Great execution on this so far Bill.
I can attest to how hard it is to make that chassis fit the old Vette body. The newer vettes are much wider and longer.
You made it look easy Bill!
Thanks David for following!
Decided for the interior I am going to use a combo of Testarossa and Enzo. The Testarossa interior tub fits like it was made for this build, while the Enzo seats are just a perfect fit. Interior will be Black with Red accents and carbon fiber seatbacks with a planned chrome rollbar behind the seats.
Also, the Enzo engine got it's individual tube header exhaust today (solder for all the primary tubes.....12 tubes! ) and the mid-engine transmission was removed in favor of a custom rear wheel drive version that I put together.
Thanks Kerry! Couldn't find anything that fit as nice as the Enzo chassis. Also, just ordered 23" Pegasus stepped sleeves for the Enzo wheels. Can you say stagger?
Working on the chassis sizing today. The Enzo chassis fits really nice now that I took off about 7 millimeters off of either side and removed the whole front splitter.
This will allow me make it a full detail not a curbside.
Just going to move the Enzo engine forward to the front and will probably run the Enzo wheels/tires because they are closer to the 1:1 in size.
Thank you Johann for the compliment! Laughed about the quilt!!!
I am going to put a lot of time into the body because it is going to be getting resin cast by Jimmy Flintstone when I am done.
That way everyone will be able to enjoy this beautiful car!
That is great news Kerry! It will be straight check it out (gotta sand it tonight!)
Today's update of progress:
And just for a good laugh......! Last week's "progress"
Thanks Kerry!
Update for today! 10-11-13
Got one of the front fenders shaped and both sides filled in with Tamiya putty ready for more sanding (round 3)!
Going to include a photo of where this was last week versus today......to remind myself how far it has come (it is almost a reality.)
Last week
Today
Cool, looking forward to seeing it Kerry.
I will also try to put up pictures soon. Fixed the beltline, made the rounded fronts for the fenders, and filled both sides complete. It is now a sturdy body (without the roof.......for now.)
Very nice looking build Rob!
I started with this kit for my Mystic Cobra convertible build.
I did lower it but it was not easy with the suspension from the kit.
Man Dirk this project is just incredible! I feel like I keep saying the same things but, I think most of us are just speechless when it comes to this level of build!
Just WOW!
Thanks Dirk!
Gonna try and get the beltline and then front end wrapped up next.
-To anybody that sees this, I am looking for two taillights for this build. Like from a 458 Italia or a 599 GTO. Would have to be from a Ferrari that has only two taillights. The ones with four tails will be too small. Thanks!-
