  1. Dave, the wheels I need are meant to be used on a 1/24 Carrera slotcar (Lola T70 MK III ) which I want to turn into a static model. Maybe Jason will make some for me if I can persuade him. No - the Cheetah body kit is not top priority - I have a few other kits to be ordered before, but I will keep it in mind.
  2. Thanks, guys - my goal is to replicate this one:
  3. This is an almost romantic scenery, Gary - unfortunately these days have long been gone and will never return - a feast for photographers who could come very close to the cars and drivers. I made a similar experience at the Historic races on the Salzburgring in the late '80s.
  4. Last year I got a cheap partially painted and partially assembled FROG/amt Lola T70 Spider. Box says 1/24 but measuring the wheelbase turns out to be 1/25 scale. Scalemates states that this is a 1967 reissue of the former amt slotbody kit by British company FROG: It included decals for the 1966 British sportscar championship (drivers: Denny Hulme, John Surtees and Jackie Stewart) - as I don't trust them because of their age and heavily yellowing I ordered some from Patto (this is going to be a white car). After disassembling and removing the paint, I began with body modifications: closing the side scoops and altering the cooling outlet from curved-straight to straight-curved using plastic sheet and putty. As these versions had the Weber carbs mounted horizontally, I cut the kit pieces in half and fabricated a horizontal system using scrap parts from other kits – of course the opening in the rear deck has to be enlarged substantially. Here is a first mock-up:
  5. Another good-looking racer in your stable, Rich - very well done !
  6. Well done - inside and out - what looks like a decaling nightmare.
  7. Great looking classic land yacht!
  8. Very good looking TR4 - if they only would give us a decent 1/24 kit....
  9. Thanks guys, it didn't turn out as bad as i feared it would be. I think it will be workable.
  10. Tried to fabricate a horizontal carburettor system for my Lola T70 spider...
  11. Dave, your model inspired me to search for a _Cheetah - I found this (in Australia): https://www.thepartsbox.com/shop/the-parts-box/slot-cars-parts/1439-cheetah-body-pack/ Do you know anything about them and their quality? They offer a Lotus Cortina, too. From their website, the models are looking quite good. Have you any experiences ?
  12. Dave, you (again) created a very impressive model here! It certainly must have been a handful to drive this car: sitting almost on the rear axle trying to handle the brutal power - probably like bull-riding at a rodeo!
  13. A very convincing replica of the '64 pace car, Ismael - love the detailing !
  14. This is one fabulous model, Mark - it captures the lines of the original perfectly and could certainly be mistaken for a larger one.
  15. A fine collection of rare GT40 classics you have here, Gary ! Thanks for showing them to us.
  16. mockup of a reworked, partially built ebay gluebomb: Lola T70 by FROG/amt
  17. Very nice conversion, Tim - great to see something from you again. I have been thinking about the use of the Pegaso wheels for this one, too, keeping the cream version with the steel wheels and converting the silver one in a similar way.
  18. Nice model, Rich - you are cranking the models out in a real racing mode: the P68 and 3 days late the XJ220... How is the quality of this kit in comparison to the old Italeri's (Ferrari kits of the late '80s) ?
  19. Well done, Gary - this would surely fill a gap in my collection. Your GT40 group is very impressive to look at, Gary - I can see lots of great racers (and very rare models) here!
  20. Awesome model of this iconic racer, Tony ! If I had to choose one NASCAR model for my collection, it would be this one. Excellent photography, tool
  21. Fred Cady decals are very good to work with - I recently used a set which was almost 35 years old without any problem. They only demand a little more work, as each color is a seperate layer and you have to apply it one after the other. They lay down smoothly without setting solution.
  22. Very nice replica, Rich - this is one of my absolute favorite racers because of its sheer beauty. You did this kit justice and the profil 24 kit has the correct proportions. Well done !
  23. Just came upon your WIP - this will be interesting to see - Jason's wheels are great and the USCP engine parts look excellent (I was thinking about getting a set, too)
  24. That is NICE !!! A wonderful model of one of the best-looking classic Ferraris ever (and there are lots of them) - very well done, Thomas !
