Big Red 1/16 Kenworth
kilrathy10 replied to Mike77's topic in Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
Oh, yeah....I remember seeing this one in a magazine that may be familiar to some of us, years ago....I was totally amazed, then, and I am, now, as well.....Excellent build....Only one problem, I see....I think you need to post a few more pics of this beauty for us.... -

Walmarts around here don't sell them anymore....Everytime you go the kits are all opened up, so they can't sell them.....And don't get me started on what people do with spray paint.....I like Hobby Lobby, though....They price their kits that way, because they know you're gonna burn that 40% off coupon and get it for $20, anyway ...They raised the price of the Pete and the KW to $24.99, so with the coupon, it's $14.99 plus tax....I'm ok with that..... But, it's good you found something out of there....Now, what are you doing with the paint, again??? -

My 1/16 trucks...
kilrathy10 replied to Mike77's topic in Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
Very nice work....All of these look good....Especially the large cars......I'm a big fan of your work....I've seen a couple of these here and there.....Excellent, clean, and imaginative work.... And, as a side note, I feel you....I can't see how anyone can think they can claim someone else's work as their own....Even if HE did buy it, It's still not HIS work...I'll use your words.....Very low class..... -

Some of the best work I've ever seen...Very nice work....Very nice... -
I built this one about 10 years ago...I found no real problems with it...You'll have a pretty good time of it....Italeri makes some really good race trailers..Although, if you're trying to do an interior, you just may want to wing it....I only built it box stock....The truck ain't too bad, either...I kind of wished I had a Man TGA or something else pulling it, but it cam out pretty good....I had that model for quite some time, until it got knocked off the shelf....I still have the trailer...Painted it black.....I never repaired the truck.... Either way....Have fun...

1/16 Scale Army Vega Funny Car - Finished 10/14/2018

Amazing, Dude....Just Amazing.... -
Here's what I got on the trailer, right now...Completely scratchbuilt, with the exception of the wheels and tires....They're from the 1/20 scale Lindberg edition Pete.....About to start on the interior....I haven't figured out, exactly, what it's gonna look like, but I have a pretty good idea... Oh, yeah....This thing is just shy of 5' long....59 1/4", to be exact....And 10" tall...

Here we go....I finally got it finished, enough, to post it under glass....I'm kinda proud of this one, as I tried something to reinforce the chassis so that it wouldn't sag and it seems to have worked....No discernable sag....I'm happy, happy, happy....Here's a shot of the finished product, first, and then some of the progression... Finally got this one almost all done...The only thing I have to do is connect the turbo to the air cleaners.... It's been raining, but tomorrow is supposed to be pretty nice....Hopefully I'll get some outside shots of it....Hope Y'all enjoy it.... Now it's on to the trailer....
