  1. The heck with the photos, all the valuable information that's in this post has literally created me to obtain writers cramp and the need to purchase a new notebook for the work station ha ha. This is by far the post that had my attention from start to finish that I actually read EVERY post in the thread. So privaledged to be obtaining this valuable information from two of the best scale model builders in the World. (Not saying any of you others that posted in this thread are not of same quality as Doc and Donn) just that I haven't had the opportunity to talk with you as I have these two. Will be using Donn's method for the first time starting Monday. Can you say PUMPED and the amount of ideas that are flowing through my head of the What if's ha ha.
  2. Doc: Is this the body you used during your vid on how to use Novus ?
  3. Nice find Martinfan.
  4. Question for someone in regards to the ovens. As long as you have a heat control on the oven why would it matter what heat source your using if its enclosed ? I have a little oven type machine that was bought specifically back when I raced go karts to put the engine block halves from our engines in to cook them to punch the crank seal out. Would that work ?
  5. Any kit picked up for $7 is a good pick up in my opinion. What do you mean a local add ?
  6. Gotcha!!!! Thanks for the info Casey!!!!!
  7. Totally awesome man. I just got them off the one link you provided. Thanks a ton. Thanks to everyone that posted. Ill now do a search for the other one I needed. Ha just made my day dude. Thanks again. Wow it just keeps getting better. Thanks a ton to all of you for all the help. Total savior. Thanks again to EVERYONE.
  8. Am I doing something wrong on this post that I cant view the tutorial ? It seems when I open this post its all a bunch of scripted font or HTML that I cant actually view it
  9. Casey, that was very valuable information. Thanks, and much appreciated.
  10. I was recently told that the Krystal Kleer from Microscale Solutions is like a god for glass. I think Im going to check that out. Hate to waste what I have but I can't stand this stuff.
  11. I recently purchased the White Cement from Testors used to put the glass into kits. I have no luck what so ever with this product. Do you have to prep the glass any special way I may not be aware of ? Could my cement be old and no good ? No reason the amount of cement I used on this last front and back windows that it should be popping out. The back didn't dry clear as well although it was dry. Any info or help would be greatly appreciated.
  12. AMT Kit # 6297 Terry Labonte #5 Kellogs Monte Carlo as well as for 1996 Monogram #87 Burger King Limited Edition 1 of 5,000 Front Row Joe Nemechek. I purchased these kits off Evilbay recently to receive them and unfortunately came (and not noted in the item description ) without instructions on how to assemble the kit. If anyone has either of these two and can send me a PDF or refer me to a website I can obtain these instructions from I would be greatly appreciative of that. Thanks in advance to anyone who may be able to help.
  13. Keep on editing Sir, everyone has already seen the idiot you've made of yourself the past few days.

  15. Absolutely, I learned at a very young age that a parent pressuring you into doing something at a faster pace then you want them too will just push you away from doing it. So I'm letting her go at her own pace, seeing where it will go . Good lord if I get her into this too much I can see a divorce in the near future ha ha. (Just kidding)
  16. Doc your work is just absolutely amazing. Anytime I get down and depressed because I'm not getting the results that Id like to obtain, I just go to your you tube channel, watch videos, see your work and realize that being able to build and produce work like you do is what I'm building to accomplish.
  17. With the few parts that I've stripped chrome from Bleach has worked perfectly for me in a very short amount of time. Then again the only parts Ive stripped were wheels.
  18. Cadalliac Pat, the last thing I'm going to say on here to you is plain and simple. This has nothing to do with our work or how experienced we are or our ability to paint a kit. You would think after all the arguments you get in on this forum that maybe you would sit back and think, Wow maybe I am just too conceited and never wrong and that my ego is through the roof. I could see if it was just one or two people, but the list you mentioned here is just way too big. The only thing from the above mentioned I can come up with is your not a people person or someone I care to continue speaking with from this point forward. So from this point forward this conversation is over. To the rest of the people on this forum I'm sorry Cadalliac Pat had to ruin this post. I apologize to you for him and will ignore him to refrain from any further types of arguments of this nature with any questions I may ask. Thanks to everyone else for your answers and willingness to help the new guy. Pat one last thing, perhaps you should take some lessons from Virgil as hes one of the nicest, most caring guys Ive met in the model building hobby on any of these sites and is more then willing to answer any question asked by anyone. End of discussion.
