New You Tube Channel
hooterville75 replied to hooterville75's topic in Links to Aftermarket Suppliers
I know I only have one horriable video up so far but Im working on obtaining a video recorder of alot better quality and have some nice videos and builds coming up n the next month or so. So even though the one and only video I do have posted on my new channel is of poor quality please view the video, like and subscribe to my channel. I promise to make it better in the future with some new and exciting builds. Thanks in advance I greatly appreciate your support of my new you tube channel. -
Would that increase the value of the kit and perhaps be a kit to leave shrink wrapped in the box to hand down from generation to generation in hopes someday being worth a mint ? I know I have a baseball card that has been handed down for generations that has the name misspelled which is worth a pretty penny today.

Hey guys, Im getting comfortable building these Nascar kits now Out of the box, I would like to start detailing them now. Im cherry to detailing and have no clue what all needs done to detail a Nascar Model Kit. Could someone please explain the steps of what all needs done to detail a Nascar kit ? Wires, braided lines, spark plug wires, etc. Anything that you can do to add detail to a Nascar Model Kit. What wires go where, start on this part end of this part etc. Step by step of what all needs done to completely detail a Nascar model kit. Im going to attempt this with one kit. Get all the parts I need to detail it. Build one kit, see how it goes and then determine if I want to continue detailing all my kits or go back to building out of box. I have no clue what all needs done to detail a kit so any and all info would be appreciated. Fittings, lines, wires, EVERYTHING ha ha. Thanks again and look forward to the replys. IF you would rather send me a PM feel free. I answer all PM's I get. Thanks again and enjoy your weekend my fellow styrene friends.

If your using the Model Color paints by Vallejo you must thin those first before spraying with the airbrush. The Model Air Vallejo paints are spray ready right out of the bottle. Im also told that the NEW thinner is a must when spraying out the airbrush that the old thinner is horriable and creates nightmares. With the new thinner its night and day difference. Hope this helps.

why do some people insist on details?
hooterville75 replied to meaneyme's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Its more like to each there own in my opinion. Its all in what "the builder" wants to do or build how they choose too. Hey no harm no foul ya know. -

Video Editing for Dummies
hooterville75 replied to hooterville75's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Thank You Sir. Ill be playing with windows movie maker tomorrow seeing if I can figure this out Today I got Windows Movie Maker and AVS. Dont know or understand a lick about either of em lol. Will play with WMM tomorrow and try to obtain these settings. Thanks tons. -
Does anyone know of any programs or software that is more less a Video Editing prog or software for DUMMIES that dont know a dang thing other then you need to make the entire video more clear and brighter ? I know NOTHING about video editing so it needs to be for DUMM DUMMS. Any help or softwares that would be easily learned by a bit of reading and research would be greatly appreciated. I attempted my first youtube.com video last night and needless to say its G A R B A G E. It looks Perfect while viewing it in Windows Media Player or Real Player but uploaded it to youtube.com twice and its JUNK. It has a green box at the bottom and goes up about halfway through the screen the entire video. Frustration has set in so Ive given up temporarily Thanks in advance.

Very nice build. Tony's my guy as it used to be Ryan Newman but when Newman went to SH Racing I went with em, then my favorite World of Outlaws driver Donny Schatz went to Tony Stewart Racing it was a double no brainer. Got to rooting for him since and he with Newman are my favorite drivers in Nascar. Super job Bruce.

What's the story behind your user name/avatar?
hooterville75 replied to JollySipper's topic in The Off-Topic Lounge
My user name is my nickname Hooter (used to hoot like a hoot owl when I was a baby ha ha), the ville comes from my town of McAlisterville, PA, people in my town used to always say this is Hooters town so everyone started calling me Hooterville and the 75 is my favorite number. I dont have an avatar because I was too lazy to find a photo when I created the name upon registering and havent thought about going back to do it since lol. I need to get around to that here sometime real soon. -
Absolutely Awesome Sir. Thanks tons and much appreciated. Would you care if I sent you a personal message with some additional questions ?

