Tires Lugnuts - Beads
hooterville75 replied to hooterville75's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Ive found Hex beads at Michaels but they are in a different format in size. All the sizes I can find are 6/0, 8/0, 10/0, & 11/0. Is there anyplace you can get aftermarket lug nuts that you may know of ? Thanks for explaining the equation for determining size in scale. Much appreciated. -

Did those Wheels come with the lug nuts already on them ? If not, what did you use to obtain the realistic looking lug nuts ? If you used hex beads what size of hex beads did you use ? Also what did you use to make the plug boots ? Thanks in advance for your answers to these questions. Much appreciated. -
Can someone please tell me what size of Hex Beads I should use to make a realistic looking lug nut for on my Nascar wheels for my Nascar kits ? Thanks in advance. Much appreciated.

While working at PHEAA (Pennsylvania Higher Education Assistance Agency) for the state of Pennsylvania, we were instructed to write our notes of every "Customer" we spoke with abbreviated to save space on the server. After getting off the phone, I had mega notes that read something like, Spke 2 brwr n rgrds 2 blnce owd. Cnfrmd addy, # & emplymt. Wl cl bck n 2 dys. LOL. Talk about some misspelled words and grammar errors ha ha. I'm the worst speller in the world and usually can guarantee punctuation errors in every post I make. Thank god the computer I use puts little red lines under any word that is misspelled or not punctuated correctly because being bi polar and OCD I HATE red lines under my words ha ha ha ha. -

Ebay tonight
hooterville75 replied to ReptileGuy's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
So your one of those pay to subscribe to www.bidnapper.com which basically cheats to win a listing on ebay or do you mean you bid in the last few seconds manually and won the listing in the last couple seconds ? It's very frustrating when your an honest person trying to win a auction and have someone using a service like bidnapper (which is against Ebay policies) to win a auction. -
If your referring to the Million Dollar Man Donnie Moran, that's way too much motor for any track he will race at anytime in the very near present and future. I used to do the live race notes for the World of Outlaw Late Model Series on www.dirtvision.com with that being said and attending mega mega races even a 430 is a bit too much motor for a lot of tracks these guys race on. Don't really see the need for all that motor. Would like to have that discussion with Donnie sometime ha ha. Why so much motor ? My uncle owns a big late model team that races locally here in PA and does some traveling with the WoO from time to time and the 430 they have produces too much horsepower to grip the track properly at a lot of the tracks they race at. Good lord a 430 is way too expensive let alone this big bag monster posted in this thread ha ha.

Mikemodeler where do you see me ranting or raving about any post that is posted on this thread ? I was very polite to all involved, took all responses into consideration in regards to making the decision of if I will use a filter or not and thanked everyone for there opinions. I was very well prepared for the responses I got and appreciated all of them. I'm very confused as to where your first paragraph came from. I appreciate the explanation of the filter and its purpose along with the other information you've provided. Thanks again, Ill continue to do a bit more research of the filter and make my decision from there. Thanks again to all who responded to this post. Lets not let this get out of context. Thanks again and enjoy the rest of your weekend. Happy building. -
No splitters or am I missing and not seeing something ? Dont like them myself, so Id be good without them at all

While I respect all answers given to this post I have a few cents to add in regards to the filter. I don't disagree with anything you said Mr. Anderson. While I believe from a liability standpoint there's all truths to your responses. On the other hand I have to agree with that Pat is saying as it would take a whole lot of over spray and dust to ignite a little booth like this. I believe the amount of airflow that Ill have flowing through my spray booth will be way sufficient to cause a fire. I am lucky enough to have my dryer vent vented to a crawl space outside on the ground, under an addition that was built to my house a few years back. My venting is short with maybe seven feet (that's on the larger side) period to the crawl space outside. I feel that I will be safe without going with a filter. I've heard a lot of mixed stories in regards to the filters. I kind of determined that I wouldn't use a filter when I found out that peg board would hurt my airflow in the spray booth if used. I feel if peg board will hurt my airflow then a filter would as well. I want to have the proper airflow going through the spray booth at all times with no interruptions to its performance. I kind of view it like this. Even if I were to use a filter in my spray booth, I feel the amount of over spray or dust that would escape through the filter is minimal enough that a fire would never start. Its the same way I feel as if I don't use a filter the amount of over spray or dust that gets into the vent is minimal enough to not worry about a fire. I hope you can understand how I feel about it all and that I'm not disagreeing with either of your posts and fully understand where both of you are coming from. Thanks again for the responses. I truly appreciate your help. -

