first of all function ...do you want a as much detailed diorama , or rather a dio to use for taking pictures of your modelcars / builds ? second size .. where will you put it when its finished , you want to make it as big as possible for the space you have for it .. so like if you have a display cabinet messure the shelf size and make a base box that fits in there ... (i kind of broke this rule myself with the dio i am building at this moment) simplest way to start is to take a nice stirdy wood base plate , cut to the right size .. for a garage build 3 walls on / around that ...maybe before putting up walls you can saw open holes for a door / windows .. naturals light falling through those makes a dio more realistic you want the walls thin but stirdy , too flimsy wont work , like the walls and floor are the canvas you will work on as for concrete floors you will be amazed what a matt grey paint base will do after some washes and even the use of bondo to create a more worn look .... from the moment you have your base the rest is really up to your imagination .. you pick a style > modern , old ... shiney or more used ... but after those choises its like what your imagination can come up with lol

made the shop logo mirrored , made the surface a bit light grey with a tiny grain in it , to create the solution its frosted glass with the logo with the glass on the logo it just reflects , pics are crappy , not much light in the evening , i think with daylight it will pop more -

yes thnx yeah same here letters are not readable .. i think with your average printer ists justnot doable i put glass in the small top windows above the counter , will rty to make slinding flass panels for the counter then cut some away on the wood on the wall and flattened it all and made a doorframe because i cant saw it open anymore (its to hard material) i made a exit sign on the window opening , you cant see but there is a piece of glass in front of the exit sign when light hits it it reflects , rally cool now my idea for the door is to also make a glass center window .. but then try to print like a shoplogo but then mirrored and make it so it looks like frosted glass with a logo and we see the back of that .. if that isnt nice i will make a all wood door ... -

went on with the other wall of the office first made standing posts from hardwood , i wanted to see if those needed to stay open because that will be the counter or i could do the small top windows i already had a wide edge so maybe with one more hardwood strip its wide enough as a counter so i took a figure and saw i could do the top windows , nice because now the design runs through and becomes one then stained that wood also -

finished the door made a long hinge (fake) from real brass and put it in a opened positition , i figured that was the nicest way so i put it in fixed ... also thinkign about when i have to transport the dio ... placed in / on the office a door plate and doorhandle from real brass put the logo on the left wall , where it was before i will make a door to the outside and the long office wall will be a counter -

thnx mark and yes i will do some very very licht weathering but nothing like i used to do , think more in terms of light black smudges from hands on places where they operate stuff very often .. and maybe on the lift some very mild tyre marks on the base plate .. i want to keep this one much cleaner .. in fact when i look at my hotrod garage dio now i think i overdid the weathering there lol.. but every dio you learn i guess ? -
haha cool !!
