  1. I built this kit a while ago, liked it very much ! Your engine looks very good with the weathering ! The removed mold lines makes it look far more realistic, good job !! The rest of your work is nice too Thomas
  2. Hi and thanks all ! I´m glad to see this old thread of mine :-) First, the whitewalls was supplied in the kit, it was a very old kit. I remember that the fit was rather bad, the dash was to long so the doors couldn´t be closed properly, biggest problems was the frame, the car is leaning a little to one side. I had to warm up one side of the frame with a lighter just to make it fit at all. There was an issue with the front uprights, don´t remember exactly how it was ... The front has BMF on the side ribs I do remeber it was a tricky build but I like the way it turned out in the end, it´s a great design I think ! Thomas
  3. Hi This kit a built many years ago, recently I built another Porsche 910 so I had this kit for refs. Unfortunatly It fell down to the floor so I had to restore i some way. The other build had aftermarket decals so I could use the decals in the Tamiya box. After repairing and repainting I put on some extra rivets and fasteners in various places. The version I choosed is from Targa Florio 1967, so I also decided to weather it. This job took some weeks this summer and I´m satisfied to have a" new "model rather quickly in my collection :-) Thomas
  4. Hi This is a Tamiya kit with decals from S27. The S27 decals are not totally correct, had to add some decals and make a new rear license plate. I used some detailparts such as rivets, hoses, connectors ,wires and switches. Turnlights and positionlights are scratched.Self adhesive cloth on the seats. Thomas
  5. Hi and thank you all It´s paint on a brush, hold the brush on a distance from the bumper then splash it with your fingertip, easy but try it on something else first . Thomas
  6. Hi This is the Tamiya jäger kit but with Brumos Racing Daytona-77 decals from BBK. I have done some detailing along the way, rivets, bolts ,hoses, braided lines and so on. As you can see I did a weathered car, was a little nervous for that but I think it turned out rather well. Thanks for looking! 7. Hi This kit was built by a friend many years ago, standing on a shelf since then so there was a lot of dust! Now I have tried to clean and restore it. I used decals from S27 for the Argentinian GP of -72. Painted with Tamiya spraycan recomended for this kit, replaced the smaller type of tires to the bigger ones that was used from -72. Also I added rivets, hoses, hosebands ,alurods, valves and some wireing too. The most difficult part was to paint Ceverts helmet ! Long from perfect but it will do. Thomas
  8. Hi I have built this kit a few years ago, the box is gone but I have the manual left but there is nothing in it that can tell us what release date it was. I should guess around 1968-69. This kit is very rare so it could bring you some money :-) Thomas
  9. Hi The braided line is 1,5 or 1,6 mm by Tuner model manufactory ( T2M) , I bought them from hiroboy.com . Some of the prepainted fittings are from" modelers" in scale 1/12, I belive they don´t make them anymore. And thank´s all of you for the nice comments :-) Thomas
  10. Hi This is the Tamiya kit of the French racing icon. I decided to do a version that is on the pictures in the manual but that version can´t be made out of the kit parts ?! This version of the car was used only during the practice for the British GP-68. The car had a much smaller rear wing than usual. So it had to be scratched and also the oilcooler with it´s support mounted on top of the gearbox is scratched, the manual says it shall be placed on top of the oiltank but that is wrong. I had very good help for this conversion from the ModelFactory Hiro manual for theirs 1:20 kit. I used several etched parts , rivets, alutubes, valves , switches and hosebands. The body paint is from Tamiyas spraycan TS11. There is a WIP on another forum: http://www.f1m.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=29&t=18732 Thomas
  11. Hi Yes, the Lotus 72 had this inboard brakes during it,s lifetime 70-75 Thomas
  12. Good work! Looks very nice in this livery, I have built it in 1:12, but the S27 decals is missing some of your logos. Thomas
  13. Nice to see your collection! Your old models still looks very good ! Thomas
  14. Hi Gregg Thanks ! Infact there are four different brands of decals, I used the Tamiya original decals without the JPS logos, they come from Indycals. Unfortunatly they were scratched a little, so I had to do a some touchups there. The #12 decals is from an ACE decal sheet, the glue was nearly gone so it was difficult to make them stick to the surface. And last I had to remake the frontwings, the Tamiya decals wrinkled to much after I used the setting solution!. So the JPS logos on them is from Tabu. All this means that the color match is long from perfect. Thomas
  15. Hi This is the Tamiya kit and I did choose a little different version of Wisells car. In the last race of the season the car had #12 and that was the only time it had that race number, the rollbar was painted black. Also a little extension on the front part of the window. There was also some extensions on the rearwing sideplates. I have used some etched rivets, braided lines with hoseconnectors, hosebands, and some other hoses and wires, The valves on the rims are adjustable :-) Nice stuff I think. I used lead wires for some of the detailing on the back of the dash, on the front I used aftermarket switches. Colour and clear is made by Tamiya spraycans. This car is one of my favourite F1 cars from that era, I´m planning to do two more versions in the furure. See you Thomas
  16. Hi I´m very happy for your nice comments! I ´ve understood that F1 cars is not so common here, so I will show my latest build, a Lotus 72D very soon. Thomas
  17. Hi and thanks all of you! I´m very glad you liked my GT 40 :-) Regarding the carb it´s built up with four pieces, the fittings is connected as told in the manual and from refs. the blue/red parts are extra stuff. I hope I understood your question because my English regarding the technical things is not the best . Thomas
  18. Great job! The shine is very impressive and the work under the hood is super ! ! Thomas
  19. Hi This is Trumpeters kit with decals from BBK, this version finished third in LeMans -66. Also the spare tire is from BBK. I have made some modifications during the build, it´s detailed with mostly etched parts, rivets around the headlights, hoses ,connections and such things. The dymo labels on the dash is made by me in the computer. There are some improvments to be made but I still think it´s a very nice kit. Thomas
  20. Hi and thanks all ! I don´t know what engine it is , not an expert on US cars, but this is some pictures from the build. Thomas
  21. Hi this is Doyushas big Corvette, a very nice kit I think. For the first time I used Chameliont paint in spraycans. The effect is rather cool This changes between purple-green-blue. Under the hood I added some hoses and wires and a suitcase in the car:-) Thomas
  22. Hi This is Fujimis big kit of the Nissan that raced in the Japanese GT series in 1990. The kit itself feels like an upscaled 1/24, plenty of room for detailing. Everything fits perfectly and the decals was wonderful to work with! I did some detailing under the chassi and in the car, most work was done under the hood. Thomas
  23. Hi David A few years ago we were in contact regarding this wheels and model, I must admit that I forgot wich kit they came from, it must be from the chevy -57 or the Camaro 69. I drilled out the centers of the rims, but the they are not correct for this car but they was close enough for me. Thanks for looking :-) Thomas
