  1. Boxes, shipping materials, and time are not free.
  2. So that I am not confused, you edit this magazine, yet you could care less of what happens with the hobby??? Doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me, and that is not a good attitude for a magazine editor in this hobby to have.
  3. Yes, and I don't let my kids in the shop when I am spraying.
  4. and I thought my Wingnut Wings kits were nuts, Very nice work Harry.
  5. Kind of hard when you hit view new content and all you see is off topic stuff....
  6. There is a reason the side of the box states to use paints intended for polystyrene
  7. 4 years too late don't you think?
  8. Having people lecture Mark Jones and Dave Thibodeau on how to build realistic/accurate models is a bit like having people lecture Beethoven on how to write symphonies.
  9. scalefinishes has a nice carb gold color
  10. And this coming from a former mod. That should tell you something right there.
  11. Polished mold or not, it gets paint. No paint, doesn't get judged because it is not a completed model.
  12. One would think since you are building a scale version of the real thing, you would want it right. God forbid I am a model builder and not a kit assembler. Let the skies open up and the modeling gods strike me down........
  13. See with the pink primer my scale Ferrari will have the right scale effect, meaning the right shade of freaking red. Vallejo also has a black and white primer too. Very popular with figure painters and military modelers, and it is acrylic.
  14. Because getting it right costs money, and lets be honest here, car modelers are cheap. Would you be willing to spend $50 on an accurate kit?? Hell, I spend $50-$70 on my tanks, $100-$150 on my planes. Why you ask?? Because those kit makers actually took the time to do the research and cut the tooling to be accurate. Are they 100% accurate, no, but pretty darn close (in the 90%-95% range) and whats not right, I correct, since I am after all a model builder and not just a kit assembler.
  15. I'll add mine to that list. Vallejo model air, Vallejo model color (interiors and detail painting, doesn't leave brush strokes)
  16. truer words have never been spoken. After all, it is only a hobby.
  17. One problem with your logic: Auto parts stores don't sell model car paint, they sell 1:1 car paint. Perhaps a rewording is in order as to not confuse the original poster.
  18. Because I get "in the front door, out the back door" pricing at my Local Hobby Shop....Even though I only have about 70 kits in my stash (mostly aircraft and armor) I think I am pretty much done buying new kits.
  19. you are not the only one
  20. Vallejo paint line has a crackle medium, works great for stuff like this
  21. Made in China....nuff said
