  1. Hey everyone, I'm building Tamiya's reissued 787b. After forever of searching for the black test car decals, no dice. So, I'm doing my own thing, and it'll be loosely inspired by the Gran Turismo black 787b. It'll be my first time making custom decals so I hope that works out well. This is how it stands at the minute: (I'll be touching up that steering wheel before it goes into the car.) Cheers!
  2. Lookin' good! I'm a big fan of the Skylines.
  3. I'm a ZZ Top fan myself, looking forward to seeing where this goes!
  4. Just a light update for today! Body primed. I will be painting and masking the stripes instead. Started working on the underside, need to give things another coat of paint though. And the engine's in! Cheers!
  5. Cheers everyone for the comments, much appreciated! Oh yeah, never updated this. Had the first exam and all went well, guess I wasted more model time than I thought! Finished the interior mostly today. Looks alright. Thanks!
  6. I've no indication of a year on it, but there's a leaflet for a magazine or something like that in it called The Blueprinter and it's for '96.. so maybe it's '96? Thanks!
  7. Will be following this closely, love the JGTC cars!
  8. I'm rather spoiled in this department! I do my spraying in my da's metalwork/woodshop/whatever you guys call it/ classroom in his high school. Nice warm temperature, ventilation system on the roof that links to outside that takes the smell, and a cleaner lady that dusts the overspray later on in the day!
  9. Thanks everyone! Really appreciate the comments, they inspire me to continue. Outside of some revision before the first of my exams tomorrow, I spent an hour or two doing the carpets out of felt. Tried my best to stick to the layout of the interior. I couldn't put any on the parcel shelf on the rear due to the mounting points on it. I'll be doing some sprucing and fixing on this interior before it goes in the car, though. Cheers!
  10. Thanks for the kind words! Over here any American car is a sought after rarity. I'd love one. The hood on this one looks like it's gonna be pain in the rear, any advice on how to get around that? And yeah, going for the blue and white, gonna make it as close as possible to the one in Gran Turismo 2. Cheers also Bill! That dash will annoy me, I want this to be detailed and there's no decal on the sheet for the electronic speedo. I'll have to try and work something out. Thanks everyone!
  11. Cheers everyone! Guess this thing has more of a following than I thought. Only a little bit done for today. I've two fairly important exams coming up so progress won't be as fast as usual, but that's good as it'll force me to take my time as I really want this to be a great build. Today I did the wheels, seats and a little bit more on the engine. I'll be working on the interior and body work for some spraying. I'm unsure about what to do.. spray a white base coat and mask off one single stripe, or use the kit decals which don't look too good and have the three stripes and not have to worry about any bleeding. Ideas? Cheers!
  12. Since I'm one of the roughly 5 people in the world that like the C4 Corvette.. This will be mostly box stock with a few bits of extra detail thrown in. I've loved the C4 Grand Sport ever since Gran Turismo 2 came out so I'd like to do this one well. I've done base coats of paint on most of the parts and assembled some of the engine, along with some of the body work. I get the feeling that hood is a fitment issue waiting to happen.. Cheers!
  13. Thanks everyone, I really appreciate all the comments! TLes - the Tamiya Karmann seems common enough, plan on getting one, I've the Beetle in the stockpile too. Planning on building the 3 dubyas.
  14. Okay, took some more outside photos to hopefully show off the purple better.. And Hemi my cat insisted in being in one. Cheers!
  15. Thanks everyone! There's only one, for some reason outdoors the Tamiya Purple seems to look... Blue? Rather annoying.
  16. Looks awesome, love it!
  17. Cheers!
  18. Looks amazing, dead realistic!
  19. Thanks everyone! I just adore Plymouths, and since those decals seemed to be the only white ones I have that would fit, seemed like a perfect choice! Bit of imagination goes a long way Cheers!
  20. Volkswagen Type 2 Panel Van Plymouth Parts Delivery truck - "Josie". Hasegawa kit, wheels from a Shelby GT350R, decals from a Superbird, suspension lowered. Thanks for looking, all comments and criticisms appreciated!
  21. They still made these as late as 2004? Didn't know that! Looks good!
  22. Not much work went on today as I had band practice, but I've just been doing some bodywork on this VW and this is how the bench looks at the minute!
  23. Cheers lads!
  24. Practicing white paint and sanding techniques, so I weathered it slightly to cover the blemishes while I work my way on getting better at this God Awful colour so I can get building some old rally cars. Decided to give it an overall dirty look. Thanks for looking, all comments appreciated!
  25. The kit's being reissued soon according to Aoshima, should be cheap soon!
