  1. I had my drag car stolen from me back in 2008 right in front of my house without a trace. It was never found. I lived in a townhouse at the time and had no garage for protection, but I did have a detachable steering wheel, removable ECU,and a hidden kill switch. Our best guess is it was pushed from the lot and trailered or put on a flatbed. If driven or started it would have been heard for at least 1/2 mile away especially being that it was summer and the windows were open on the house. Now I have a garage for the current car,but I hope to never have the feeling that I had ever again when I saw that all the years of hard work and cash were all for nothing.
  2. This!! Horizon is great !! I love the fact that you can free roam and are not limited to just racing on tracks the entire game. I finished it about a month ago and there is really nothing left to do anymore besides cruise around and drag race against people online so I guess I'll be getting rid of it soon. They just did an update with added rally cars and tracks I may try out.
  3. I am not new to modelling just new to the forum,I have been building for 27yrs. Yea,I agree that the chrome needs a retouch but I dont feel that a dab of silver paint is sufficient. Do you have any suggestions on something better to use? I overlooked parts of the dash on purpose. This only because out of the package the detail of the guages, etc was poorly done from the mold, also no decals for the cluster was included. Usually I fully detail my dashes using a finely sharpened toothpick under a microscope, this simply could not be done with this model.
  4. that part had already been painted the day after the pictures were taken
  5. It's a fun kit george, The boat was more difficult than the truck was to build. On the parts tree for the boat the amount of flash was the most I have ever seen on parts in my 20+ years of modelling, lol. I had a few fitment issues with it also.
  6. It was the first time I had ever seen a kit at a yard sale. I was actually driving past it and saw the big box in the yard,I then whipped a massive U-turn and went back to get it,lol. Check antique shops and flea markets also,I have seen a good bit of kits at those places but the prices are usually more than what I'd be willing to pay.
  7. Thank you all for the kind comments,I really appreciate it!!! I uploaded the pics to photobucket so they would show up large and show the detail here ,but I guess the forum downsizes them by default?
  8. Beautiful build!!! I had no idea this existed in kit form and have never seen it in the wild. Who is the manufacturer of the kit,and is it still in production??
  9. I got this kit at a yard sale back in October for $5.00!!! I started building it the day before xmas to keep me busy over vacation from work. Unfortunately I could not use the decals as they have yellowed pretty badly.
  10. I have been using scotch magic tape since it's release with excellent results. I like that I can use the transparency of the tape to see just how well my edges are sealed before paint work.
  11. I would like to join a Modeling club in or close to my area. I'd also be happy with just finding local builders to talk kits with, exchange parts.tips etc. My exact location is in my profile.
  12. Beautiful build with great fit and finish. Color choice, interior, and the sound system are really nice.
  13. Thanks for the replies fellas!!! I'll check those places out.
  14. For the past two weeks I have been trying to find a flat black and a silver fine tip paint pen for doing window moldings/trim and can't seem to find them anywhere. I picked up a Testors flat black pen that claims in it's description that it is able to do fine detailing, but this thing is like a Sharpie with a fat chisel tip!! Anyone have any ideas or recomendations?? Thanks
  15. Thank you all for the positive comments!! I really appreciate them all. I can't wait to post more of my builds in the following weeks.
  16. I have been looking for this kit for awhile to make a scale replica of my 1:1 2002 STI. I love the weathering effects. I'm sad that no company makes this year with a removable hood and engine.
  17. Thanks!! The color is sublime green made by Model master custom laquer system. The decals came with the kit. It is the 2 "n" 1 "Revell Muscle"kit
  18. Love it!! Always wanted to build one of these
  19. This is 70 Buick GSX I built back in late 2008. After becoming a member recently I am glad I did because looking back at the pics I see allot of things that I could have improved upon in the build after reading all of the great tip threads. I will put those tips to use in my future builds.
  20. Nice build!! I love Mopars.I have been out of the loop for awhile now, from what people are saying is MPC no longer in business? I had forgotten all about them until now. If so what are the diffrences between the MPC Duster and the ones being producued now from other companies, why is the MPC version preffered more? Edit:Nevermind,I just saw the packaging from the original release and it looks crazy, lol. I see why it's more favored .
  21. Beautiful builds!!!!
  22. I have always liked VIP styling but not the cars with excessive camber. I'll make an exception for this though, beatiful build!! This kit has no opening hood I presume?? That really bugs me about the Japanese made kits, the hoods never open and have no engines.
  23. Can anyone suggest some type of wash or stain that can be made up using paints instead of having to buy a container of stain? Thanks!!
