all suggestions would be appreciated, thanks in advance! -

guitarsam326 replied to guitarsam326's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Well duh Sambo, I guess it would be helpfull if I told everyone where to vote! I can't get the link to come up on my tablet, but you have to have a facebook account, log onto facebook and search HobbyTown headquarters, and the second post I believe is what you click on, then it takes you to the photos of all the contenders. Ill try and get a link up tonight, but you can vote once a day until the 27th of October, thanks again guys! -
Hey guys, I entered my diamond reo logging truck in hobbytowns fall nationwide contest, I didn't recognize anyone's entry from the big rig section anyway, and I would just like to ask anyone that is willing, to vote for my truck as long as you aren't voting for anyone else first, you get the idea, thanks in advance fellas! here's the link!https://www.facebook.com/hobbytownusaheadquarters?sk=app_451684954848385&brandloc=DISABLE&app_data=from-b52gwa%2Cchk-5446d75290a60

Thanks fellas, I hope to have this mammoth done by Nov. 1st for my model club show, but that is yet to be seen. I also tried Terry's suggestion on the front bumper and I think it turned out pretty good, maybe I'll post some pics of it tomorrow. -

ok fellas, I haven't updated in a while because really there isn't anything that's been update worthy, but I'm in the painting stages and i'm working on a scratch built front bumper and I've hit a wall. I like where its going but it needs something. I think it needs some more diamond plate below the tubing or something. maybe you guys have seen something similar to what i'm going for? thanks for the help in advance! -

Truck Kits You've Scored Recently
guitarsam326 replied to Superpeterbilt's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
man terry, you've got a small fortune in those autocar kits, especially coming from ebay! -
Well, since everyone else is sittin on Santa clauses lap, I'll jump up on a knee! I would love to see some air valves like relays, quick release, parking brake, suspension leveling, you know, all the frame mounted stuff. As soon as I sell some stuff on eBay I'm gonna order a couple sets of Bens working glad hands, as good as they look, I know some air valves would look great!

Double-Take Replicas
guitarsam326 replied to KJ790's topic in Truck Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
Just checked out your website and I'm glad to see that someone is making 24.5's I need some for a couple 1:1 projects and hopefully I can order some soon, just one suggestion, I would try to mark all your decal images with sample across them or something so no one can use them without buying them from you. Anyway, hopefully we can do business sometime! -
I just strip the insulation off stranded electrical wire then twist it together, worked great for me!

I am also looking into working with brass, I am building some outside door hinges for a truck and i'm wondering if you guys have had any trouble drilling with micro drill bits?

I have made some progress, doors cut out, front axle now steers, got my floats for the front and the hood is hinged. I also picked up some small piano hinges to hinge the doors with, if it works out the way I want it, also working on a pusher axle.
