  5. I'll stick with my Camry and buy another when the time comes.
  6. Looks great. Clean, simple, and intimidating.
  7. I like it a lot. I normally don't dig the convertible pickup top, but that's a new twist that I can get behind and looks good. Nice job with the ghost flames also.
  8. This happened to someone on another forum about a year ago. It baffles me what kind of :!: :!: :!: :!: would have the "stones" to take someone elses build, much less when others are around packing up their stuff. I hope you get the build back.
  9. WOW. Super builds.
  10. That is one wild paint job! Great work on both.
  11. Super cool, super clean, and you completely nailed it. 8)
  12. Cool thread. Lots of solid daily drivers. 8) Here's mine - 96 GMC Sonoma - I had plans of trading it towards the next "family truckster" (to park by the wife's 2001 Camry) but some :!: :!: :!: :!: hit and run my truck in a parking lot a year ago while my band was playing. HOWEVER it still runs straight and true, starts on the coldest day in the winter, and gets great gas mileage with the enormous power-plant - 4 cylinder 5-speed. Now it's a beater/work truck as any good GM truck should be and I'm running the tires off of it until it quits. 8)
  13. Brilliant execution on this build. Tastefully done on a total package.

  16. Complete and total cool factor! 8)
  17. I used to collect a lot of die-cast Muscle Machines, DUB City, and Bigtime Muscle, Hotwheels etc. I've since given 80% of them to my son to play with and now only collect the occasional 60's Camaro and Nissan Skyline. I also used to collect CARtoons magazine/subscribe, but the flood back in 1997 took all those issues away. :x
  18. Wicked cool builds. 8)
  19. Thank you very much for the compliments guys. They are much appreciated.
  20. Love the color scheme James!!!
  21. Fun topic! I built my first model - a Strohmobile - with my uncle Jim as a 5/6 year old when he was staying with us one winter. I was allowed to help him and after that he, and my parents, kept me in the hobby with snap kits. As I got older, I was given glue kits that were turned into assembled glue bombs. I quit about age 8 and started playing with GI Joe's instead of jet plane models. Age 14 - GOT MY FIRST AIRBRUSH FOR CHRISTMAS! Back in the hobby again for 2 years before girls, school, girls, a flood, college, marriage, and a newborn son took over my life. Age 28 - my parents replaced my airbrush and compressor that I lost in the flood of 1997, and I've been back in the hobby for the last 3 years and will never quit!!!!! 8)
  22. Someone posted something very similar on another forum quite a while back. My philosophy is that there will always be someone to do something with the hobby. Just like there's always some flunky to clean sewer grates in the world, there will always be a kid interested in cars and building a model. Video games have become very redundant, and there's nothing "new" really on the market other than another game to run around, wreck cars, shoot people with chainsaws, and blow up buildings. The kids are going to get bored fast and look for something new at some point.
  23. My buddy Mark and I wanted to go, but street dance season is kicking in here, so the band is playing all summer. Maybe next year.
  24. Fantastic build. 8)
  25. My friend Mark challenged me to build a car to match the die-cast lowrider bike I had sitting on my bench for the next project. This is my first effort at dropping flames on anything since I came back to the hobby 3 years ago. I may swap out the wheels at a later date for some Pegasus or Hoppin Hydros, but for now I'm pleased with the "theme" build challenge.