  19. My daughter is 12 and has put her first snap tite kit together. Was very proud of her for accomplishing that. Five year old son working at a model is just absolutely perfect dude. The more you can do with your children together is just awesome. Something he can now pass down to his son when he has a five year old son. My daughter is ready to move on to the next skill level and has mentioned that she wants too so I told her when she wants to start working on her next model that she needs to come tell me and we will sit down together to pick out the next kit she wants to start putting together. This will require that she paints the model and actually uses glue or cement to assemble the kit. It's went a couple of weeks since shes mentioned anything about anything modeling related or moving on to the next skill level. I'm not pushing her or pressuring her into moving on. I want her to come to me when shes ready. Shes recently seen me working with my airbrush and has developed a great interest in airbrushing. I myself am just getting into airbrushing and am not very experienced at either airbrushing or assembling a kit. So I believe I'm going to get her a Master model airbrush from TCP Global or even a Harbor Freight airbrush model double action airbrush and let her practice with the lessons obtained at www.howtoairbrush.com and see where it takes her. I've gave her the resources that I have online about reading and learning from videos watched on youtube.com to let her learn at her own pace. When she comes to me again we will purchase and start working on her next kit. Its very awesome because we can both learn together. Heck maybe she will learn at a faster pace then I do and she can actually teach me some things ha ha. Its just something that's a lot of fun working with her on and great father daughter time that a family can never get enough of.
  20. Big Daddy now that I figured out whats meant by baffles, that makes sense. The cabinet that I'm going to be using as the spray booth already has something similar in the design already so I'm thinking I'm not going to have many modifications other then mounting the blower motor or fan I decide to use. Will post pics after I get it all figured out and totally built.
  21. Aaronw, Thanks again. I have pretty much figured out what I'm going to do with my design of the spray booth. While its a great concern for many, I know of many people that have used a axial fan with great success. I don't feel I do enough painting to actually cause a threat of fire. Axial fans are about the safest of internal motor fans explosion wise. Its still something that I have to toss around. With the amount of CFM's Ill be having and the amount of painting I do at a time, I feel safe in using a axial fan IF the blower motor I have doesn't work. If and when the time comes I need to re modify my fan in the booth if the funds are available Ill resort to something like you have. Thanks again for the valuable information.
  22. K Pat, thanks for your info you have given. I'm going to stop the discussion with you any further as I don't want to come off at you like SEVERAL other new members have in the past. Its apparent that your a genius and us newbies are all dummies. I have talked with many other "Experienced Veterans" of the hobby on this site and others, that LIKE to answer any questions a new person has instead of making them look like complete fools. So thanks to the "bits of information" you've given me to this point, Ill use this info to the best of my ability to try to achieve a spray booth you would deem appropriate. Remember you were once a new guy to this hobby as well. I sure hope no one else on any of the sites you visited when you started this hobby were as rude and obnoxious to new members as you are to newbies on this forum. Best wishes Sir!!!!!
  23. So I was going to use little baffles around the entire booth to hold my filter and then pegboard, so I want to do the same putting baffles around the entire perimeter of the spray booth on the complete outside, inside the work area after its completely finished ?
  24. I was going to put a filter over the blower motor, then put the peg board on top of the filter.
  25. What do you recommend that I put over the blower motor ? The only post I could find through your six pages history of posts in regards to what I'm looking for is this. http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=56874&st=0 and it explains very little on how your booth is designed or what type of fan your using only that each are 80 CFM. You mention that you have baffles in your booth yet say or show nothing about how to insert them to the booth. I have a cabinet that I would like to make into a booth. It measures a total of 35" tall. It has 4 3/4" legs, then a 9 1/2" storage compartment (which can be knocked out eliminating the tiny lil storage area at the bottom), then 20 3/4" working area. It is 24 1/2" wide and 19" deep. Any and all info on how I can turn this into a airbrush spray booth would be greatly appreciated. Like you mentioned, I'm new to this hobby and want to have every the correct way as well as wanting to build it myself. I wish I knew more about the blower motor I had but I know nothing more then its a Fasco and its a "older" model. Its sat in the garage unused since probably 1980. I'm not opposed to buying new fans I just need to know what I need to get. I'm not opposed to using your design for a spray booth, I just need to know how to build it lol. Perhaps why I'm asking questions in the first place. I'm not here to fight with anyone just looking for suggestions and knowledge which is again the reason for the original post.
