  1. Well John It is just plain AWESOME !!
  2. Got some more detailing done on the interior & attached two more PE parts to the clear pieces that are on each side of the car that sit behind the doors and the PE script above the glove box on dash.
  3. Thank you John ! I really appreciate the support ! I will be bringing this build to the NNL West next year & hopefully a few more builds that I have planned to build and hope to complete.
  4. Pictures of tail light assembly's and headliner.
  5. Your The Man John ! Awesome paint skills ! or should I say all around building skills !
  6. Little more progress this evening, I assembled the rear tail light assemblies & installed the rear glass.
  7. Well I polished out the body & panels again and it does look much better now.I will start on the rear tail light assemblies next and touch up the black trim that is painted on the widows & start on the final assembly of the doors also. Thank you all for looking at the progress of this build & the inspiring comments to keep me on track and to be patient while building this Lambo.
  8. More progress this weekend ! Applied more of the decals to the body the third brake light & the Lambo hood emblem & the emblems on the wheels plus the decals for the brake calipers. Chose some of the decals over the PE parts because I think they look better on the car. Was also able to rub out the clear today but the roof needs a little bit more work though & was also able to mask the windshield and the four small side widows and paint the black for the trim.
  9. Wel I have solved my dilemma ! After reading all of the replies I used Pledge Floor Wax but finding the Pledge was a bit of a pain to find but I'm very satisfied on how the screens turn out . Thank you all that replied to my post !
  10. Here are some more updated pictures. Finally was able to find a bottle of Pledge Floor Wax this morning so i could use to attach the photo etched screens to the clear parts & then install to the vent openings & was also able to wet sand the first couple clear coats & shoot a few more coats of clear on the body & body panels.
  11. Only problem I see with the using clear coat is that if it does not look right I can't really correct it. At least with the Krystal Klear it is water based so if it does not look right I can correct it.
  12. In the process of building the Aoshima Lamborghini Aventador & I purchased the detail parts which are basically photo etched parts. My issue is that where the vents are & on the engine cover the photo etched parts are to be placed over clear plastic pieces then the pieces are glued to there places per the instructions. The issue I'm having is glueing the photo etched parts which are basically honey comb screens onto clear pieces without the glue being visable. The photo etched screen I glued on last night I used the Krystal Clear adhesive & after it dried you could see where it had been glued. Its not real noticeable but I can see it so does anyone have any suggestions on how to glue the photo etched screens onto the clear model pieces without the glue being noticed. Thank You
  13. Was able to make some progress this evening on the Aventador. Was able to lay on a few decals and some of the photo etched detail parts & worked on the headlamp assembly's.
  14. I Like ! Awesome on the details !
  15. Thank you on the complements ! Taking my time on this build so I get it built with few mistakes.
  16. Awesome Build ! Thats one of the kits on my list that I would like to build eventually.
  17. Man a little progress this weekend on the engine compartment & shot another coat of clear on some of the panels & the mirrors.
  18. Thanks ! Was not sure since I have never painted any build yet in white pearl.
  19. Been thinking about my next build which is the Hurst Cutlass & I'm going to paint it white but the white I'm going to use will be Pearl White Lacquer so I use Donn Yosts technique on painting the body's so my question is do I still lay down the silver first then spray the White Pearl ? Not sure how the coverage will be over the silver base.
  20. Started work on the engine compartment this evening.Going to see if I can possibly scratch build a Supercharger but i need to get some reference pictures & some pictures of the engine bay.
  21. I usually wait at least a week or more sometimes before I handle the painted body's.
  22. On my last two paint jobs I've had a issue with the paint chipping off around any area that has an edge. My painting method I use is from Don Yost painting DVD. I've always used lacquer based paints including the primer & if I paint with the can I've always used Tamiya lacquers and I always clear over the paint and it is lacquer based also. So any ideas on how to address this? I know be more careful while handling the car when mocking up & assembling but I try to be very conscious when handling the painted body but it seems an edge gets the paint chipped off.
  23. Here are some mock up pictures.
  24. Thanks for the info! Awesome work on this build !
  25. Been awhile since I've had time to work on the Aventador so here are some updated pictures. It's coming along slowly plus I've been working on the final assembly of the 68 Dart. Just wish I had more time to build but sometimes there are more important things in life that come first.
