  1. There really hasnt been any new trucks, aside from SUV's.... id get a SUV and chop it in half and use that as the cab.
  2. You can use plain steel wool also.
  3. Ive tried the dark grey sandable primer from dupli.. im not a fan of it, the light grey is much better. But i use plastikote, and im never going back to anything else but tamiya
  4. http://cgi.ebay.com/Pro-Street-American-Mo...1QQcmdZViewItem Thats the only inexspensive one i know of
  5. Outstanding scratch work, i dig that skid plate. Stick with it, il be watching 8)
  6. I hope HAWK does get AMT, as Lindberg kits are like AMT's. (quality/flashing.. )
  7. No suspension, its axle through style chassis on the snap duallys. But the kit comes with decent wheels and tires if you can get it for under 20... ifnot then go aftermarket with above links. Use the suspension from the chevy kit your using, it should work fine.
  8. Yes you are a dork for that one, but don't worry about it . You will need your own tires for this though.. but if you want the ultimate in realistic rubber American satco makes bridgestone 1 ton, you would need 2 packages though, unless you got some tall skinny truck wheels in your stash, thats be great. http://cgi.ebay.com/Satco-10013-Bridgeston...VQQcmdZViewItem The resin wheels from 4d were molded from this kit above, so your better off trying to get the kit first. link--> CLICK HERE
  9. The link sends you directly to the dually wheels, i dont see why the confusion. I can tell the difference between latemodel (race cars) and modifieds, so i dont see a need for fred to have 2 different pages.. The only other sources for dually wheels would be ford f350 from monogram, or getting the snap together kits of the dodge or chevy from AMT on ebay or a hobbt shop. id go with freds though 6bucks for 2 reear wheels and 2 fronts..
  10. Radiator sits infront of the flathead, then there will be a styrene plate. Right infront of that the cowl will be opened up enough for the drivers tiny dome to pop through,
  11. Well i got another mock up, sanded down the hood sides in the rear, formed the body a wee bit also. Sprayed a quick white prime coat to see what im sanding. Ive got some tubing so il make a front end sometime this week, added some tubing to a jaguar center section. poor mans quick change! Ardun head is strictly for mock up... its from the revell 50 ford custom kit, its so incorrect i cant stand it. Il be using resin versions from replicas and miniatures Ardun heads did not use flathead exhaust ports and intakes. The heads had 4 ports for exhaust and came with block off plates for the exhaust openings in the flathead block. They used there own intake, with equal spaces between each port, similar to a 426 hemi.
  12. http://www.fredsresinworkshop.com/trailer_...auler_parts.htm they dont come with tires though..
  13. Pics look fine. I want to build a truck myself only a flatbed version similar to a welding truck. You going with dually wheels?
  14. That is a amazing build wayne, i love it. It looks so dead on, great research. Say, when will your fotki be updated with the new parts (wheels etc) from topend?
  15. Well well well Rob... ive been hoping to see ya again on a forum!!!! (this is 73olds) ... i lost your contacts and.. you know what happened to me to the ''other'' forum, so i couldnt see write to ya online or aim (lost my internet for while, thats why i disappeared heh) Im at Sharksrealm if you wanna see me or here, so we can chat, been freaking ages man. Nice dragster, i see your paint is still flawless =) Love the gold anodize look, what did you use? Shes a beauty, looks real. Ryan
  16. http://www.artbeads.com/lqdsvr-1.html Those are liquid silver beads. There small diameter rods basicly. Sewing pins fit inside very well.
  17. In the pics, just a AMT 32 ford phaeton hoodside and hood. its molded together, so i spliced it down the middle. Il sand down the hood sides and make my own cooling louvers. i ambrol prowelded it to the back of the RPU body, not sure on the tail though, might point it or stub it, not sure
  18. That is amazing, you pulled off the aluminum very well, great sheen.
  19. Il be watching thisone closely. Im a big fan of traditional hotrods. Where did that flathead 3 deuce air cleaner come from? also those ''firestone'' big print tires and quickchange center?
  20. Inspired by member of the "H.A.M.B"(www.jalopyjournal.com),member "Dreadman" built his own boat tail speedster from a nash body. I started with a AMT Model A RPU body, added 32 ford hood and fender from another AMT kit..it was all one piece, finally a horrible detailed item has a use. I'm gonna make a frame from brass and use a independent rear end from the ''T' touring kit. Or if i can find a crisp detailed quick change il use that. Wheels and tires... probably what you see. Steelies and skinnies is the best combo.. Id love to use wire wheels but there expensive for good ones. I'm going for the lakes roadster modified look, might run the flathead in the back. Transmission is a "In and Out" i made myself. Intake you see is a resin 3 deuce i casted that didn't go well, so i used it as a mock intake for a blower version i want to run. Bellhousing is a rim backing i sanded in a dremel chuck, still needs some work. It will be ARDUN powered.. just need to make a goodies list of items from RMMD.. The driver will probably sit in the cowl. I have a Track T style nose also. Oil Pan is from a hemi from a revell funny car. Fits perfect. That said, im probably gonna update slow.. since im making parts for it with what i have.
  21. you can also go to walmart or officemax etc.. for report covers or something related to coverings for papers for school. they come in clear red/green blue etc.
  22. Thanks guys for the info. Decided to make my own, need to work it a bit more The flathead is just a resin cast i did that went wrong, so its used for mockups..
  23. Thanks Gary. I thought the same just wasnt sure. Now to clean her up and cut it, and cast it.
  24. What type of transmission is this? Looking for a short tranny to cast for my flatheads, but i have no idea what it is modeled after. Thats a 392/354/331 hemi from AMT 53 studebaker. Thanks!!
