  1. Didn't care for the granular look of the powder, I will look for the velour at Michael's tonight, Thanks!!!
  2. I looked at embossing powder at HL yesterday and it seemed to be to granular looking for my taste.
  3. Yes sir!! There is a long time seller of velour flocking on there. I contacted her and she is out of stock on black.
  4. I have looked everywhere and cannot seem to find black flocking. Every other color I need I can find but black seems to always be discontinued or sold out everywhere. Anyone have any leads? This is really holding me behind on three of my current builds.
  5. Question for the OP. Where in the world did you find black flocking? I can't seem to find it anywhere!! Most places are sold out or have discontinued sales of black.
  6. Indeed it is!!
  7. Yeah, you know I debated for sometime about doing that. Now that someone has agreed with me on it consider it done.
  8. Interior......
  9. "Sigh"...... Smh. What can I say about this kit? This kit is by far thee worst kit I have ever built in my 26 yrs of building but I saw it on the shelf and had to have it,especially at 40% off. I opened the box and everything was really nice, until I saw the excessive flash. It took 2 hrs to remove all of the excess flash and I contemplated giving up and selling it online. But I looked at the box and thought, man this thing is to sweet to not build so I went for it. All comments welcome, and if you have built this kit please tell about your build. I'd hate to think I am the only person to attempt this build,I found no other builds of this kit here.
  10. Very nice build, I love the color choice and combination. They go together perfectly. Had no idea Rustoleum had that color
  11. Allot of you guys seem to really like the color I used. In case you'd like to use it on a future build the paint is Model Master Chrysler Yellow PY3
  12. Looks great ,love the color choice. I've been wanting to build one of these for awhile now.
  13. I agree, I built a 70 GSX a few years back but didn't want to go with the box stock yellow so I ended up with sublime green
  14. Thank you!!, I used a toothpick and ink from a white paint pen
  15. I had problems with this as well. When I tried to put the body on it would not sit flush in the front and kept popping upwards. To get it to sit flush and stay that way I had to file down the exhaust pipes coming from under the engine. They left no clearance between them and the bottom of the rear bumper. If you look at the trunk/hood you can also see the fitment issue where it does not sit flush from left to right. I tried bending the lid, heating it nothing worked. It's just warped somehow out of the box. I also have an issue with the width of the tires, the 1:1 version does not have an offset that wide at all
  16. Thanks for all of the compliments guys!! I really appreciate it. I am happy with the way it turned out overall, except for the firewall. It is very bare and lacking in terms of detail. I have built this older version and the 90's release back in 2008. I found that even though this kit came out about 15 years earlier, the mold never had extra firewall details added, shame. Still a nice kit with excellent fit and finish.
  17. Built from the old kit of the mid-late 90's.
  18. Built this from an old 1981 Monogram kit. I tried to source the closest color I could to factory Goldenrod Yellow. What do you guys think?
  19. Thanks for the reply Jere. I'm definitely going to look into this kit
  20. Did the carbon decals come with the kit, also what kit is this?
  21. Have I stumbled upon a thread of fellow Porschephiles? lol This is a little off the OP's topic but I wanted opinions from some of the Porsche builders here. With so many Porsche kits available how do you guys know what companies to trust in terms of detail and build quality? I have always been partial to Fujimi and the old Testors Porsche kits. Is there a place where I can purchase small Porsche parts like mirrors and wipers? Almost every opened kit that I have purchased has these missing and I'd hate to have to buy two of the same kit to complete one car.
  22. I print my own guage faces for my builds, but it's a bit tedious googling half the day just to find that perfect, clear photo to scale down. I was wondering,is there some type of scale guage face database somewhere online? If not, does anyone here have a good, single source from which they obtain nice front facing photos of gauges? Thanks!!!
