  1. Thats a great idea..specialy for the detail nuts like me. Id gladly order those, never seen anyone else have them..unless you scratch it yourself..and doing that every time is a PITA. Hows the nitrous kits coming along? i cant wait for those.
  2. Go here first http://straightlinemodeler.org/tipsgen.html Use that list of measurements to figure whatsize rod you need from Plastruct. Evergreen doesnt make it sadly. Hex rods come in about 7 sizes or so, you can drill the centers out and add a smaller diameter rod for the studs if you want, or even sewing pins.
  3. Awesome! Il be looking forward to that.. il add it to the list of things i want from you guys... pretty soon il be cranking out some limited street and outlaw cars!
  4. That is GREAT!!!!! time to buy up the bantam blast and wild willie kits
  5. I think revell is basing the skill by parts count, sounds logical atleast
  6. Thats the first one ive seen built! looks awesome! I have been wanting one of these so bad, so i can bash it with a new revell nova, and the amt 442, so i can make a 1973 Omega
  7. I like using Plasti-Kote from Michaels craft store, they got it in white primer
  8. Yep im feeling pretty relaxed, its amazing what Captain Jerry can do with his magic rum, its all good man. I didnnt mean anything by it..
  9. Awesome, i love the teal and white with chrome reverse wheels, cant wait to see it finished, gives me ideas to do mine the same way almost. J Sauber, is there a reason why your sig is that huge? no offence but that is kinda annoying, its to big
  10. I believe the front can be filled with a body drive from the front! like the land speed cars. If you want to keep things intresting you can add a fuel tank to sit with you! (i know the tank is in the very back end)
  11. I agree totally, i wouldnt mind to see reissues of the funny car, dragster and prostocks, even if they didnt come with the trademark decals. Id also love to see the reissue of the Prostreet kits from the 80's like the lincoln lsc, pontiac 2000? (i forget the name) Beretta etc..
  12. Jairus replied to your other thread you made http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=7744
  13. Awesome buildup Jairus and Robin. I have a few mockups myself, mainly influenced by the folks at www.jalopyjournal.com Il post them sometime. Say what kit are those chrome ansen 5 slot wheels from?
  14. I use that prduct myself, only i let the paint harden into chunky rocks, then let it sit in the solution, i then let the solution evaporatetill very little is left and use that solution as a concentrated rust for water marks etc. the rocks that were rusted from sitting in the solution are filed down into a powder, from there i can sprinkle it anywhere i want rather than using the paint, to me, its much more realistic, but thats just my opinion One thing i do wanna try is spraying the iron paint in a OLD airbrush, thinned down, to get a nice even coat, shoot il even strain the paint to get the chunks out
  15. laquer thinner and dullcoat in the bottle by testors. grab a metal dish, something small, and just brush 1 dab of thinner and 1 dab of dullcoat, sometimes 2, you need to play with it to see whats right for you, but it doesnt affect paint that much, besides it covers up by the rust anyways, i paint the spots i want coated, then fold a piece of paper and scoop some rust and cover the area completly, then dust it off and let it dry a bit, you can coat it with the same mixture (1 dab each this time) and it should affect the rust highlights at all. make sure you dust it off ina container to reuse the particles.
  16. Ive tried the air tank method, it just sucks when you tun out of air! Theres some silent airbrush compressors used for fingernail painting, there in the 400 dollar range i believe

  18. If you have a Dremel, and some firestone tires that come in the 50's 60's car kits (year of the cars not the age of the kits) you can create your own by useing razorblades and files to shave the sidewalls to a much rounder form and shave down the tread, wear eye protection though.
  19. I use Apple Barrel craft paint. Spray or Brush, both have there quirks... when you brush use the dab or dry brush technique, works well, spraying as said before in light coats, it wont crack. I havnt had mine crack when brushing either, just lacquer thinner the tire thats gonna be painted. Removes waxxy look
  20. Have the link where the pic is from? That is such a cool photo, My favorite FX Falcon..
  21. My next camera is gonna be a cannon S2 for 220bucks. S2 is 2 years old i believe, S3 is the newer version of the S2 and is about 290bucks. Not much changed either, just color and screen size. Its a zoom camera with a big lens, Pretty nice for models, you can check it out at the review sites above. that kurt posted. as far as where to buy http://www.buydig.com has the cheapest prices ive seen, but they stock the latest cameras, not many ''old'' models like from 2 years ago.
  22. For small items ive used gasket rtv silicone for use on real cylinder heads. It was red... but theres many different types now.
  23. My local auto paint store sells the cans, and even michaels craft store sells the cans
  24. Looking good snuzz, seen yours on the HAMB yesterday, love the green
