Love the wheels. Car looks great!

Based on some other pics I found of a 320, not a 2002 , it looks like its "dark" under rear bumper, so time to paint over the flat aluminum. Thanks for the link Juan! Found a better set of pictures. Not sure why I couldn't find these in beginning. Wrong livery, but correct chassis. http://www.stanceworks.com/2013/04/bmw-of-north-americas-vintage-collection-the-group-5-e21-320-turbo/ May be helpful to someone in the future.

My first but not last Tamiya kit. The fit on this thing is almost impeccable. Only issues for me were headlight buckets, wheels not fitting under fenders, and windshield fitment. Painted Tamiya Racing White, which may be too creamy. On to pics. Comments welcomed.

I will call this finished. I see what others have said about windshield fit. Base sits on wiper arm. Thankfully, it has side glass to hold to body. I must say Tamiya kits are the bomb. Not much if any flash, parts fit great, except for headlight buckets, lol. Wheel mounts are too long so if not filed down, they stick out of fenderwells. A few pictures here then off to under glass. Thanks for looking.

Got a little more done on BMW. This thing has more ridges on areas that should be flat. Engine didn't fit correctly in bay. Still trying to decide if gas tank/rear undertray should be aluminum per directions, or some shade of black. Can't find any rear pictures on line.

What car is that sitting off to the left of yours? You sure about cassette deck? Will limit your music choices unless you are able to hook up some type of MP3 player. What size motor? 1.8L or 2.0L SOHC? -

It really doesn't look that bad. Love the factory wheels. As you can tell from my signature, I'm a Honda fanboi, but can respect the older VDubs. Are you planning any bolt on or appearance upgrades other than steering wheel and small bumpers? -
Small update on BMW. Hopefully computer wont lose this post. After working on a Tamiya kit, this thing is like going back in time. Had to sand the top of the block to get head to sit flat. Front engine cover appears to be sized wrong; it sits above the heads when installed. The intercooler is 90* off from pics I found of real car. Have to paint a few more engine details on clamps and airbox.

Got a little more done. Went with red seats like the R has. They are the stock ones, not a lightweight Recaro type seat. Had issue with gauge decal not releasing from backing, so its screwed up and glue didn't dry clear. Painted wheels body color. Anyhow, one with the pictures.

That looks really nice. Deep paint!

That sucks! I've had cars broken in to sitting in driveway under a bright street light, but none ever stolen. That's why I try to keep my Hondas low key. My CRX idles like a pro stock car because of the cams, but exterior is very low key. I hope they find something other than an empty shell

Is the rear-glass on this model hinged? I'm currently stripping down and going over the Tamiya Raybrig NSX (that I built when I was...12 or something)...It's cool to spot the similarities and differences between that and a stock model like this. Yes, rear glass hinges. I have another race version, the Mobil 1 JGTC touring car. Have seen several built as street cars. Eventually, Mine will be built box stock for community build here

Have watched all three live in between working on models and playing with my son. Hopefully I can stay awake for end of NASCAR race. Hopefully no more red flags for technology failures, and hope fans that went to med center didn't suffer too bad injuries from camera guide ropes

Really amazed how well parts fit together compared to Revell and others. Chassis painted and suspension completed along with some more trim painted on body. Finally found a black paint pen which makes life a lot easier to make straight trim lines. Still not perfect, but better than 911 I recently posted under glass. Hopefully will have it close to finished tomorrow or the next day. Have to clear paint, finish interior, and decide whether to leave stock wheels chrome or paint them body color. As usual, comments welcomed. Thanks for looking.

Since everyone appears to want a small mint for the real model, I figured I would build a clone as best as my limited abilities would allow. Started with this kit molded in silver. Was unable to find spray Championship White paint reasonably priced, so I used Tamiya TS7, Racing White. Probably a little to creamy for the correct color, but It works for me.
