  1. This was a fun little kit to build. My friend Mark and I squared off building the same kit in competition for fun. I wanted to keep the build stuck in the 70's, so the earthtone paint scheme came of age. I didn't test fit the hood before anything , so I have to fix that so it clears the air cleaner hose. I also added Shabo tire decals. Anyway, here it is

  3. All done finally. LOTS of cumbersome mold lines with this kit that equalled out to hours of sanding to say the least. I added the center line in the hood, molded in the tail lights, rear fender moldings, and headlights. I kept the straight 6 engine for a classic hot rod feel. The foil was a task all its own that was quite a challenge, but another learning experience to chalk up. Here it is -

Got the foiling done tonight and windows installed. It's not the cleanest work I've done with BMF but it's a first with this much and style of window trim too. Chalk it up to learning right? Anyway, here's where she stands now. A couple more evenings and I'll have it all done. Thanks for following along.

Thank you all for the very kind comments, they are very appreciated. I got some more BMF picked up so I can pretty well get this thing wrapped up time permitting. George, it is the Revell Lowrider kit. Mark, yes the mold lines are the hardest part of this build, I have to agree.

I'll take all the help I can get! I'm sure I'll have a few extra gray hairs by the time it's all said and done.
  7. I dig the suicide shifter. Nice ride.
  8. Both would be good sellers. I would like to see them put out a kit of the Cadillac XLR. It's basically a Cadillac Corvette so one would think it easy enough to get one rolling.
  9. Mind blowing detail on that kit. The guage cluster looks real as do a lot of other components.
  10.    I can't close my eyes! It's too sweet!! Coolest 64 I've ever seen; 1:1 or otherwise. 8)
  11. Cool little VW. I like the simple styling of it a lot.
  12. That was my view of that article. It wasn't that specific event, but shows as a whole. I've run in to a couple people as mentioned above at small shows, and there's hobby shops that have that great odor of mildew....

  14. You get originality points from me for a Corvette hearse. 8)

I've got a rolling chassis now with an engine. I've still got the interior to do next, then polish the body, and loads of BMF work. :? Thanks for following along.
  16. Wow! I'm loving that hot rod, and yes it is a clean mold just looking at the picture.

I really dig it. Particularily the side exhaust through the body. Definitely a home run with the Corvette wheels and sidewalls. It pulls the whole build together. 8)

    It's Tamiya Acrylic Metallic Blue.
  19. I've heard of Pocher's but never seen one out of the box or in progress. Very nice work. 8)

Great build. I'm sorry if I've offended you or anything. I'm not trying to copy your work on the Buick.

This kit was one of my Christmas presents from the wife and kids, so I always make it a point to build one of the kits during the year. Lots of mold lines in difficult spots but not a bad kit so far. Just been working on the body for now. I may drop it lower and make it plow pavement, but I'm undecided at this point. The wheels came out of the Revell 32 coupe kit.
  22. Superb build! 8)
  23. Nice work! I relly like them both. Great execution making a drawing come to life.
