  1. Seen this kit for sale (everywhere says its rare so expensive, no idea) Anyway is it a ok kit to get and actually build? seen on a couple of episodes of CHiPs long cars like this......or is there a better kit to buy instead? looks nice though
  2. looks great. did the push bar come with the kit? I started building the interior of my Charger Friday night, added a little extra wiring and cabling. Need to get some after market decals for it next month. what paints did you use on it?
  3. I use a few, although being in England i guess they are different. I used to use tenax solvent but its banned in Europe (like Tamiya extra thin cement) but who cares............ shrinkage can be a problem, and some are hot, lots of people use Mr Surfacer, i hear lots of great things about that, i bought some a few days ago but not used it yet
  4. Ah that would make sense, will have to try photobucket etc. Its all new to me. thanks friend
  5. yeah, the whole lot in the pic. Im not going to the nearly mm exact detail etc. though, im not that good. How come it says i cant add more pics as no space left?
  6. This i what i plan on replicating. http://i.huffpost.com/gen/1728584/thumbs/o-90S-NYC-900.jpg?5
  7. Found a pic online i like, time frame is good for my Caprice and Crown Vic im doing. I will do side walk, shop fronts and part of the street section. I did this quick last night, i dont have much or correct plastic, or enough so i was playing around really. I have asked a couple of people from NY on my FB friends list if they could take some measurements for me. I want to make some resin copies so i want to get them right first time. I looked at hundreds of pics over the last couple of days, so much so all i see when i close my eyes are green bars..................and i dont mean the ones that serve Guiness and say 'Top of the morning to you' as you walk in...... ah it says too big to upload the rest, only allowed a few KB. how come?
  8. look forward to see what you buy. I know where they are but i always fill my car with German/Cz beer and vodka, so no room for kits :-(
  9. Tamiya tape is just someone elses, they put in a bag and charge about x5. Kamoi tape is the name. Few years ago they moved into Europe themselves, worth seeing if found in the US
  10. I think i might just carry on and complete them soon, just for fun.
  11. haha yeah, a year ago on ebay i saw soooooooooo many people trying to sell nothing but BLAH_BLAH_BLAH_BLAH as barn/junk finds. horrendous they were, all cashing in on the band wagon. Made in 5 minutes by a blind drunken haddock. I was so shocked i thought i would have a go myself, so i played around with a few things, ideas and bought a few vehicles-never did put them on ebay. I love rusting and weathering vehicles but as said its so easy to way OTT and make a mess of it.
  12. Heres a few pics from this pc. I had a Shepherd many many years ago, wonderful bitch but she had bad hips and i saw how bad she got at a young age, after i lost her i swore i would never get another. I got this one 5 years ago, previous owners only had her 2 weeks.........such a gentle dog, with kids, babies, cats.....anyone.
  13. thanks, im a 95% military modeller, usually super detailing the hell out of kits, cos of the price being often high so i can stretch out a build over a few months. I do now and again just OOB ones for fun though. Cop cars, Muscle and my first ever truck kit im doing at present are fun, love Cop cars but i guess as you know until the Lindberg Charger, the kits i had were the old Caprice and Crown Vics, so nowt too modern. I would rather someone point out a mistake i made, or offer better advice, so even if its too late to change it, i would know for the future. Some people like to whinge for the sake of it, i see it in military model groups i use, and then most of the time they never post work of their stuff anyway.
  14. ah cool. I have spent a lot of time in Germany, and NL. Is there a model car following in mainland Europe?
