Scored some pretty cool built up old Macks! the mixer is pretty rough, but the R model is a decent build and ill probably do some minor tweaking to it and give her some good ol' dirt! The mixer might get traded off , I don't know yet.
I'm lookingninto building a heavy haul or oilfield truck and all I have is 1/25 stuff and I was wondering if the italeri and/or revell frames are generic? And would a 1/24 frame be a good fit with a 1/25 cab to resemble a heavier frame? Thanks in advance guys!
Yes, it does help knowing someone has as much aggravation as I do with these air lines! Is the yellow line telephone wire? The reason I ask is I use telephone wire but it doesn't want to hold its shape without a fight!
You can do it today! I've only been seriously building for two years and its this site that gave me inspiration, along with a lot of great people that are eager to help, I'll answer any question I can for ya!
thanks a lot Dan, I really want to take some outside shots, but with the baby being less than a week old, I don't really have time for ANYTHING! but maybe in a few weeks ill get outside!
all you need for the air lines is a good quality SOLID wire phone cable or an Ethernet cable to get the wires out of, then you can wrap them around some small rod to mimic coiled hoses.
with those five holes up front and the spokes in back, you should just cut up the hood and have a nice lookin 351! (it'll look great anyway, im just partial to the narrow noses!)
Yeah, our Mack granites have the 285 steers, I'm not sure of the wheelbase, but they're tandem dumps with enough room for 2 drop axles and they don't turn worth a dang!
i see dump trucks just like those here in NC, we have some brick trucks with three drop axles in the middle and another on the rear, those things look a mile long and I'm sure they turn like a yacht!
