  1. nice !!!!
  2. very cool progress
  3. thnx blair ! sprayed everything in base red and after that some gloss clear put on the mesh for letting oil filters leak out its very red , and still a very wet coat of clear , after drying and with black tyres , crome rims , chrome pushbar , some other chrome accents , a hose , logo etc it will pop i think
  4. thnx miles !!! cut some mesh for the oil filters shot of the side , you can see the shape , some ribbed stuff on the tank , the pipe below ahere the hose will go
  5. continued the oil drain cart today going thropugh my parts boxes i found 2 big and 2 small airplain wheels i got from a guy a while back .. those looked perfect and matched as a set big wheels in the rear just a simple mount with a axle bar then made cornerplates for the movable wheels ... used a steel pin to mount them after a tiny bit of tydying up then sprayed a thick layer of primer on it and still drying but already a bit matte .. and man i ddnt experct such a cool ... i really sat and watched the cart for a while a detail i dint show before primer on the front wheel corner plates i made angle plates for strenght and those really made the wheel mount plates look so much more realistic tomorrow a light sand and then i will spray it all red ... then after thats dry go in with chrome , black for the tyres ... a mesh grille in the catch tray for letting oild filters leak out ... a hose for emptying .... i did think about doing the cart white , so the barrel o to say white chrome pipe and the catch can red .. then it would match the garage lift .. but i'm affraid that looks to staged ..
  6. i started on a oil drain cart , after some research i decided to go for the big model , one on 4 wheels , 2 fixed wheels and 2 turnable wheels (shopping cart wheels). so you can move the cart without tilting it or hauling the weight the rough base / start , made of the cap of a tube of diy sealant , at the bottom a styrene rim rind that was sanded smooth , on top a round cap sanded in a rounder shape , a brass hollow tube on top , some pin needles with a styrene knob , on top of the brass tube a oversized ford headlight all hollow and open turnknob for hight adjustment a wider tray to make one with the headlight and not spill when catching oil , on the bottom of the cart i put a iron hollow tube where later will be a drain hose attached glued on 2 hollow styrene tubes and bend a wide handle from copper wire to move the cart around now i have to make wheels ans some other details .. all rough needs primer and paint
  7. thnx manny !! oh and detail wise i still have to start on real details ..so much to make , do and add ...
  8. cool .. and is that a g-scale train rail ??
  9. today i washed the inside of the garage lift guide / runner with black oil paint .. the oil paint leaves room to tone it down after aplying , stuff takes forever to be dry enough to really toutch without wiping it off again .. its ment like black old grease ... so the inside is pich black and more towards the edge it becomes lighter .... also gave the pipe going from the lift to the wall and along the wall more depth , used a pin and black enamel and painted black lines along all edges in the trasitions and also the bolts , then with a wet cue-tip toned it down for me its got more depth and looks less sterile .. i said i would do mild weathering , really being carefull i want to keep a tidy clean shop but some stuff just needs some weathering .. when i'm further along i might do a occasional smudge from a hand like on the lift post .. nothing real obvious but just noticeable here you see the edge being lighter and not all is equaly covered , tried to make it look like marks from going up and down and not spreading evenly
  10. whouw thats soo realistic , this is your first ?? hope to see more then !!
  11. lol thnx gertjan hmm this is my zen time .. i just build a little bit every day ....
  12. omg harry again a piece of art !! looking sooo good already > awsome to watch
  13. thnx peter , the floor is actually soo simple > its wood , i painted it matt grey , then took car bondo and with a flat piece of plastic pulled bondo over the whole floor , it sticks to certain places and in some places it doesnt , just a tiny thin layer .. then when almost dry i rubberd it with a cloth ... then left it to dry to end up with a greay and white floor (grey paint and white bondo). then just sanded it a tiny bot woth superfine paper to make it so there are no bog high spots in it .. and then just washed over with different paints and washes .. i always just try something so i dont even know what it was i put over it lol but the effect you see is because the washes thatw ent on last cover the grey more then the white of the bondo and so you end up with almost one tone of color but different strenghts so you get this effect basicly
  14. thnx bob and well its also nice for some beginners maybe like they can get idea's on how to use dif. materials and in a simple way make stuff .. sometimes certain things are really just super simple and easy to make out of scrap stuff i also got a lot of inspiration when i started on my first dio (the hotrod garage) just from seeing other peoples topics with build pics a finished the hand wrench , just made the handle matt black and put a little drop of black inside the hole of the part that go's on the lugnut ...
  15. just got the idea to make a simple hand wheel wrench ...just to see how making tools would go ...maybe after this i can make a torck wrench bend some plastic rod , a small brass bisch over that , piece of sprue with a hole drilled in it put a pin in the back just for looks with a round head then sprayed some chrome , when dry the handle needs to be painted matt black to resemble rubber
  16. thnx dave i need to take some good pics , all the ones i have ware early ones , later on i made beter taillight lenses changed some small things
  17. naah , its ment like alu / iron hollow piping and the cables run through those , this is also like safety and for the bridge you would have a pretty nice cable(s) , also the one going from one pillar to the next also doubles a bot as a stability thing .. all other powerlines and stuff will be real thin .. this is just a mantle where cables run through .. i actually saw something like this on machinery in a real workshop , thats how i got the idea ... they often use like thicker pipes to run cables through .. ps the pics above are pretty close up , irl it looks way thinner , i will post some pics tomorrow when the light is good from a more normal distance m8
  18. first set back , when i made a power feed to the lift .. i created something that looked terrible , but when removing that i got a hole in the plastic wall , could not make anything out of the situation , so i removed the shop logo and made a whole new piece of wall (just the plastic) on the left wall.. then made like a powerdistribution rail along and above the wood trim along the wall and made a steel pipe from the bridge in a bend into there some atmosphere shots i just changed the brackets on the iron pipe from the bridge and added bolts using steel pins .. hard stuff i have pretty big hands .. i lost like 8 pins in the progress cant find them
  19. love it !!!!!!!!!!!