Dr. Cranky's Misguided Youth
hooterville75 replied to Mercman's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
My great great a few more greats Aunt one day told me at the ripe age of 103 that if I never ever remember anything shes ever told me to never ever forget this. "You never get old, you just grow up and I refuse to do that". -
Your totally right and I agree to a point ten years ago. Try that today, get reported and your kids are being taken from you in a minute. Thats whats wrong with todays society they are pampered way too much and lack discipline. Back when I was growing up if I did wrong rest assured I wouldnt do it again. I got A$$ whippens, beltings, etc. Today parents are signing notes being sent home from school that the school cant paddle there children. When I was in high school if I got a paddeling in school when I got home I was getting it twice as hard. The times have changed and so has the method of "discipline". Its a shame but such is the way of life these days. Shove a electronic game consule or electronic of some type in front of them and let them have what they want. When I grew up we were outside playing ball or riding motor bikes working on cars etc. Thats a thing of the past. It kind of reminds me of when I played youth recreational sports. We ran our buts off. We were conditioned, we were taught the fundamentals. We had a winning team. I started coaching my daughters soccer team when she was old enough to play. Coached for five years. We ran, we did conditioning drills. We worked on fundamentals and had a winning team to the point this group of kids only lost four games in five years. Parents started complaining to me. I said listen, this is my team I coach the team if you dont like how its run you come coach the team. Parents went to our board and complained with the director coming to me saying things had to change. I refused to change anything so I stepped down. The team started losing so parents were then coming to me you need to come back these kids are losing all the time. I said nope, Im obviously too old schooled for you so if things cant be my way I have no interest. You just cant do things the way we did twenty years ago. Such a shame but its the way of life these days.

Being I'm within the first four months of being into this hobby and have taken a liking to race cars with Nascar top priority to this point, I know very little about after market, detailing or photo etched parts for the Nascar kits. How or should I say what is the way to find out ALL the after market, detailing, or photo etched parts available for Nascar kits in the scale model hobby ? Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Daf, Is size 15 the actual size of hex beads we need ? Im assuming as its all size 15 on this page you have linked. Useful information Im going to look into. I need some hex beads for my actual nascar kit tires. Going to order some aftermarket lug nuts unless I find a hex bead on this page that will work in the proper size. Thanks again for the info my friend.

Looks good. Like the shade of pink on this last one.

I agree with some of your points but being a step father in a blended family, I've taken several courses in regards to a blended family. Being the step father moving into a family of step children its very very hard. My step daughter respects me most of the time but even at first when I was the new "guy" coming into her life she had problems adapting. I accept her as my own daughter as I knew going in that my wife had a child. First thing the counselor told me as a step father was I should NEVER EVER physically correct her. Its the mothers job to do. That doesn't mean I can let her disrespect me and walk all over me. I can raise my voice at her, give time outs, put in the corner, ground her etc but never ever lay a hand on a step child. Any parent of a biological child shouldn't hit there child to begin with. In the end we came up with the agreement that I will act as her father, treat her as my own daughter but she will never ever call me Dad. You will only ever have ONE DAD. In the end, we are as close as she is with her DAD. Because I was stern, and corrected her as my own but never used force of physical discipline. Taking ipads, and cell phones now days works wonders ha ha. To the originator of this post, I suggest getting the child his own set of tools. You can get a rather inexpensive set of tools at any Harbor Freight. If its model tools that the child wants to go after next, then head to Michaels and Hobby Lobby as they have weekly 40% off coupons which can build a very nice set of tools cheaply in a short period of time. I always stick to the thinking of Where there's a will there's a way when I get frustrated or angry with my step daughter. In my past 15 (have a biological daughter 3 years older then my step daughter), I have found that physically correcting children with but whoopens makes them even worse in the long run. I wish you the best with your situation and hope you can find a method that works well in the end bringing you two closer and with him giving you the respect you deserve. Being in a blended family with counseling on how to deal with situations if I can ever assist you with answering any questions please shoot me a private message Id be happy to help in any way I can.
