  1. now thats stunning and cool not only the hazard theme but man that building looks superb .. stunning !!!!
  2. plug and outlet on the pole , and done
  3. thnx bob ! btw it holds a heavy van perfectly .. no sweat .. made the picture becuase a guy i know on a 1:1 chopper build forum said (for fun because he is a van fan) i would have run the powerlines underneith , now you cant put a van on it .. so i posted this with a lot of laughing smily's and said if its raised to just under the lines they can stand under it perfectly haha but i just started the work light , kept the shape simple added mesh and a hook to hang it on the chassis when working
  4. thnx guys in principal the lift is done .. i added smaller booms in the arms with round rubbers on it where the car sits on ... the only thing i want to add is like a rolled up cord with a worklight hanging on a bracket on a pillar ...
  5. oooh dudesss i found two tiny tiny lenses .. much smaller then taillight lenses , lets say you can easely put 20 on one fingernail (mine at least) lol put them on the switch panel , hard to see but in between there are tiny square switches .. only visible by looking 4 real
  6. thnx bob and yes i will thats why i have the holes there , will do that with steel pins with a round head , but when its glued to the garage floor so the pin gos into the wooden floor a tad , they are impossible to cut to such a lenght i can glue thme in now and not have them sticking out underneith the base plate went in with the silver , also did the plate on the pillar with the green and orange lights (those will get real glass like a light) also got the idea to make a bracket on the pillar with a cord and a handlight
  7. thnx i wasnt happy with the logo i got of the net so i designed my own version in fotoshop ... fitted > also washed in the circles in the switch plate with orange and green in the garage > not finished needs short legs with round rubber things , some metal paitn effects now all the paint is hard .. its perfect it just sits so stirdy in the leg it holds all my cars no problem .. still movable and stirdy overall vieuw , next is to cut the windows out of acrylic and make window frames for the office , that i think will tie in everything and with frames , glass and a door it will boost realism
  8. thnx mark .. to be hounest i just do it on the fly .. just looked at some lifts before i started this one .. but i dont look at an example picture , i just have boxes with material and start to build .. i think when you know how something works irl and seen it irm and understand the tech side (even if its only visual) that really helps with building i painted the legs and pillar tops red , didnt do a lot on the brigde , i think it would quickly become to much if i would use to much red , in the logo that will sit on the leg will be the same red .. nice balance now i think also painted the emergency stop with a matt yellow housing and red push button .. now i need to paint some metal effects i have bought metal coat , the enamel you paint on and after drying you can polish up like metal ... it holds a car on the higher position well !!
  9. started op the retractable legs today a base to build on > put strips of hard plastic on the square thing .. filled the gap so the legs can sit on its side and go lower because i want to keer the lift white and add red and metal and silver accents i sprayed a coat of clear over the primer , now its smooth , white with a tiny bit of gloss then cut the legs that are on its side , they are hollow so there will be a nother leg inside that with the round rubbers on it where the car rests on they really hinge in and out beside the legs , cant click them in the clear isnt hardened
  10. went to the modelstore and got awsome real thin clear lexaan for the windows , got a whole sheet , stuff is superclear and didnt cost much .. thats for later ... just filled the holes in the top covers on the electric motors , those being rom backs there where holes in the center , instead of filling those i made pastic inserts , now leaving the seem it matches the top of the colums where there is also a edge between the dif. plastics .. i found it nice and betetr then smoothing it .. now it looks like steel panels and all assembled , more industrial then gave everything a good coat of primer , expected a lot of imperfections but it was suprizingly smooth
  11. thnx guys .. i'm going to a big modelstore today .... maybe ... maybe i will buy some styrene .. def will get some scale wood ..
  12. went on > found these things in the partsbox , i think they where ment as gas cilinders or ?? dont remember .. they where chrome , poor quality , so i dechromed them and glued the halfs together , cut a piece of the top then notoced the lever on the colom was a bit thick scale wise , in fact it was a gear shifter , cut the stick of and cut a steel pin to lenght and glued that in then fitted the electric motors (whell thats what they now are lol ) then tryed a lot of stuff to use as a cover on top , nothing worked , then i found 2 rim backs and i cut out the shape of the pillars and fitted them like this
  13. came home from work and did sme work on the garage lift made rods from old sprue .. at one side i sanded a pint shape on them , drilled holes in the center of the movable sliders and glued the rod on the sliders the point shape on the rods fall into the guiders in the colums .. so it still moves up and down but looks like its attaches and driven in the legs then took 2 pieces of a sprue window with bends and cut them to the right width , used a bush in the middle , looks nice , gives stability ... so this is now the distribution for powerlines from one leg to the other (and for the 2 "electric" motors i will add later (not really electric) ) on one sprue bend i left a piece of rod sticking out .. glues a bush on it so later i can make a powerline from there to the wall .. that will be the main power / electric feed with the charger on , the rods just just took the weight and it stayed up after a lot of patience , the fron pillar is just for balance .. now i know the pillars and all can handle the weigh , now i need to make some beefy legs on the movable parts in a y shape and make sure i can lock the movable parts in some way .. sure i will come up with something
  14. made a plate on the pillar for a brand name , will put that on after paint and when its done the logo loosely on the plate (with some moist lol)
  15. added a switch panel and up/down lever
  16. made a plate on the pillar , with a emergengy stop , will make more switches later closed the edge op the top of the pillars and added a nother edge , smaller wich gives it more depth going to make some electrical engines for the pillars , the more beefy lifts have 2 motors , one at eich pillar
  17. i'm thinking of making like a hole in the center of the movable parts and on the hights i want in the rail behind it , then just stick a pin in it ..(easyest way ?) and the modelcar will just sit losse on it , there will be 2 y shaped arms on the pillars
  18. just did some work , found a old plastic rails from ...? dont know something like ?? uuhhmm dont know what it is glued those in the pillars , looks good .. cut some hard thin plastic strips from the window blinds and folded that around the top of the pillairs ... more to come ..
  19. thnx guys and richard thats a really good idea ... but i would have to buy them , and then i'd rather buy something more stirdy , like less flismsy ? but such materials you mentioned is really usefull yes
  20. suddenly i got an idea ....... went to the workshed and looked trough my stash .. and yes i still had some kabel gutters ?? , like plastic strips for inside your home to put like speaker cable in so you dont see loose cables ... made 2 colums out of those and its made out of 2 pieces that click into eitch other , so from one piece i made 2 small strips that click inside and can be moved up and down (picture 3).. now the idea is to make a support system inside so it will be movable and can carry the weight from a modelcar .. loads of details will be added like switches , brand names , bolts , caps on the top of the poles , nice paint .. just the first rough draft
