  4. Thanks Dave...it will be a load for a 125 ton trailer that I plan to start on soon. I have seen builds that have been converted to R/C....I applaud them for their work!
  5. Excellent job on both builds!
  6. The only other power tool is a band saw I've had for quite a few years. The drill press is a handy and versatile tool. Thank you Ira!
  7. Too many! I counted 53 Sean. The other track still needs to be completed. Purchasing the belt sander for this was money well spent.
  8. The front drive axle is unbelievable...outstanding details! Very well done Alain
  9. This build is nothing short of amazing! Great work Dan
  10. It's a handy tool for a modeler. I paid around 36 bucks for it with a 20% off coupon at Harbor Freight.
  11. Welcome Bryan! You're down the road from me on 395
  12. Thanks Clayton. It's time consuming but I think it's worth the results
  13. I completed modifying one set of tracks from triple to single grouser. The first order of business was to remove the existing grouser bars. This was accomplished with the help of a belt sander: Hosted on Fotki After removing as much stock as possible with the sander, I finished with 80 grit by hand. This picture shows the bars removed: Hosted on Fotki In this picture on the left is a piece of .015” styrene cut to 5/16” X 1-9/16”. this was glued to the top of each shoe to cover any imperfections that sanding did not remove. On the right is what was used for the single grouser bar. It’s .060” X .100” styrene (Evergreen # 155): Hosted on Fotki Here’s the completed track: Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki There’s a lot left to accomplish on this build. I’m waiting on parts to modify the drive sprockets. Once they arrive and are installed, the front and rear idlers will be scratch built along with the track rollers. So for now, panel lines have to be scribed for the hood side panels and modifications to the blade are needed.
  14. It's looking real nice Terry. The airlines and fittings really make it stand out. Thanks for all the detail pics...I want to try doing this also.
