  1. Just right - nice work!
  2. Yep... I dig it!
  3. I almost took a "big ruler" pic just for you!
  4. The roof line looks pretty "off" to me eye...
  5. I think Bill's right on this one. Still, this is an awesome project!!

Very nice!! I have this kit hiding in the pile, cool to see another one built, and built well.
  7. Thanks guys, definitely happy to have something new off the bench!
  8. Nicely done! And yes, much cleaner look than the Renown version.
  9. Old school Tamiya kit with a few changes. Opened up the scoop on the side of the hood, made new turn signals mounted under the headlights, swapped the VW beetle-like tail lights with a simple round light, added resin MiniLites from Replicas and Miniatures, aluminum gauge bezels, and a few engine details including new carb trumpets made from aluminum tube. Color is Tamiya TS16 with matte aluminum foil on the firewall, floor pan and trans tunnel. Feels good to get something finished!
  10. Sweet! Would love to see a nice, modern kit of the early Pantera
  11. The roll bars on both of these were bent with this method, no crushing or breaking. I left the styrene rod in the Cobra bar, and removed it from the Scarab bar:
  12. Slide some styrene rod into the tube, then pull it out after you've bent it. And go slow as you bend the tube.
  13. Nice!! Rarely see this kit built...
  14. Muslim tradition? The same muslims that cut people's heads off? That murder women and children? That use innocent people as human shields? I could care less about respecting muslim tradition. In fact, I have a sudden urge to go out for some bbq pork to celebrate that muslim meeting his "god", and knowing the last thing he saw was a U.S. Soldier.
  15. Networks reporting Bin Laden killed by US Forces!
  16. Love it!! Nice work on the trunk sponsor too!
  17. You gotta put the camera into manual mode and macro mode to set your f-stop and shutter speed.
  18. You don't need anything fancy to take decent pics. I use a cheap Kodak Z712is: For bench shots, I break out this mini tripod I picked up at a yard sale for a buck: For "studio" shots, I setup the redneck photo studio, a piece of poster paper taped to the kitchen counter, with the Kodak mounted to a full size tripod (crappy phone pic): My camera has the PASM dial, which I set to M for manual mode. I keep the flash off, set the aperture to f-8.0, ISO 100, then adjust the shutter speed to get the exposure value to + or - 3, depending on how the first shot looks. All I'm using for light is the overhead fluorescent lights. Try to frame your shot in camera, and if you can't, frame it with a photoshop fix in mind. The results:
  19. I was wondering of those morons were gonna show up down here. But, given the sheer number of retired military and war vets (my father among them), and the overall decent nature of the folks here, the Westboro bunch would have found themselves in very unfriendly territory.
  20. Pretty sure the fire truck was from the station right there at Hwy 44 and Kensington drive. He's not kidding about the traffic, Hwy44 was brought to a crawl, and U.S. 19 south was turned into a long parking lot. As sad as the occasion is, the sheer number of folks who came out to show their respect for this young man was a sight to see. Godspeed, Cpl. Taylor.
  21. I took two of the Z-16 panels, cut them in half, glued them together and covered it with foil when I made my small block Malibu:
  22. no wax paper, use parchment paper, same stuff you use on cookie sheets. It will not stick as long as you don't get them wet.
  23. To lower the front, there are a couple of bosses on the subframes that can be cut down to drop the front, but you'll have to relocate the steering rack to clear the oil pan, and cut the tops of the struts. For the rear, I ground out the molded in upper link just aft of the trans tunnel, and cut the springs down. To fit the wider rear wheels, I cut the wheel tubs out and ended up leaving the rear shocks off. Initial mockup: In progress: And finished:
