garage diorama fully detailed and fully scratch build ...
crazyrichard replied to crazyrichard's topic in WIP: Dioramas
made the worktop higher m filled it up between the cubbords ans top so its higher , also changed the bottom skirt , put thin veneer on there .. with some decals , posters and machines i think its going to be good .. still not 100% statisfied but i will make a nother bench next to this .. -
yes darker grey .. the floor needs to be way darker then the walls .. you could even try a wash > take dark grey and put some on the floor and with a cloth wipe it all over (spread it out) continue untill you get a cool effect and the floor is dark grey but a you also have little bit of light(er)area's ..

thnx mark started the cubbords / doors .. now they look small but there are 2 doors per cubbord , so doors next to eitch other will get handles opposite next to eitch other .. that will make all the difference not finished -
looking at it i would advise to paint the floor like a grey tone ... that would really look good

closed the sides of the underside , needs some work where it meets the wall tomorrow i will slightly polish the wooden top zo it is flatter and try some matt varnish here you can see the sides need work to hug the wall ...style wise the underside of the bench fits the lift again the mix of old and modern ... i think i will go silver because that blends it in the wall i think that could be cool -

it was tough to find material for the base and possible cubbords underneith ... i took a plastic gutter to hide speaker cable in your home .. took the lid that clicks on the gutter and made a u shape from that .. then took the gutter that sits on your wall , that has a bend shape and a indentation , (for clicking) and hacked that in pieces and glued it under to getr the right hight and it looked cool so on the flat part i can made doors and stuff it fits like a puzzle the top fits so snug that needs to go in sideways , so the underside slides under that .. but it really hugs the wall all round , no seams the sides need to be closed up -

no problem dave you can copy what i made , no problem .... hope you get inspiration started on the u-shaped bench top , used paint stirrers as base , they give the the thickness just about like what i have seen from wooden tops online and to stay in the stir theme lol i used blanc coffe stirrers on top of that and got something like this because a i did not want a sterile looking top and b the wood def. needed to be a different tone then the rest i put on thinner from my jar where i clean my brushes in .. that became black over time from all the cleaning of brushes .. that gave it a different tone then took black oil paint and painted the top , sanded it down so the black only stays in the seems and deeper earea's gave it a first coat of woodstain , same as i used on the hardwood but this gives a different tone under the top i think i want steel red painted cubbords ... and then a lot of machinery in top like a standing drill , polish bench ... etc etc .. lots of room -

thnx and no i never have a plan at all it just evolves .. like the wall with swivel doors just looked at the dio , got the idea , made it .. when i had the walls up .. i just sat and looked and took materials .. even the office was not planned .. at first i put some low walls there and later thought lets make it into a office .. i find making a plan is boring for me .. i let the idea's and more important the materials i have or find lead me .. dont know thats just the way that works best for me .. just start and see what will come of it -

thnx guys and bob actually it kond of is .. the bell took like 30 minutes from idea to finish .. its all about finding and having the right scrap stuff ... i have a whole lot of boxes and trays with plastic and left over stuff thats really helps today i thought .. lets try to make a doormatt at the entrance .. i found a cool mooneyes doormat and sized it in photoshop and printed it ... looked silly just a piece of paper with design .. i scrapped it .. 1 minute later i thought ooh waight i have like the cloth medical tape .. i used that ounce on a bench of a pick-up to make like a cloth looking apolstery ... o knew thats very see through .. so i got the doormat print and put the tape over and got real exited .. looks like soft material with a print @ the door from a distance irl it really looks like fabric and like you could swipe your shoes on it also made a doorhandle and plate -

customer bell .......time ping ping ping sanded a old headlight house smooth , filed of the bracket and drilled a small hole , then glued in some tiny hollow tube sawed it so its lower and i could use the lower part as a bottom with a small spacer glued them back together and used a round tip steel pin as push buttom > ping ping sprayed some chrome the saloon style doors are in , made brass plate hinges with pins in it on both sides so its a 2 way hinging door -
