  1. I'd pay off all my bills and give a bunch to my ma and stepdad so they could retire. I'd hand out some to other family members as well. Set up some sort of interest bearing account and throw a good chunk into it. Then I'd live my dream and buy up some acreage in the Black Hills of South Dakota and put up a modest size log home with LARGE garage and start up my musclecar collection.....69 Mach 1 428SCJ, '70 Buick GSX, 70 Road Runner or GTX, 66 Fairlane 427, 70 Torino Cobra, 70 or 71 442 W-30. I'd also have to have a built-up first gen Bronco, as well as a Scout ii and a Jeep Wrangler or two. The money would also finally allow me to do a ground up restoration on my '79 F250 4x4. I'd do a lot of travelling as well, mostly in the grand 'ol American west. Truthfully though, the first thing I'm sure I'd do is tell my boss to "Take this job and shove it...."
  2. Thanks a lot guys! I very nearly did the same thing. Those are some frustrating pieces!
  3. Mark, both of those are amazing builds! Very nice work.
  4. From the Monogram Snake/Mongoose combo. This is the first flopper I built. Done just for fun without worrying about the inaccuracies of the kit and chalking it up as experience for future builds. Other than the plug wires and drilled out header ends, it's purely oob. Paint is Krylon Sun Yellow. Thanks for looking.....
  5. Great looking model. Very nice paintwork as well.
  6. Here is my latest build, and first to be posted here at MCM. It's the AMT kit painted in Dupli-Color Dark Cherry Metallic and Tamiya Light Gun Metal. I threw on a set of Pegasus Chrome T's at all corners, as well as disc brakes made from some spare washers I had laying around. With the stock leaf-sprung rear suspension, the wider tires didn't fit, so I converted it over to a four link. The stock axle was retained, with the control arms coming from the parts box. Other than that, the rest is 99% out of the box. It was a fun build, albiet a little challenging at times, especially trying to get the doors to line up right (they still don't, but fit much better than they did to begin with). Thanks 'fer looking, and any questions or comments welcome. Since finishing it, I never did take a pic of the chassis, so here is one I took before final assembly.
  7. I had to grab one of those, too. Definitely one of the coolest Hot Wheels they've come out with lately.
  8. Thanks again guys for the welcome. I'll get a couple builds posted today. You're right Jeff, I am long overdue for another 4x4 project....I've almost forgotten what a transfer case is!
  9. Oh man, that stance is killer! I like where this is headed. Where did those rims come from?
  10. I've never really cared for the PT's, but this one is very cool. Nice "out of the box" thinking!
  11. Thanks for the welcome guys. Craig, that Mustang is the one and only Tasca Super Boss built by Bob Tasca. He stuffed it with a all-aluminum Can-Am 494. From what I've read, it ran 11's in the quarter on street tires and mufflers intact. Someday down the line I'd love to take a stab at building it in styrene. I'm a big pony car fan as well. Being partial to Fords, Mustangs are my favorite though.
  12. Hey Shane, your Grand National looks totally wicked! You really pulled off that black finish, and great detail all around as well. Nice work!
  13. Hi all, the name's Tony, and just wanted to post up a quick introduction. Some of you will probably know me from SAE and ORM. I've been looking around here for a little while, and finally decided to join. I'm really impressed with all of the talented and knowledgeable folks here. I'm just your average builder, doing the best I can. Like many of you, I started building as a kid, and still do after all these years (though I did get out of the hobby during most of my 20's). Musclecars are my main focus, but also like building 4x4's, quartermilers, street rods/machines, and the occasional warbird. I'm currently working on a AMT '66 Ford Fairlane 427, turning it into a reasonably accurate vintage SS/B drag car. Pics will be coming when she's finished, as well as some photos of several of my past builds for you guys to laugh at! LOL
