  1. Thanks Greg! I do hope that happens. Thank you Peter.
  2. Decided for my donor chassis I am going to use the Enzo. The wheelbase is spot-on perfect and with all the aerodynamics underneath the Enzo it will make the chassis a little easier/cleaner. Besides, it doesn't hurt that the Enzo has a great V12 to work with! Today I cut the bottom of the Cobra front end off (it just did not look like the Ferrari) and grafted in the top of another Cobra front end. This made it more rounded and taller like the 1:1. Plus it took the "Cobra look" away. Will be grafting in parts of the Enzo front end (lower) to finish the lower half of the front clip. Pics soon.
  3. Thank you Kerry! You can never have too much fun with the "other" toys!
  4. Thank you Mike, but I have to say that I myself was inspired to take on these projects by seeing what others on here have done. Hopefully you can pull something from this or other builds that would help your future builds. Then to me, my work will have had a positive influence. Thank you Gerald! I think that will be a good idea.
  5. Pantera GTS I believe.
  6. Well guys, here it is....down to just two parts now (roof and body). It actually is kind of strong now that I have braced the inside of it. Shortened the roof and now I like the lines much better. Will fix the beltline tomorrow. Gotta go to work!
  7. Thanks for the idea Jordan, that is what I will do. It does make sense.
  8. Yeah, go ahead and talk to him. I'll do my part to make a good master. Thanks Kerry!
  9. Was thinking the same thing about the casting! Would make the body a lot stronger!!
  10. Yeah Kerry you are right. I have been grappling with that one all weekend on how to fix it without weakening the body in the rear quarters. Will probably end up fixing it with filler in the end. Where I am at today...........
  11. Here are some progress shots from this weekend.......roof will be shortened today (too long.)
  12. The only other info I know is Gullwing America is the designer. If you type that name in you get other cars they re-designed other than this one. One of them is a Porsche 907 Carrera.......another very expensive piece. EDIT: Thanks to Bill (above) for looking up the story on this.....there was a lot of preparation prior to the start of this build and although I should have, I did not look up the story of the specifics on this car.
  13. I know only a little about the 1:1 Bill. The car was originally based off of the 1952 Ferrari 340 Mexico, then it was fitted with many new items: wheels/tires, brakes, suspension, new interior, paint and body upgrades, lighting (led tails, xenon headlights). As far as I know, there are three of these 1:1 cars......1 is red, 1 satin black, and 1 was done in the PanaAmericana race theme. This car piqued my interest because the upgrades were done very tastefully to add to the original beauty of the car and make it that much more stunning.
  14. Thanks Larry! I'm sure it will be a wild ride. Thanks David!
  15. Wish I could have, I ended up re-creating the roof using the front half of the 57 chevy roof and the backhalf of a 57 t-bird hardtop. Sides are still VW though. Thank you Damir for the wonderful comment!
  16. No problem, go ahead. I wish that one of the model companies had made a kit of this at one time in the past. It certainly would have been justified! You are correct. I cut and relocated the headlight buckets downward.
  17. Thank you Rob! Just had to do it when I saw the car.
  18. Thanks Fred! Me too! Stay tuned, I will be working on this actively.
  19. Thanks for the support guys! For me failure is not an option. I will create this. Forgive me, I am passionate about this project because I want to see it sitting on my shelf...
  20. Man that is looking goooood Kerry! Love the Pantera wheels on it. Welcome aboard Rob!! Started my build yesterday. VERY rough at the moment.
  21. Hey guys, time for the next build to start........this will be a one-of-a-kind build (in the model car community). The Gullwing America 340 Competizione. The closest kit to this was an Renwal 1/32 (38?) 1956 340 America. I have decided to build this car using several(!) different bodies all cut up and glued/fitted together. My build will also differ from the 1:1 car slightly. Going to run different wheels and an Enzo chassis and driveline. Here is the car in question........ I have begun this build already and although it is VERY rough at the moment, it is starting to take shape. Someday we will look BACK at these and laugh!! Right now it is just somewhat sad.......
  22. Thank you Rob!
