  1. Getting close with the build! Halibrand's on the front were donated from a fellow club member (they were from the Rat Roaster) front suspension was taken from the AMT '55 Stepside pickup. Taillights were cut out of the original body (molded in) and replaced with taillights from a Revell '55 chevy. Just playing around with the "smoke" for now....it will be better! Did a quick print and mockup of the arm out of the roof.....I LIKE IT! Now I just have to make the arm out of Apoxie Sculpt. Some quick pics for you guys.....
  2. I always intended on doing a WIP on this build but now I am glad I did not. I have been working on this (on the side) for around 7 months! It is a fiddly LITTLE kit but the detail level is really quite good. Had a great time converting it to a race car....you see, the wheels and tires you see in my finished model were not from the kit. The kit wheels were tiny little guys and just would not do it for me, to install the wheels that are now on it was quite an undertaking because I had to essentially "tub" the chassis and do many suspension/frame mods (a little of a P.I.T.A.) Detailed out the engine with fuel lines and wiring and a bit of weathering, the decals came mostly from the Tamiya Minolta Supra, the wheels/tires were obtained in a trade with "Daddyfink" a while back and were PERFECT in size for the car, paint is all HOK (Black, White, and Clear). Enjoy the pictures of my fun weekend racer guys....any questions will be answered and comments are welcome!

  6. Hee hee Top Fuel is a Japanese tuner Jesse.
  7. As usual David, your builds are just mindblowing!! The level of detail and craftsmanship are just spectacular!!
  8. Just did a set of yellow lenses tonight on my Toyota S800. Yellow Sharpie worked awesome!!
  9. Hmmm maybe they were doing an update or something? Just a guess.

  17. Thank you Christian! I am glad you like the interior pic.....much thanks goes to Cartograf for the decals on this model.
  18. Welcome Christian!! I really like both of your builds, but the yellow one is just awesome looking! Great job!
  19. I think that the PE grille will look better to scale when it is painted flat black. Paint bubbles like that are usually caused by moisture that gets into the paint stream. Perhaps from washing the body before paint?
  20. Looks great Jonathan!
  21. BEAUTIFUL paint Steve! Try some embossing powder for your carpet in the cockpit. Lay down the paint wet, sprinkle on powder, tap while upside down to remove excess, and mist on new paint layer over powder to build up carpet texture.
  22. Here ya go guys! Started laying down the white base coats......black plastic is quite difficult to cover with white primer! Going to need to wetsand the white base to smooth it out enough for continued dustings of white in preparation for the White Pearl coats. Oh yeah, pay no mind to the upper part of the windshield frame......the last of the crack that was down the entire roof. I have pinned/glued it and will fix it up later.
  23. Thank you Antonio!!
  24. Sorry no pictures yet guys........I have been working on removing mold lines and smoothing in the Z28 SS hoodscoop.......the two hoods are a totally different contour hence the issues but it is looking great so far though. Pics soon! Thanks for following!
  25. These look amazing Jeremy!!!!
