  1. I've always been a fan of Fujimi, Tamiya, and Aoshima kits. Even though a large number of the Fugimi and Aoshima's are only curbsides I like the quality of the molds, fit, and the choices. The owner of Scaledreams had several for sale at an excelent price so I bought four of them. The ones I chose are the Lexus and Toyota VIP or Luxury cars. The real ones are stunning (to me anyway). A luxury car with 20 to 22 inch rims, low profile high grip tires, slightly lowered with varying degrees of camber, leather interior, lots of wood trim, dvd's in the head rest, etc. I've seen a few with large trays for holding bottles of wine and glasses. Some models of the Celsior have side curtains and other luxury amenities. Other versions I've seen have gone toward the Tuner side of things where they are lowered to within 1 or 2 inches of the ground and serious camber in the rear as well as some wild colors.......I went somewhere between the two. Mocked up on it's wheels after a couple coats of sublime green. I stripped the wheels and painted them the same, but left the seperate lips chrome. Painting on some brake detail After getting a black wash....
  2. Gary from one gear grinder to another I can understand how disheartening it must feel when health removes you from your passion. Best wishes on speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing more of your work.
  3. Nice build. Did you say 39 years?? Wow, you've been hard at it. I'm just a pup compaired to the time you've put in. I actually just recently quit driving to be home with the kids to watch them grow. (Company offered a spot in the office) Are those Fujimi wheels on there I spy? I like the color combos you went with, they really compliment each other and the engine detail came out nice.
  4. I like it, lookin' good so far. I've got a Monte in the box waiting to be put on the bench so I too am interested in where you sourced the front clip.
  5. I love it. That is a beautiful build. Very clean.
  6. Guys thanks for the kind remarks. It speaks volumes when someone doesn't favor a certain genre of something but still apreciates it. That is awesome! Lo's aren't my only thing, just my current phase I guess I used to drive over the road so I have couple Mobeus tractors on order and trailers sitting on my work bench as well as a few Aoshima luxury cars and some Revell 80's generation sport car/gas gusslers as well.
  7. Very nice! I like how the engine is looking so far. I have a Tamiya bike I started in around 2006 or so that I just recently ran across. I may see if I can download some instructions for it start back on it again. Looking forward to seeing how yours progresses, it's off to a good start.
  8. While not a big Dodge fan I have to say I love the aggresive looks of the Chargers and what you've got going is off to an awesome start. Once can never have too much styrene, putty, and glue! Keep up the good work, looking forward to seeing how it continues to progress.
  9. Here a few pics of my recently finished 2 door Caddy Lo lo called Green w/Envy. I've got a ways to go yet but each build is getting better. Hope ya'll like it.
  10. Thank you all very much for the kind replies. I just noticed that finger print on the windshild when looking at my pic.....had to go have a look at the model and remove it . I've been following the builds of some of you and learned a lot so thank you all for things you have shared on here and other forums. I'll have to get some better pics of both by themselves and post them sometime. Thanks again for looking.
  11. Thanks for all the kind replies, very much appreciated. I'm going to put up some finished pics in the Under Glass section. Vintagedragfan I'll definately look up KCSlammers, I work at Hobby Haven part time out in OP KS, I'm sure someone there is familiar there with them. Ramfins59 I agree 100% with you on the dullcoat, I just didn't have any at the time as I was funding my kid's model projects (that's what I'm telling the wife anyway ) and overlooked it. Next time though I will for sure try and make sure to make that happen. Let me clear up my wording a little on "3rd model". I used to build a lot when I was a kid and then quite a bit my teen years in highschool but not much after my senior year. For quite some time I've been into RC helicopters and since 05 scale helicopters that are pretty decent in size and very detailed. So I've always been building something, but it wasn't until recently that my interest in models was refired due to my oldest son's new found interest in it when he ran across some of my old builds and asked to buy his first model. Here are some more progress pics of the caddy.... This was the first attempt at doing a textured rag top using 3M adhesive, sealing with primer, and than color coat Mocked up on it's wheels and test fit of chassis Pic of the motor after I gave the part of the block and tranny a black wash as well as rubbed the paint a little on so it didn't look new.
  12. Here are some pics of the interior. I filled in the center part of the dash so I could use some photo etch stereo and AC/Heater control faces I picked up. Since I'm going for the custom look I also "opened" the glove box and put a playstation in it along with installing a small TV and controller. On this build I also modified the Pegasus wheels to accept threaded rods and put small nuts on the back of spinners to make the wheels removable for display at an upcoming show this summer. Here are some interior pics. I decided to try my hand at seat belts and buckles
  13. This is the third build I decided on afer getting back into building. It's a two door Cadillac lowrider. I call it "Green w/Envy" This an the 64 Impala I did are the first models I tried my hand on as far as engine, trunk, and interior detailing so please excuse the roughness in look in some parts. At time of posting these pics the caddy is pretty much 98% done but here are the build pics: There are two different decals offered and one set really lent themselves to the color I chose so I had to use them. As well as a nice accent color for the chassis to help the color I chose for the engine block blend well...
  14. A few pics of the interior, engine and trunk before the body went on.... Thanks, much appreciated.
  15. This is recent build I finished. A Cadillac Escalade with a 64 Impala lowrider in tow. I haven't built much since I graduated highschool back in 94 and my 6 year old recently sparked my interest when I helped him build his first model. And the impala...
