  1. No problem Tim.......you said it yourself, no timeframe.
  2. Sorry guys, something came up.......photos soon. Thanks for following!
  3. Hood turned out near flawless after polishing! She is all done! Photos tonight in Under Glass.
  4. Thank you Antonio! I tried to find a couple more of these.....but there were none to be had on ebay.
  5. Thanks Ben! My favorite body style of it as well..........my old 1:1 \/
  6. -THE HOOD IS OFFICIALLY PAINTED AND CLEARED!!!!- Forgive me for the shouting but, every step of the way on the paint process it has been a "Walk on eggshells" due to the past paintwork and introduction of something BAD to the paintable surface. Tonight I will polish out the hood and introduce it to the vehicle.........and it will be DONE.
  7. Thanks Jeff, yours is still an Enthusiast so it will be GREAT on the detail level!!
  8. Thanks guys! A couple more shots-
  9. Thanks Ray! Thank you Randy! My thoughts exactly......originally painted it black lacquer, then had to put the Black Pearl over it to bring out the body lines.
  10. A mockup side shot-
  11. The interior-
  12. To say the engine compartment is amazing on these kits would be an understatement........ Mine-
  13. Got the car together yesterday and polished so I had to do a photoshoot (even if it didn't have a hood on it!) Pretty happy with how the photos came out......learned alot from my friend (the photographer) and was a huge help with the softbox, external flashes, and lighting. Enjoy guys!
  14. Painted the bottle itself flat white then when dry painted a mixed (white with blue or white with green at around 70/80 parts white to 30/20 parts color) paint to simulate the fluid. Thank you Bob!
  15. Go the two halves of the body/chassis together today........all that is left is to polish out my fingerprints and paint/install the hood. Pics tomorrow! Thanks for following!
  16. Thank you Joe! Thank you Dennis! (I also did the light blue for the windshield washer bottle.)
  17. Thank you Jeremy! The WRX is worth the money if you want more of a performance vehicle. (Mine made 313 whp on the last tune.)
  18. Absolutely beautiful Karsten!!!
  19. Thanks Tom! I am also a huge fan of the WRX.......I REALLY miss my 1:1! (I am still dealing with the hood yet) The hood is in primer awaiting paint today.
  20. Went a little different than I usually do on this build, decided to wait to put up pictures of this build until it was near completion. I got this kit from a local club auction......for $1.00!!! The bags were sealed but the body had been painted olive green and was badly wrinkled. Threw the body in the purple pond for about 3 days and went to work at it, the paint had etched into the plastic so I ended up primering over it with Duplicolor Etching primer and then Tamiya fine white primer. The color on the body is HOK Black Pearl painted over Black Lacquer....the wheels and brake calipers are Testors gold thinned and airbrushed. The interior colors were done with Tamiya XF-8 Flat Blue, Testors chrome for the trim, and Testors Gloss Blue airbrushed over embossing powder for the Trademark STI blue carpeting. I am VERY impressed with the detail quality on this kit overall but still added: the bypass valve on the intercooler, all the A/C lines and hoses seen in the photos, the wiring to the alternator, and the enlarged front rotors to name a few. Any questions and comments of course are welcomed!
  21. Nicely done Ronny! I also have this kit in the stash so it was nice seeing it built.
  22. I think I have this kit in the stash Delfin........is this the one that is molded in yellow? You did a GREAT job on yours!
  23. Excellent work as usual Mark! Those rotors and calipers look like the real thing!
  24. Good to see the both of you (and Lilly of course!) Got some good work done on the STI at the meeting and came home and painted it HOK Black Pearl....... now to get some carbon on the hood!
