Yeah I know. Although some of the colors are right but there's no way to match them all without the codes. I'll look at gofer maybe I can find the black stripes. It looks like the Z/28 decals have the thin stripes but that's to many sets of decals. That's my last worry. I figure when I get to that point I'll know all the colors are on! Here's the first color -
That thing is sweet!

Here is the drivers side done. Dark green with black vinyl top. I already had to fix a couple of " blurbs " I'll call them. I had to fix one spot but didn't wait long enough for it to dry so I damaged the green which I had to fix also! There's a saying in body work " slow is fast "! How true. Now I can start on the stripes... -

Thanks! THis is going to actually be WORK! I always seem to pick the hard stuff! It's just such a cool looking car I had to try. The problem I'm already seeing is that there are 26 different colors. I've been able to match about 18. But, because of the scale I won't be able to fit all 26, let alone use black pinstripe ( which I can't find ) on it. My plan was to go with the 18 and use white pin stripes, ( from the Sox and Martin decals ) to do it. I still think if I can actually get all 18 w/o messing it up it'll be a pretty cool looking model! Any thoughts? -
hey guys, this is one I've been wanting to do for a long time. After considerable research I have enough info to start it. The paint job will be the most challenging. The car was only a brochure car advertising all the hi impact colors. It was never built until the guy in the magazine issue built it. It was called the " paint code cuda " it was featured at the 2016 muscle car & corvette nationals in Rosemont Il. ( I live right there and I missed it! Figures ! ) half the car, drivers side, was dark green with a black vinyl top and factory stock. The passenger side shows all the colors and a race car look, mags, ladder bar s is the first stage, drivers side stock colors. The fun begins...

That RR with the rr in the cloud is my favorite car
-
It's never been on any S&M decals. I got one a long time ago from another builder. I have ONE left. It's not the best quality cause it's a copy of a copy but I'll be glad to send u one. Just need to know where to send it. With one as least u can make some copies.

Hey Dr Kerry, what color did u use? I was just going to go with chrome yellow. Sorry if u said it and I missed it -
Hey guys, just wanted to share a few more of the Sox and Martin cars. I wrote him once, he was a super nice guy!

Gapp&Roush Grumpy vega Landy challenger
dragmodels44 replied to dragmodels44's topic in WIP: Drag Racing Models
Thanks! I actually did the 71-72 body, just the colors. It was a resin body I got and will probably throw that one on eBay so someone only has to decal and clear it. I needed his vega to go with the 70 camaro -

Thanks! The "Kartoon " versions are a change from the " correct" scale replica we try to do. They're stress free, and fun -

Thanks for the nice comment. If u notice I gave up on trying to make the stripes on the sides. The top was easy I just used the white decal stripe from the S&M decals. As u said, I loved the paint scheme on the Landy. I kinda guessed on the colors, but I was happy enough with it. -

Very nice! I just found an unbuilt Milner dragster on eBay and should get it in a week. I have an older copy of the decals but I'll copy the kit one and maybe use those as mine are not crisp. I'll use your reference to build mine. Here's the "kartoon version" I did LOL -
Wanted to post these drag cars that I've been wanting to do for a long time. I finally got the pieces to complete them all. The G&R is a comp resins body. The Grump is the twister vega, although the slant nose isn't right. The Landy is another comp resins. The G&R decals were a nightmare and I had to hand paint the red hash marks. They're not perfect, but wil look good on the shelf!

dragmodels44 replied to dragmodels44's topic in Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
Thank you. It really is, but I've been building since I was a kid and as happy as I was with it, I'm in awe when I see some of the build on this site! I didn't know that history of the truck. I'd read that they planned a s cond movie where the driver survived and he would be played by Robert Shaw, but I guess they never did. -

Thanks for the suggestion. I tried that first and it actually looked wet but when I looked at pics of the truck again it looked like I applied it on too wet! So I don't know. but thanks as I'm trying another weathering project. -

Hey, thanks! It was definitely a challenge, but it was fun to do. Believe it or not one of the hardest things was replicating the mirrors. If you look at the 1:1 truck they're mounted differently -

Thanks, I appreciate the feedback. It was a change from my normal builds. The tanker was the real challenge. I did as much research as I could on the real truck before I started. I seem to want to build something out of the ordinary. My next challenge has been trying to locate a set of Gapp and Roush pinto pro stock decals! -

Just wanted. To show a pic of the evil truck from the movie duel that I did. This was my first truck model and first at weathering. I'm usually doing drag, movies, muscle cars. Just wanted to share a few pics. The Cars are what I usually do.
