Stretched Lonestar
Christopher J replied to Christopher J's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
Exterior is a Aztec gold base with Alclad Candy Purple, and Candy Blue for the flames and fenders. The paint mask for the flames yielded great flames but left a horrible adhesive residue that didn't come completely off. Apologies for the shoddy quality of the pic, I used my tablet instead of normal camera. -
A few pics of my current project. I decided to take a break from my contest builds and work on one of my trucks. I made some mistakes doing the stretch, but I'm happy with the results of my first try.

Turned out absolutely stunning. Extremely excellent build! -
Love it! Very nice build. The color and the wheels do it for me.

Love the execution on the interior and engine. Nice work.

Auto Transporter Trailer By Revell
Christopher J replied to Mr mopar's topic in Truck Kit News & Reviews
I work in dispatch for a car hauling company, the trailer looks like it was modeled after Catrell Quick loaders and Boydstans. This style is still used by companies we broker to, mostly 7 car set ups. I definitely want a couple of these!! Only change I'd probably make is removing the chains and making something to resemble the straps used on the tires. -
I remember back when you were workin' on this. Loved it than, love it now. Some of your mods inspired thing I did on a couple of my lo-lo builds. Great work.

That's a great looking build. My favorite detail is the alignment of the hood and fender....love it!

I've got a couple pics of the connections, shoot me your email. I agree about the ladder too. If you need some more reference pics let me know. A few of the trucks I dispatch are in the shop for service I can snap some more. -
My girlfriend is wanting to use my airbrush for her nails so she can do designs

Thanks to all for looking and the compliments. Too Doobie..the color is a nail polish that I used. It's blue, green, and purple. Can't remember the name of the color or brand.

Very beautiful build, man that's nice! I love the old "land yachts".

Came across a 60 Impala to had to my collection of Impala and let it sit in a box for a bit trying to decide what direction to go. I didn't want to do another low rider (not yet anyway ) and didn't want stock so I decided to just go different. The only two things I wanted for sure was I wanted to use the Pegasus Sovereins and color change nail polish. Here's what I came up with.......

Tried??!! I think you nailed it. The interior and body work look very well done. Nice color choice and murals. You don't our own or purchase them somewhere

They are user friendly. You'll need some small needle nose to bend along the score lines. I couldn't find straight pins tiny enough in "diameter" to fit the holes so I used small pieces of straightened hard line.

The trailer looks excellent!! I have a couple in my stash for upcoming builds. Do you by chance have any build picks of the trailer doors? -
Clean, lean, and mean. I love it. The color choice with polished lips and dark colored spokes bring it together.

That Super Bee looks great, would love each see more picks of it. Nice lineup off police vehicles as well.

Being a Mustang lover, (my first car at 16 was a Mustang), I have to say that is an absolutely beautiful build

This one was a Monogram kit. The hinges are Model Car Garage hinges. They are reversible so the door can be swung into the body like GM and other makes or open away. Thanks to all for the compliments.

That looks great

Thank you, much appreciated.

Absolutely stellar build. The weathering on this is amazing and looks very accurate in its placement. I grew up in San Francisco and we'll remember how the salt air would just "destroy" cars. Love this build!

Reached back to the late 70's early 80's low riders I remembered seeing when I growing up out in California. It's a glorified curbside/promo in that it has a motor. The interior and chassis are fairly simple, but with a little bit of dressing up it was rather fun build. The mural for some reason developed some wrinkles that would go away after a few treatments of Walthers setting solution. No biggie to me as I built it for the cabinet for myself.
