  1. First I have heard of this application....what does the baking soda do ? James ... I always try to glue all body parts together before painting. making sure I can get the interior and chassis installed.... looks like your gluing the windows in after painting the body should'nt be a problem.... good luck with your further progress....
  2. I was looking for for just a model car show rules, forgot about this one. all I could find was IPMS rules. I posted from what I thought I knew Yours is excatly what I was looking for..... excelent example... thanks for sharing...!
  3. If we are talking old kits.... bad fitting parts preventing the kit to finish propperly... new kits, there should be no reason for this,,,,! 1 hood not closing 2 windows plus interrior plus chassis not fitting within the body 3 wheels not centered in wheel well openings..... 4 suspension parts that make the model sit impropperly like a Corvette that sits like an off road vehicle fixing these issues adds hours to a build and are frustrating....!! Even more so for the youngsters....!!! 5 molded in chrome headlights
  4. Rules may vary from the group hosting the competition... but generally .... only parts that came in that issue of the kit are allowed.... Paint - baremetal foil - different decals are also allowed .... sanding tires is no different than sanding any other part in the kit , like seams and mold lines, tinting chrome or windows would be part of the painting prosess.... Kit instructions are required to accompany the model in an out of the box catagory.... hope this helps......
  5. I have to agree with you on that point...!!
  6. That's cool.... Sound like a good plan, Hope you enjoy the forum.... looking foreward to seeing your work. I have only built one police car model, but I have a big interest in them.....
  7. Welcome to the forum Christopher...! Curious.... So your just going to make resin pieces to build them for yourself ?
  8. I think that is a good question.... It's a hard choice between Monogram 1/8 Jaguar XK-E Coupe my holy grail kit... And a Gunze Sangyo ( Multi-media) 1/12 1941 Indian Sport Scout.... But I would have to choose the Indian.... It is one of the most awesome kits I have seen ( that I can afford ) .... Cast metal - plastic - photo etched parts. Builds into an awesome model..!
  9. Very well said..! Welcome to the forum Justin...!

  15. Welcome to the forum Ross..! good to hear your back at it.... I have been active in the hobby since '95 but not building so much.... only have finished 3 in the last 11 years ... I just got back at building recently myself
  16. Surprised you didn't put the kitchen sink in there ....you have everything else.... Nice job on your new space !!!
  17. It really bugs me when I cant find things... so I will straighten up when things get a little cluttered..... and only clean up after a build. only leaving the basic essentials on the bench. Everything else goes back on the shelves above the bench. It's an OCD thing....
  18. Nice progress so far..... this one really interests me... will be watching for sure...... IMO... I like the look of the pic of the one you had under the blue and orange pic Sixties Sam posted
  19. Nice job on this one... like your wheel & tire choice...color combo is cool...!
  20. Cool show gasser...! Nice work...!
  21. Pretty cool ...! good you stuck with it ...!
  22. Nice touch on the rear windows...!
  23. Outstanding build...! One of the nicest cleanest well detailed police cars, or any car for that matter..... that I have seen..! scripts look awesome ...I have used that method and know that it's not all that easy to do.... Awesome over all..!!!
  24. 30$ kits don't affect me at all.... I think the price.... the kit manufacturer, (domestic brand or import) ,most are not made in the USA, age of tooling,( new tool or old re-pop) subject , scale, how far you have to drive to get it, or shipping cost. All factor in on what I am willing to buy , or spend on an item. I wouldn't mind spending $30 on a New Revell Ford Bronco, but wouldn't give a re-pop Round two Amt '62 Corvette a second thought at $30. I'm fortunate enough to live in an area where you can, at the right hobby shop sitll get a new Revell Bronco for under $20. And there are enough swap meets , model car shows, fleamarkets, model car club friends and trading on here to satisify my buying interests. I feel for you guys that don't have those options.
  25. IMO ...I'd save the Triumph for a time with no deadline, and finish up the Subaru...! Sambar looks like an interesting project..... all are cool projects... good luck with whatever you choose.
