  1. Thank you guys for the tips ! The carbon fiber decal sheet that I purchased is from Scale Motorsports and does appear to be dead on to what real carbon fiber looks like.
  2. Carl thank you for the kind comments for the wife. (still sick) was going to strip the paint but decided to leave it.
  3. I have recently purchased a decal sheet of carbon fiber from Scale Motorsports & it looks awesome I must say so my question is what is the best way to lay the decal down? I have laid decals down before with decal set etc so is there anything I should do different? Purchased the carbon fiber for the roof of a 2010 LS9 Z06 Corvette Roof and I just want to make sure it conforms completely to the roof & windshield pillars. Also what would be the easiest way to make a template of the roof & front windshield pillars for the decal. Thank You
  4. No progress this evening the wife is sick so maybe tomorrow evening if she is feeling better but I did get something cool in the mail which is scale motorsports decal sheet of carbon fiber.
  5. Wow extreme weather for you guys and I feel for you.
  6. Today I was able to shoot a few more coats of clear and noticed that the strip on back is not straight. There's nothing much that I can do since it is cleared already and I don't have the time to strip the paint again. Hopefully later today I can start assembling the front and rear axle & front wheels and run the brake lines.
  7. I think the paint is called Snow Flake
  8. Thank you for the tip on the bmf Carl. On the Vette I'm waiting for a decal sheet of carbon fiber for the roof and then I will clear the whole car but for now all my building time will be on the Bee. I'm trying to get it completed to take to the NNL Show in Santa Clara in Feb.
  9. Will be there its 5 minutes from home.
  10. Little more progress today which is I also have finished scratch building the fuel cell and it is in primer now.
  11. Was able to get the decals on the Bee today & shoot the clear on her and also shoot the Vette with some red also. I was happy that it was about 80 degrees today to get the clear on and the red on.
  12. Thank you Carl for the encouraging comments! I might lay down some color on the Vette today if time permits.
  13. Jay I purchased the wheels from Arrowhead awhile back and it took forever to get them but well worth it. The rear axle came with the kit but I modified it for the rear disc conversion so it it would look correct. The axle tubes I made also so it would look more to scale and the rear caliper brackets where scratch built also.
  14. My prayers to you and your family
  15. Happy New Year To All !!!!!!!!!
  16. Born and raised in Missouri for my first thirty years of life then met my soon to be wife got married and moved to sunny Southern California. I do miss the snow though because it doesn't seem the same at Christmas when its 70 to 80 degrees here. But the up side is that I can ride the Harley all year round and be able to paint my builds also.
  17. Was doing another mock up of the undercarriage with the wheels on and noticed that there is no fuel cell so I just finished scratch building the fuel cell.I can't believe that I did not notice this before especially how many times I've looked at the bottom of the undercarriage. Thank you all for following and the encouragement to keep building !
  18. Thank you Bob ! I finally have realized and learned that I need to take my time while building these neat little cars and I have learned a lot from watching how others build there cars here which I really appreciate. Oh yeah I'm kinda of a neat freak when comes to my man cave !
  19. Teaser for my next build !
  20. Only had to work half day today so I was able to shoot the color on the Bee . Next will be the decals and then after the paint dry's a few coats of clear to finish off the painting.
  21. Little more progress this evening. Was able to shoot the body with some silver and hopefully the final color in a day or so then decals and a few coats of clear. Carl Thank You !
  22. Was not happy with the backing plates/caliper brackets so I scratch built another set & painted them and they work great ! Also touched up the paint on the calipers so now I'm just waiting on the paint to dry then I will see where to run the lines.
  23. I have scratch built the front caliper backing plates /brackets & now will paint them & also redrilled the calipers and will have to touch them up also .
