  1. love it ! , superclean
  2. thnx guys .. and gene .. i just cut it with a hobby saw .. special thin blade saw for moddeling .. you could also use a very sharp exacto knife . and go along the pannel lines over and over again untill you cut through .. i fct that way is more precise then using a saw ... in this case it went fine with the saw ..
  3. dechromed the grill and put it in the front , its stirdy now ....
  4. thnx
  5. not a lot done ...shapewise but here is the flip front start > finally gott the window out , the person who glued it together used glue ..i wish i had some .. man that stuff was rock hard
  6. thnx guys !!
  7. thnx , its done and i just posted it in under glass > thnx for watching ! grts richard
  8. just finished my shelby cobra , its the revell kit , i added a ot and changed a lot .. made a custom dash from real aluminium , real aluminium door gards and back wall . i made a window and frame from brass wire and aluminium sides , made a smaller window more slanted .. the idea was to give it a racy look , more modern feel but still keep it looking like a cobra .. the wheels are actually ferrari rims , i put some rings in front of the ferrari rim to give it some lip / dish ..and put on a set of tyres that matched perfect the build thread in on the workbench > http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/topic/107784-shelby-cobra-restomod-real-alu-dashhigh-gloss-paint/
  9. got this kit from my sister in law .. somebody glued some stuff together with lots of glue , no sanding or paint and all out of line lol i was happy with it , parts are great .. but i wanted to build a bit of mad max _ apocaliptic vehicle for a while .. and how cool to use a charger ! the carnage > i dont have a real plan ..... but i started to cut out the inner fenders , then cut the fenders from the body , using the hood with scoop ..... then glued the fenders and hood together .. idea is to make a removable front and have a tube chassis under there .. or a flip front with tube chassis .... no set build pan will let my imagination guide me ......:) to be continued
  10. eric .. followed this from the start like all your projects and ....i love it , again a very very nice piece ....love your work !!
  11. cool !!
  12. aaah cool !!
  13. thnx guys ...and eric i have one but the corner is chipped ...or lets say a piece of the circle , the other one is on the dash .. so sadly no but .. i finished it .. will make some nice pics tomorrow in daylight (its 19:23 in the evening here now) ... and post it in under glass .... only thing issing are seat belts .. i still want to order some sets .. when i have some i wil put seat belts in the cobra ...
  14. getting close to completion , last few things we all know the bodys from the revell cobra are twisted .. i thought .. i had that fixed .. but no now al is coming together .. i made steel wheel axles put the wheels on the chassis , then the body on the chassis ... 2 issues it sits fairly level and on all 4 tyres but one side looks a tad different stance wise .. also the hood issue .. i thought and dryfitted so i "KNEW" that when the body was fixed the hood would sit flush ... wrong .. so i had to take of the airbox and carb.. and lower the airbox from the bottom .. that worked and now it all fits and the hood fits perfect then i wanted to make the hood pins .. googled and figured these would look cool > took a big chance and drilled the holes bigger , i had chrome beads ... gued those in the holes on the top 2 they are closed with a steel pin with flat head that fits exactly in the bead , leaving a see so it looks like it can be pressed and can move in total this is what i have now > also put on a rear vieuw mirror , found a nice oval one ... i had a slight gluemark beside one hole .. so i slightly polished it and gave it a thin coat of clear close up ..
  15. thnx guys ! well finaly after lots of swearing got a strip under the windshield that can be the contact surface to glue it on the body .. just yesterday i was gluing it on with superglue (one second glue?) and it just didnt want to stick .. almost ws like i was trying to glue it together using water .. only things wanted to glue where my fingers .. after a few hours i sanded the whole bottom edge back to brass put glue on the plastic strip and voila tight as a ........? now i can dryfit and go and set the ange and forward position here it is just put on held by a wooden stick .. not set in the right position
  16. yes a shame to not take it and adopt it maybe .. just maybe it would be much wiser to make it more patina ... low ..nice big fat wheels and tyres .. great stance .. nice frame .. and make a back window .. sand it ... and go patina ... so much has hppened to the body .. to make this a showcar paint ride ..or at lest very shiny .. i would just go nuts and give it a awsome patina ... fun to do ....also
  17. i dig that bdy and chop ... one question .. why is the frame that long in the front and the engine so far against the body ? seems like you could shorten the front frame .. move the engine a tad a way from the firewall and then do a front mounted axle and still have room fir a radiator ? just a thought visor wise .. now that you chopped the body i would remove that visor its bit out of scale thickness wise and the size of the holes .. try some thin material and make it more level with the roof ... smaller speedholes .. then the driver can see where he is going hihi > all ment well !! if you coud find some thin metal or aluminium .. thats great for a visor , you can form it and then file it in shape ..then drill a speedhole and with a larger drill bit make the hole a tad conical so it looks like a stamped in hole massive close up shows the conical holes i mean .. on styrene thats almost inpossible because the drill bit grabs the styrene this was the finished product well just some idea's from me being enthousiastic lol grts richard
  18. sun was shining inside trhough the window ..took 2 pics right away , gave a real cool shine to the paint .... also changed the gass cap .. was to clean and not perfectly round .. i looked at the car and the front is rather bulky with the scoop and later the window .. rear was too clean ... like it didnt match .. only the roll bar was sticking out ... so glued in a conical steel round thing (dont know what it is something i collected for my parts boxes ) no sun and the paint is darker and more blue-ish ... but here the gass cap .. sanded it as flat as possible so it doesnt stick out to high (its not the kit gass cap). so now it breaks the line a bit .. i dig it
  19. yes dito ... just loving this build ~!!!
