  1. If you only have time for one, make it Model Cave.
  2. The Nov 2013 issue of Trains magazine (Kalmbach publishing) had a series of great articles on auto transportation via railroads, one of which was on the Verta-Pac Vega autoracks. A good read. Yeah, I'm a railfan and model railroader, too.
  3. I like the plates on the front.
  4. Thanks for the info, nice stuff.
  5. Nice. What did you use for the marker light bezels?
  6. I can't find the ext. hood 359 on P&P's website. Maybe he doesn't have it listed. They make a 379 conversion in 1/25 scale for the Revell 359's.
  7. Nice work. What did they put under the hood for that kit?
  8. Awesome, I'll check it out. Thanks
  9. Wonderful work! It would look great next to an old barn. Oh, the diorama possibilities.
  10. Thanks! I'll start a new topic when I get some progress done. I have a parts order I'm trying to place with P&P.
  11. Ok, I'm going to start the 1/24 scale Aeromax and Peterbilt 379 toterhomes asap. I just finished a 1/64 scale version of the 379 (sort of a mock-up):
  12. Nice "Everyday Vehicle". Modeling the ordinary is appreciated. Is that a diecast later model e series next to it? Didn't know someone made that.
  13. I see you have a Cat C15, wish they still made that in resin. Good start. Gonna be a nice rig.
  14. I agree with Ben that models like a 379 Pete or a W900L would sell well in a complete plastic kit. Yes, resin parts are available, but in reality, that only works for someone who is really dedicated to having that model in their collection. It takes parts from many sources to build an accurate truck. I think most people fall into the category of wanting that truck, but not wanting it so bad that they'll jump through all the hoops to get one. "Off the shelf" is better for most people, and that's not a bad thing, making it even easier for custom builders.
  15. Funny, I just suggested the CL 9000 to Moebius. Either way, I'd love to get one.
  16. I'll look into that. Where do you find his parts? I can't find a website.
  17. Thanks. That is what I thought, it is close, but not an exact match. Good tip on the 10 degree tilt. If it really bothers me I could look at the resin Auslowe N14, I suppose. I really appreciate the "Master List" thread. Good info.
  18. Really, really nice truck. I especially like those big straight pipes. How'd ya make those?
  19. According to the "master list of kit info", the Revell Aeromax 120 has a Cummins N14. If this is true, the engine is correct for that truck model and era. I had previously thought it had an older Cummins, like AMT's T600 that has the NTA 370. Can anyone confirm this? I've looked at N14 pics, and the valve covers don't seem to match. Thanks
  20. Thought this one would be a close match to the S&S coach body demensions and style.
  21. Nothing yet, but I plan to start soon and work this summer on it. For the chassis candidate, I'm thinking of using the Revell Aeromax 120. I started that model years ago but never completed it - I need to switch out the engine. That kit suffers from the same geriatric diesel disease that plagues so many models. I know it costs more, but model manufactures really need to tool modern engines to go with the modern trucks. I am still planning on building another conversion similiar to the picture I posted above, so I can use the Detroit Series 60 from the Italeri 378 kit (a future purchase) for the Aeromax, which fits that mid 90's era and truck just fine.
  22. I recieved it today, very pleased with the great start it will give me. I appreciate you sending it to me, oldr-n-drt. I'll post progress as I go.
  23. Really looks good, those decals are great. Question though, when someone puts a big condo sleeper on a COE, is there usually access to it from the cab/sleeper? Or do they just simply have a side door? I saw an old photo a while back with one that you can reach from the cab, just wondering how rare that was.
