  1. Hi a small update of what I have been working on for the past couple of nights. Removed the rear seat and had to make up a frame to hold some flat sheet styrene so I could place rear buckets in its place. Had to brace the rear parcel shelf as it was flopping about without the seat. Will be extending the centre console to the rear of the buckets with another spare tub that I have. Thinking of doing the interior in bright red to contrast with the gold. Cheers and thanks for looking, Steve
  2. Nice build Brandon on one of my favorite mopars. Looking forward to seeing more of this build. Cheers Steve
  3. Hi thanks Jim for your comment. Al had to do something different with the stripe, wanted that unique look from all the other superbee's I've seen and didn't know if I was able to pull it off until I got the decals on the body and am happy the way it turned out. With the 65 from memory is the polar lights pre painted kit, that was painted a pale yellow, that I stripped the paint off and also opened the trunk. Am using the pro street superbee chassis under it and hope to be working on it after I get the superbee's finished off as everything is in mock up at the moment. Posted a couple of pics for you. Cheers Steve
  4. Thanks Al not sure where the stripe came from but it was just a plain stripe except a cut out for the turn signals, which I removed on this build thats where the idea of the superbee graphic came into play. The 65 is sitting in a box at the moment waiting for me to get back to it which is now painted black and using the superbee pro street chassis. Cheers Steve
  5. Hi I've been using super glue and talking to someone else he uses super glue with baking soda as it has more filler properties and sets like concrete. Bonus is it sands down super smooth and doesnt shrink back, an issue I had using other kinds of fillers. Hope this helps you out. Cheers Steve
  6. Was able to polish it out tonight as here we are in winter and was able to stick it in front of the gas heater for a couple of hours last night and seemed to cure the paint really nice. Then going thru my decal box I came across a plain black stripe that I added along with one of the dirty donny superbee decals that I got of a mate of mine. Hope to give it a clear coat in the next couple of weeks when I know the decals are nice and dry. Also added a couple of pics of it sitting next to a stock height superbee. Cheers and thanks for looking, Steve
  7. Hi thanks for your comments and I do agree about the scoops as looking at them in the pics they do look out of place. Cheers Steve
  8. Hi while waiting for the pro touring superbee to dry I decide to get a bit of paint on this one to see how the colour looked on it. Used duplicolor emerald green rattle can and will have a white vinyl top with the white rt stripe and white interior. Did start it out as a luxo style pro street but looking thru the parts box the other night ideas started and now I have came up with this. Replaced the 440 as its going into another project and dropped the hemi in. Cut up and modified a big block chev manifold to suit the hemi and added the dominator carbs. Chassis is the trusty pro street superbee unit that fitted with very minor mods and will be using the stock interior. Cheers and thanks for looking, Steve. Any comments welcome
  9. Hi just a quick update on the build. Have sprayed it today in duplicolor acid rush rattle can and will wait for a week or so before I give it a polish. Also found some side scoops but not sure whether I will be using them, will wait until the build progresses. Sorry about the first pic as was taken inside for mock up and had poor lighting. Cheers and thanks for looking, Steve
  10. Hi just a small update on this one. Wanted the scoops for a stock build Im doing as they had the moulding of the chrome trims so it was time to search for another scoop and I think I found it in a cuda scoop. Wanted to make sure that the scoop would sit flush I made the hole slightly smaller then filed the edges at an angle so it would flat with the bonnet without falling through. Have now filled up the gaps with super glue and sanded it smooth. Think it suits the build better than the standard scoops but do have another bonnet if its a failure. Here is a couple of pics of the body mods so far. Gave it a light primer coat to see if everything looked nice and smooth and appears good enough to paint when the next lot of good weather is here.Cheers Steve
  11. Hi got some paint on this the other day and have given it a rub back and polish then added bmf and the first set of decals. Unfortunately the stripes just started falling apart after they had dried which has never happened to me before. Now have added the white c stripes and gave it a quick mock up to see how it looks before I give it a clear coat. Cheers and thanks for looking Steve
  12. Thanks Phil for your comment. Had some time to paint the interior and get the majority of it together today. Used some parts box gauge decals and still fine tuning the roll cage before painting it. Next will be on to the motor. Cheers and thanks for looking Steve
  13. Thanks Travis and Alan for your comments. Travis I think the front springs are from the amt 41 willys kit but the front axle is from the parts box so unsure where it came from. Alan right on the money with the seats as I parted out the willys kit due to the kit just not looking right compared to the revell kit. Hope to have some paint on the interior today as the weather here in Adelaide South Australia is nice and sunny and winter is on its way. Cheers Steve
