  1. My take on the AMT Scout that Jeff (jeffs396) alluded to in my introduction post. I scribed in the various missing panel lines on the body. Lift came via a spring over conversion. Baja Claws from Ma's Resin, mounted on wagon wheels from the Swamp Rat Jeep. The wheels are 6 bolt and wrong for a Scout, but it didn't bother me. Scratch built the front bumper and winch (hook and framework the cable comes out of from parts box). Spruced up the lackluster engine bay with a master cylinder, washer bottle, and scratched heater motor. Painted in Valspar IH Red and Krylon Gloss White. A fun build. I've got another one in the stash I need to dig out and build one of these days. Thanks for looking...
  2. Very cool Kerry. You really nailed the look with this one. Nice work!
  3. Thanks guys! Nice job on your Cuda, Brian. Wish mine was signed by the man! I see you're from Rhinelander. I've got some cousins not too far east of you, near Wabeno. Got a good family friend who runs a sign painting business up in Crandon, too.
  4. Shaping up nicely Roger, looking forward to more. It's going to be another great piece for your already awesome collection.
  5. Great job! Very interesting and different.
  6. Thanks again guys, I appreciate it.
  7. Exceptional build Steve, very realistic! And yes, please don't be shy and share more of your builds with us!
  8. a few more pics..... outdoors
  9. Built this one back in 2009, I believe. This was my first attempt at trying to replicate a factory fresh car, using a magazine article of a concours restored Boss by Bob Perkins, as a guide. Mostly just paint detailing. Added a solenoid and rev limiter. I love these 'stangs in Grabber Blue, so that's what I went with (Testors enamel). Decals are from Keith Marks. Oh yeah, other than the air cleaner lid, this was also before I ventured into the world of BMF. Sorry, the pics are a little dark and don't show the color the best. Someday I'll probably take some better ones. Thanks for lookin'.....
  10. Awesome paint and stance, great work!
  11. Very nice! And ditto on loving the AWB's.
  12. Thanks for the comments guys. It was shot straight out of the can. My luck with Krylon paint has been a hit and miss affair. The yellow did lay down nice, but it is fairly thin and took a number of coats (5 or 6 I believe) for good coverage. On the other hand, I've tried their burgundy in the past and found it to be super thin, even after around ten light to moderate coats, it would pull away from edges and high points.
  13. Great lookin' Willys, I love that color.
  14. Sweet build Jim, nice work. Your paint is fantastic, and the wheel choice is spot on.
  15. Thanks for all of the great comments and additional welcomes guys! I've always been humble and modest when it comes to my skills and build quality, glad you guys like it. Seeing all of the great builds and builders here, and elsewhere, always serves as an inspiration and drives me to do a little better with each additional build.
  16. I'd pay off all my bills and give a bunch to my ma and stepdad so they could retire. I'd hand out some to other family members as well. Set up some sort of interest bearing account and throw a good chunk into it. Then I'd live my dream and buy up some acreage in the Black Hills of South Dakota and put up a modest size log home with LARGE garage and start up my musclecar collection.....69 Mach 1 428SCJ, '70 Buick GSX, 70 Road Runner or GTX, 66 Fairlane 427, 70 Torino Cobra, 70 or 71 442 W-30. I'd also have to have a built-up first gen Bronco, as well as a Scout ii and a Jeep Wrangler or two. The money would also finally allow me to do a ground up restoration on my '79 F250 4x4. I'd do a lot of travelling as well, mostly in the grand 'ol American west. Truthfully though, the first thing I'm sure I'd do is tell my boss to "Take this job and shove it...."
  17. Thanks a lot guys! I very nearly did the same thing. Those are some frustrating pieces!
  18. Mark, both of those are amazing builds! Very nice work.
  19. From the Monogram Snake/Mongoose combo. This is the first flopper I built. Done just for fun without worrying about the inaccuracies of the kit and chalking it up as experience for future builds. Other than the plug wires and drilled out header ends, it's purely oob. Paint is Krylon Sun Yellow. Thanks for looking.....
  20. Great looking model. Very nice paintwork as well.
  21. Here is my latest build, and first to be posted here at MCM. It's the AMT kit painted in Dupli-Color Dark Cherry Metallic and Tamiya Light Gun Metal. I threw on a set of Pegasus Chrome T's at all corners, as well as disc brakes made from some spare washers I had laying around. With the stock leaf-sprung rear suspension, the wider tires didn't fit, so I converted it over to a four link. The stock axle was retained, with the control arms coming from the parts box. Other than that, the rest is 99% out of the box. It was a fun build, albiet a little challenging at times, especially trying to get the doors to line up right (they still don't, but fit much better than they did to begin with). Thanks 'fer looking, and any questions or comments welcome. Since finishing it, I never did take a pic of the chassis, so here is one I took before final assembly.
  22. I had to grab one of those, too. Definitely one of the coolest Hot Wheels they've come out with lately.
  23. Thanks again guys for the welcome. I'll get a couple builds posted today. You're right Jeff, I am long overdue for another 4x4 project....I've almost forgotten what a transfer case is!
  24. Oh man, that stance is killer! I like where this is headed. Where did those rims come from?
  25. I've never really cared for the PT's, but this one is very cool. Nice "out of the box" thinking!