  15. Oh i have a HH 70's Ford i have been working on for years, to be a unmarked car like in the movie chasing the Mustang :-)
  16. Well i have seen them both, and totally love the first one, seen it hundreds of times-I had only heard of it in the 90s, and some Dutch guy said i should get to see it, as it was amazing...so he sent me the VHS to the UK, and i sent him 3 kits (i can remember what they were, the 72nd Italeri Tornado ECR). It came with Dutch subtitles but i didnt care, i watced it over and over. Then only rewound it to the start of the action from the car park and he pulls off the alarm leads..........oh by god i love that movie, i had seen the remake before that, but i thought it was BLAH_BLAH_BLAH_BLAH....and im a car nut I also love V Point, seen the first again hundreds of times, the remake is ok, watchable with a different twist to the story line.. This is a interesting story. I met a German girl in my city in 05, in a nightclub here. We dated for months, i met her parents when they came over and visited her, i went over a couple of times.....Anyway she back back over some months later, and some gifts (never say you have a gift for them to a german lol). Anyway it was a DVD of V Point-. he didnt know that it was my fave ever movie (i only had a vhs copy from tv i did)..... The reason he sent it me, in GErman it was called Fluckpunkt San Francisco. He was E German, well behind the Iron curtain as a teenager-anything from the west was forbidden or heavily censored. It turned out it was one of the very very few US movies allowed in E Germany.... Later that year, or early next on my next visit i took over a AMT Challenger R/T, with correct license plate from a Revell???? boxing and some tweaks. On a base with the English and German movie name. He told me he displayed it at his work place. Out of interest (if anyone is still reading this far lol) on my first visit over, summer o5-he took me to a E German military airbase museum....full of MiGs and SUs etc... oh my god i was in heaven!! I too him over a small 72nd model of a Mig 21 F13 i saw that day, then for his birthday the following year a HUGE 32nd scale one, exact copy of the onei stood next too again. THe smaller one is in the museum as he asked me if he could take it.I said yeah and yeah or so later sent me a pic, of him handing over the model, to the museum guy who i met, and actually stood infront of the real plane.
  17. I cant see the origonal pics. Shame. I had spoke to Tom many many years ago, maybe 15 on a webpage forum thing back in the day, he was good at telling me how to improve the AMT Monaco and the Yodel Monaco/Fury as i have a few of those also. Not spoke to him really since, he did send me some decals over back in the day too. Seen lots of his work, very impressive.
  18. Old build, but i like that a lot. Would love to know how the builder got it looking so neat and tidy around the chrome strips and body panels. Thats my weak point, one of many lol I have done a few of those early ones, i still have a few Impala SS ones, with the rear round arch, so just a case of filling the boot lid spoiler, removing SS badges and a few other little things. Im doing a Crown Vic at the moment as a FHP from about the same period, but its looking so bad, i cant get nice neat edges around the doors, glass etc that are the plastic or rubber strips etc
  19. yeah i have to agree. I saw a great pic a couple of days ago online but cant find it now, it showed huge totally destroyed front end, but the cage and sides were fine, so many small parts and fluids spread all over the road. I do see newbies, even with tanks etc try to cause damage just by heating up the plastic part and bending it, so in effect all it looks like is a plastic part thats been heated and bent. Nowt like the real thing. I know when did some damage, i replaced the parts with thin metal, thin plastic and even foil from packs of cat food etc. Looked spot on. I need to finish off a few quick builds im doing, then i can plan it better, draw some sketches etc. Work out how much space i have for the base, see if it can be cross roads, 2 car impact, or into a tree etc.
  20. Im mainly a military modeller, so i always goto the smallest detail. I never could understand people that say just build for fun, out of the box. I build for fun, never entered a contest in my life but i do try to get as close as i can to the real thing. People on FB model car pages mentioned errors with the Chimneyville decals i had planned to use, some i had noticed myself.
  21. Doing a blue, white roof early NYPD caprice as i speak, kit decals were not great, so im adding my own repairs-just basic long white strips, nowt out of the ordinary, but a couple of sheets have errors. I dont have a couple of exact light bars, close but not exact, but would anyone complain? Same goes if i used a early square wheel arch Caprice (i do have a couple of Impala SS) when the real thing would be a round rear arch, and then if i used the late Lindberg Crown Vic, instead of a early. I know the differences, you guys into cop cars would know, but i guess not Joe Public. I always spend time looking at the real thing, inside and out, and i do notice that i could have 3 NYPD Caprice next to each other, and each would have slight variations in markings/colour of wing mirrors and light bars. Will pop up later the decals im adding to the NYPD car now, and the other things too. I always want people to point out errors i make, thats not a problem, just wondered if people would look down on me with a bit of artistic license.
  22. i guess that would explain it easily. I will build the light bar in clear, with coloured inner detail and see what people think to it. yellowing from the sun i can do later as its simple. ta for the help
  23. http://www.trigoninternational.com/images/Police_ems/Force4XL_All_light.jpg
  24. great thanks, will be of great help. Would you have any idea of the colour of the real thing on top of the SUV? it looks yellow, but im guessing its clear, so the colour will be on the small bulbs
  25. thanks. noticed a few options. One thing i did notice that the drivers take down light???? doesnt have the inner part he controls it with, so will be fun adding little things like that extra.
