Lots of potential in that one! Like mikemodeler said, up here in the rust belt, it seems a lot of them looked like this after only a couple of years of use.....and only got worse from there! -

Thanks for the good words everyone. No problem Austin, hope to see pics of yours when you finish it. Thanks Carl. I believe it was Valspar Urban Beige for the interior. Sounds like it was a beast Stephen, I'm sure it was a the gas station too! When I was a kid a neighbor had a dark blue late 70's Scout on 32's or so. I thought it was the coolest thing ever, with maybe the exception of a friend of my parents who had a 390 powered, red '67 Galaxie fastback. -
$425,000,000! What would you do?

Glad you like it guys, thanks. Chuck and Tom, you guys aren't kidding about this kit.....not much to it. I think that is the beauty of this one, it challenges you to bring it to life. The stock suspension has a spring under setup (leaf springs under the axles). So to lift it, I did what they do with a lot of the 1:1's, a spring over. I carefully removed the leaf springs from the axles and remounted them on top. In doing this, the front sat slightly lower than the rear, so I fabbed up a crude set of shackles for additional lift. Here's a couple of pics I took during the build. Hope this helps some. -
Thanks so much guys. I never thought this old Ford would garner this much attention, I am truly humbled.

Sweet Duster, Nick. Very nice work. Love that color combo, I built a '70 Road Runner the same way. You know, I have yet to build a Duster. That may have to change soon. Thanks for the inspiration.

Mmmmmm......Torque Thrusts. Nice choice. The perfect custom wheel choice for musclecars, IMHO. Great color and detailing Rick, nice job.

Thanks a lot everyone. After I win the Powerball tonight, maybe I'll finally be able to park a real one of these in my driveway. Yeah, I'm liking is here so far. I tell ya though, with all of the amazingly great builders here, it's hard to hang with you guys! I'm finding lots of inspiration in checking out the tons of builds and wealth of knowledge, on this site. I've got the same Grabber Green plans for when I whip together a Boss '9. You couldn't go wrong going with the blue, either.

My take on the AMT Scout that Jeff (jeffs396) alluded to in my introduction post. I scribed in the various missing panel lines on the body. Lift came via a spring over conversion. Baja Claws from Ma's Resin, mounted on wagon wheels from the Swamp Rat Jeep. The wheels are 6 bolt and wrong for a Scout, but it didn't bother me. Scratch built the front bumper and winch (hook and framework the cable comes out of from parts box). Spruced up the lackluster engine bay with a master cylinder, washer bottle, and scratched heater motor. Painted in Valspar IH Red and Krylon Gloss White. A fun build. I've got another one in the stash I need to dig out and build one of these days. Thanks for looking... -

Very cool Kerry. You really nailed the look with this one. Nice work! -
Thanks guys! Nice job on your Cuda, Brian. Wish mine was signed by the man! I see you're from Rhinelander. I've got some cousins not too far east of you, near Wabeno. Got a good family friend who runs a sign painting business up in Crandon, too.

Shaping up nicely Roger, looking forward to more. It's going to be another great piece for your already awesome collection.

Built this one back in 2009, I believe. This was my first attempt at trying to replicate a factory fresh car, using a magazine article of a concours restored Boss by Bob Perkins, as a guide. Mostly just paint detailing. Added a solenoid and rev limiter. I love these 'stangs in Grabber Blue, so that's what I went with (Testors enamel). Decals are from Keith Marks. Oh yeah, other than the air cleaner lid, this was also before I ventured into the world of BMF. Sorry, the pics are a little dark and don't show the color the best. Someday I'll probably take some better ones. Thanks for lookin'.....

Very nice! And ditto on loving the AWB's. -
Thanks for the comments guys. It was shot straight out of the can. My luck with Krylon paint has been a hit and miss affair. The yellow did lay down nice, but it is fairly thin and took a number of coats (5 or 6 I believe) for good coverage. On the other hand, I've tried their burgundy in the past and found it to be super thin, even after around ten light to moderate coats, it would pull away from edges and high points.

Great lookin' Willys, I love that color.

Sweet build Jim, nice work. Your paint is fantastic, and the wheel choice is spot on.

Thanks for all of the great comments and additional welcomes guys! I've always been humble and modest when it comes to my skills and build quality, glad you guys like it. Seeing all of the great builds and builders here, and elsewhere, always serves as an inspiration and drives me to do a little better with each additional build.