  14. Hi started this build back up again, need to get some of my stalled projects finished. Started work on the interior and originally I had the stock bench in the front but it just didn't look right. Searching the parts box found these buckets, think they are out of the amt willys coupe pickup kit. Needed to scratch build some bases for them as they didn't have any and although you can only see a bit of them I think they will work. Also modified the dash to accept a gauge cluster and found the old school tacho in the parts box. Swapped out the steering column for some styrene and found a steering wheel from the parts box that better suited the build. Hope to have some paint on it in the next couple of days. Cheers and thanks for looking. Any comments welcome
  15. Have started paint work on the interior and will be mainly a combo of testers bright red but with dull-cote, gloss and straight from the can combo. Have opened up the headrest on the front buckets and also made a backing for them as you don't see the backs in a viper. The dash now fits well and have the gauge decals in but still have to detail the dash. Converting the floor to a flat smooth finish for a different look and have removed the window cranks to simulate having power windows. Still have to wait until i have finished attaching the interior panels and dash to the floor so I can get the right position of the console so i can get everything fitting flush like it is supposed to be there. Cheers and thanks for looking. Any comments welcome
  16. Hi have this one in mock up stage at the moment. Using the kits hemi and modified a parts box supercharger and injection set up. Using a set of weld pro stars out of the motorcraft pro stock kit and have lowered both front and rear. Started on a cage but will now scratch build one as the parts box cage that I have used just looks out of scale. Started on modifying the dash using a facia out of a dodge nascar truck. Got it painted before the winter weather came in with duplicolor rattle can viper mica,a ford colour I think and have also clear coated the floor pan. Decided to make up my own exhaust in styrene as I already have a few of these kits exhausts on other builds. Also used the diff out of a pro street 68 road runner kit and had to make my first set of springs and shocks. Have painted the motor hemi orange and hope to have an update of the motor build in the next couple of days. Cheers and thanks for looking. Any comments welcome.
  17. Hi started this one about 6 or 7 years ago and finally got it finished. This was a nightmare kit to build as the frame was warped, the body was warped and nothing seemed to fit without modification probably why I kept putting it away. Built mainly box stock I added fuel lines and added plug wires. Swapped the headers for some better looking ones from the parts box and drilled out the pipes, also added a different scoop. Not sure what the colour is as my wife had some of her spray cans around and thought it would looked neat on this build. Body half's were warped but managed to get it squared up and made a parachute mount for the rear. Front end just didn't want to fit so I had to modify everything to fit. All in all I think it turned out alright for something I thought I would have to part out. Cheers and thanks for looking Steve. Any comments welcome.
  18. Very nice builds will be watching
  19. Thanks everyone for your positive feedback. Hoping to get some paint on the interior this afternoon and will post a couple of pics. Cheers
  20. Hi have been working on the body the past week or so and now have it painted, bmf and in clear coat. I have yet to polish it so see if it may need another coat of clear or a cut back with wet and dry but think it has come out all right. Unfortunately the door and some of the boot emblems didn't have the depth for the paint work so I had to remove them and hoping to come across some decals to put in their place. Now on to the interior. Cheers and thanks for looking. Any comments welcome
  21. Hi Dan thanks for your comment. Been working on the grille and rear tail lights the past couple of days. I wasn't impressed on the chrome headlights after all the work I have done to the rest of build so I drilled out the chrome lenses and had to file down some parts box lenses as everything was to big. I cut some styrene and bmf it then glued it behind the head lamps. On the tail light side I sanded down the outer part of the lense and then glued some styrene to the outer rim of it, then sanded it down to a suitable trim size. Then bmf it then painted it and think they look better than the stock ones. I also removed the plastic from behind the tail lights so they fit more flush. And yes the left is on the right and visa versa as they seem to line up better with the trunk crease. Any comments welcome and cheers for looking
  22. Very nice paint and foil work. Will be following this one
  23. Very nice Rick dont see to many early model pro street mopars very refreshing. Will definitely be watching this one.
  24. Thanks Richard was a bit worried when it came time gluing the suspension in although it looked good in mock up theres always the chance something not going right and with all the cutting of the floor pan, all four tyres are touching the ground evenly. Cheers
  25. Hi david thanks for your comments. Originally I was going for a tan leather look but I have a willys in the build at the moment with the same body colour that I painted the interior with tamiya bright red which I think turned out real nice and it also attracts your attention. Just a small update of the build over the last couple of days. Working on the rear end I noticed after painting the diff mount the middle section of the sway bar was square and wasn't satisfied with it and although you cant really see it, it didn't look right so I removed the centre section and replaced it with some round styrene and now looks heaps better. Also with the diff bracing it was solid so I removed some of the plastic to make it look more realistic. Got the front and rear suspension in and mocked it up to see the final ride height and am happy with the way it turned out. Painted the bonnet and decided to paint only the bonnet vents black for a bit of a different look. Now its on to the interior tonight. Cheers and thanks for looking. Any comments welcome.