This happens for tons of tracks they race at now. I know they build a specific car JUST for Bristol. They build a car specifically for Talladega, whats another race going to hurt ? These owners are made of money and cost is no object to most of the teams. Im game for it let the fun begin -

Very good and thanks to all for commenting. Time to go get busy. My wiring is a nice part of the situation as its only two wires. The twelve volt rail wire and a black ground wire. With the lab bench power supply I've converted from the ATX power supply the wires are identical in color. 12 Volts rail is yellow and the ground is black. Im going to take your suggestion and not use the filter as its an added expense that I don't really feel is needed. Once I have the booth finished, Ill be taking pics to post. Thanks again for the information. Im hoping to have this finished by the end of the weekend. -
What clear coat to save old decals?
hooterville75 replied to Green Duster's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Thank You, being the time of year it is, Ill stick to the two coats of liquid decal film from Microscale. May try the second technique during the summer months though when needed. Thanks again. -
Im finally ready to mount my Blower Motor and finish up the final stages of my Airbrush Spray Booth. I don't know which draft would benefit me more. I have a Bilge Blower Motor that produces 250 CFM's. Would I be able to put the fan at the top of the spray booth in the middle ? The entire blower motor would be outside of the spray booth other then the fan or I could even put a inch or so of the plastic into the booth as well. Or should I put the blower motor in the back of the booth in the middle ? Again with just the fan in the booth or part of the plastic in the booth ? Should I put the blower motor in the side of the booth ? If I need to have an additional blower motor which I do have if needed although its a OLD blower motor (Which does work, tested again today) but don't know the CFM's. I would rather stick to one motor as I dont have the second dryer duct vent. I don't know if its possible to T off the dryer vent I already have or not but if so I could do that that both vents blow out the same place. Would like to work on this tomorrow so any help asap would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance for any help, advice or recommendations.

Thank You Sir. A few of my older Nascar kits have yellowed decals. Will try the two coats process and see how it works. -
Understood. Thanks for the explanations. It all makes sense now. Will mark this on my book of notes for future use should I ever use Liquid Mask from Microscale. Thanks again.

Ok so I'm ready to finish my airbrush spray booth. Everything is built other then positioning the Bilge blower motor I'm using for the exhaust. So to get a downdraft I would want to position the motor on the bottom of the booth ???? To get a cross draft I want to position the blower motor on the side of the booth ? Tis the only part I don't fully understand yet. Which is recommended ? The Bilge blower motor is 250 cfm's. -
What clear coat to save old decals?
hooterville75 replied to Green Duster's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
When you get the Liquid Decal Film, I'm assuming you brush it on the decals directly on the page of decals ten or so minutes before your ready to apply the decals to the body ? OR do you brush the liquid decal film on the decals BEFORE you start anything with the kit ? I guess my question is when do you brush the liquid decal film on the sheet of decals ? -
If you cant remove one coat of the liquid mask, what does putting four layers of it on do for you or make it any easier to remove ? I know nothing about it and am just curious so please don't think I'm being a smart A$$ asking this question. Its an honest question. Thanks for your answer Mate!!!!!

Whats everyones opinion about the Nascar Craftsman Trucks racing on Dirt at Eldora Speedway in 2013 ? Its actually on the schedule already for next season for July 24th or July 25th one of the two. I know Ill be there for sure checking this out. Nascar hasnt ran on Dirt since 1970. This will be the first since then. They actually have a clip of Tony Stewart and Austin Dillon testing the Nascar Craftsman Trucks on Eldora Speedway at www.speed.com
