  1. That much detail on a 1/43??? I'm completely speechless! Wish I could see it in person. 8)
  2. WOW! Super clean build!
  3. OOOOOOOOHHHHH BAAAAAAAAABY!!!!!! 8)
  4. I picked this one up off of Ebay. I'm really glad to see Revell's repopping it, so I'll pick up at least one more. I love the 911 body style from the 70's/80's. I did have an issue with the windshield frame not staying "square" with the windshield. My intermediate skills didn't have any idea how to contend with the problem so that's how it stayed. LOL
  5. I love the older Nascar vehicles. Great and clean build.
  6. Contents: White, chrome, red, clear, and smoke colored sprues. One baggy with metal axles and screws. Decal sheet with carbon fiber decal for hood, emblems, graphics, guage cluster, TV screen decals. Initially scheduled to be a die-cast kit, I'm really glad Revell had a change of heart and released the kit as a plastic curbside kit. It's a very clean mold and the mold lines are easily removed with a fine grit sandpaper. Overall the fit of everything is great (as I would have to expect from something that was going to be metal die-cast). The one-piece chassis is well detailed, and comes to life when detail painted. The kit contents allows for two choices of grilles and tire rims for building to personal taste. NOTE: the bag of screws that comes with the kit has two different length screws. I didn't notice this, and used a longer one to attach the first door. Mistake!!! I broke 80% of the mounting bracket on the inside, and conversely, the "opening" door is now going to stay shut. Another problem I found with the hinged "lambo" door style is that if you tighten the screw too much inside, the door will not sit flush, and pop out away from the body. A little fine tuning with the screw fixed this problem. The interior is simple and has some decent detail that will come out when detail painted as well. I had absolutely no problems with the hinged hood and trunk fitting or opening. One thing most manufacturers don't do, that would be very nice to see, is include a mask for the inner windows. It would definitely add a helping hand in painting the black outer edge of the front/rear windows. The edge is frosted and can be masked with scotch tape and cut, but requires a somewhat steady hand for a clean line. All in all it's a simple kit and makes for a great static display model when finished. 8)
  7. Dang! I wish my "quicky" builds looked that good! Great static model! 8)
  8. I built this last night. The total cost was $3.00 for a 24x36 piece of Elmers 1/4" foam board from Michaels, and .99 cents for a box of stick pins. Glue didn't hold the foam board well, so I used stick pins in pairs and pointed in an arrow shape towards one another about 1" apart. That held everything tight. I also shot the whole thing with a base coat of white primer to soften things up and take the glare away from the foam board. Lighting is the only thing to practice with now. Let me know what you all think. Test pictures with a model -
  9. Yeah, I dig the chrome look for sure!
  10. I've actually had two graile kits, and been most fortunate to get them both. The first was the Revell Germany BMW M3 that's about 10 years old. The second was the very first kit I ever built with my uncle when I was 6. The Monogram Strohmobile. THANK YOU EBAY!!!!
  11. I built this one for a Community Build Project themed "If the devil had a car". It's the Monogram Ford T-rod (which has been reissued recently). Fun kit. I lost the radiator hose from the kit, so I replaced it with a piece of copper wire from some leftovers when I wired up my basement. Thank you for looking!
  12. WOW!!!! I looked for a kit of that thing after I saw the episode of Barret Jackson's auction where it sold! Thanks!
  13. OH BABY!!!! That is TUFF! 8)

Excellent attention to detail! Great all-around build!
  15. I've never seen the kit before, but I will say that you've done a fantastic job. Excellent decal work and the engine bay looks phenominal. 8)
  16. Smooth build. Kinda makes me think of what a modern-day surf wagon would be. Nice work!
  17. That is freakin' cool! I've never seen one before, but I love it! Bravo!
  18. Nice build and very original. You don't really see a lot of T/A race cars built. Excellent work. 8)

Actually it's a combination of things. The doors do fit pretty well all things considered. If the plastic's warped a bit that'll cause it. The biggest cause of the door gap is how tight the screw inside the body is that holds the hinge mechanism/door in place. If you tighten it too much, the door kicks out to the side quite a bit. The biggest problem with the passenger side door on mine, is that there are different sized screws in the package they send with the kit. I put a longer one in the spot, and accidentally sprung the post where it mounts inside by 80%. Needless to say, it's staying closed now. Just a heads up.
  21. Smooth ride man!!
  22. Here's a build that's about a year old. I built it as a gift for a friend of mine who moved and now resides in Colorado. He and I share a bent sense of humor for movies. It was a blast to build (except for all the BMF work). The Captain Chaos (aka "Him") and JJ resin figures came from Scale Equipment Limited. I made the Cannonball Run backdrop on my computer and printed it on to photo paper for the display case.
  23. Great build up! I will say that these little dioramas are a fun and very entertaining challenge. Personally, I like, and appreciate, them more than the larger 1/24 dio's.
