Okay... I got the engine built (mostly), and painted. I'm trying to figure out what to use as a blower belt. The engine came with one, but I don't like the way it looks. Any suggestions?
Here's the pics...
Ken Hamilton (awesome builder) has a book out called "How to build creative dioramas for your scale auto models". It's a great guide for showing you how to build AND how to weather them. It includes 3 different sections on weathering metal, wood, and plaster.
It's a little hard to find though... You can contact Ken at the B&B boards, and see if he has any copies left. I tried for a long time to get him to publish it again... Maybe if enough people ask him, he'll do it.

You can find him in the diorama section (of course ).
$2,000.00 compared to $1.7 mil... Too bad he didn't buy it before...
Of course they will Bob! And since Leno is such a big car guy, he'll have a chance to embarrass them for calling it a "Lambo"...
Yes it does. It has 7 tires in the kit (one for the spare well). The dual wheel set up has a plastic piece the holds 2 tires together to make the dual rear set up.This was one the most fun builds I've done in a long time!
Love your signature picture by the way... That is hilarious!
I think I've seen those pics before. I saw them on a hearse website.
I'm gonna cheat, and order the stretched frame and interior from Jimmy Flintstone.
I was wondering if it was the same kit. I just finished the AMT version...
Now that I know that it's the same kit, I'll have to pickup (pun intended) a couple of these kits.
You mean like this one? I figured I would use a Florida plate since I got this kit from you...
I've got the engine sitting in Westley's Bleche White right now to remove the mold release on it, then I'll paint it, build it, and install it...
Thanks Erik!
Seen pics of the mystery men car... Perrty cool!
I was thinking of like doing it up like a 1930's Cadillac, open top over the driver, and closed top over the passengers, but more than likely I'll have T-tops front and back...
You would make me try to figure out the length, wouldn't ya...
Okay, with the body taped together, and the front and rear taped on as well, it measured out at 11 7/8 inches in length (I held it, and a friend measured it with his tape measure).
Thanks Tom! I had started to build a Corvette limo years ago, but the kit got lost in a move. This time I stretched it longer.
I had to flatten the top edges in the center just a hair, but it wasn't too bad.
The tow truck wheels and tires came with the kit.
With the Revell tow truck done, I've decided to do this project next...
I'm using 2 Monogram Corvette America kits to build this. Building to start soon...
Got some work done on the cab and interior tonight. I polished the body and added stepboards to it, and finished the interior. I glued on the the Chevy grill I got from the Revell Hot Rod Magazine street machine pickup, which in my opinion looks a whole lot better than the GMC grill that came with the kit. I extended the front push bumper down for a better look. All I have left is some detail painting, the engine, and the exhaust to finish up.
More soon...
