  1. Hey guys, just started another Sox and Martin Cuda...in 1/24. ( I know there's so many builds of this car. I'm going to make these as detailed as I can, along with the Prudohmme Monza. I knew if I did the 1/24 scale I'd have to scratch build the scoop, but I wanted to give it a try. After 2 days using sheet plastic I'm happy with the results. I also filled in the side fins (gills) and side marker lights and removed the trim moldings at the bottom and molded in hood pins. I ordered photo etched and resin for the Cuda and Monza. Here's the first pics.
  2. Your welcome pal.
  3. Thank you and thanks for your help!
  4. Hey guys, just started the Prudohmme Army Monza, 1/25. I found one on eBay and got the decals from Chris' friend, Chuck. After that unbelievable 1/16 car, I was inspired to start this one. So far I've molded in the nose and quarter windows and cleaned up the underside.
  5. Nice job man! Just started Snake's Army Monza!
  6. Very, very nice! How'd u do the double magnetos?
  7. Looks great! I have a pic of the Milano concept at the 1970 Chicago auto show that my parents took and gave to me
  8. Hey guys, wanted to share this update of the Motown missile that I started. When I started it I was just going to do a quick shelf model even though it's a 70 body. After thinking about it I decided to do it as a correct 72 and add some good detail. The problem was I didn't want to mess up the body as it came out pretty nice, but I decided to correct it anyway. ( always have to do it the hard way ) Here's the rear 70 panel removed and repaired. I received the comp resins 72 P/S body and was only going to swap out the rear panel but I'm also swapping out the front panel into the 70 body. I also have to trim the sides of the resin hood as it's too wide for the 70 kit.
  9. Hi espo, I used the amt 68 Z/28 camaro as the base for the kit. I pirated the 69 Z/28 hood and an older street rod kit for the wheels and tires. Here's a pic of the model I did first, but sold it. Luckily I saved the photos.
  10. Hey MM, That's awesome that you were actually in THE car.
  11. Hey guys, does anyone remember the movie " Aloha Bobby and Rose " from, I believe 1975. Everyone remembers John Milner from American Graffiti, but he did this movie which didn't get a lot of attention, especially during a time when the blockbuster movies were all the catastrophe movies. Earthquake, the Towering Inferno, etc... he plays a mechanic who has this hot rod camaro and goes out every night for a good time. It was shot in CA and there's some cool vintage big name drag races at the drag strip where he races the camaro. I actually got the chance to talk to him when I was researching the car when I originally built in in 2000. The car was basically a full blown SCCA race car that they made drivable for the movie. It had a full rollcage that he had to climb around getting in and out, and the clutch was very touchy and he complained about it. Anyway, I regretted selling it and wanted to do it again for my movie/tv car collection. I didn't replicate the flares as I did on the first one because I hand formed them and just ommited them this time, so it's not 100% correct, but still captures the feel of it.
  12. Wow awesome diorama!
  13. Hey thanks MM. Here's an update, just painted decaled and cleared it. Wanted to do it all out of the can. It's not correct but I used a glitter candy clear. All enamels. It actually looks ok. I ordered the correct wheels from slixx to replace the kit wheels.
  14. Thanks for the kind words! The Cuda has slixx decals and you're right about the cougar! Hopefully it'll look better when it's done!
  15. Hey guys, new project, I found this in a train hobby store today. I got the inspiration from mooneyzs awesome Prudohhme 1/16 F/C. the plan is box stock, I've only done one other 1/16 model. The pic shows 3 sets of 1/16 funny car slicks. From left to right, the kit slicks, comp resins and the slicks from the Hawaiian kit which are actually the wider set! I sealed the kit decals as I'm not sure how they'd hold up. More to follow...
  16. Thanks, glad u like them ?
  17. Hey guys, here's the Daytona, Ford GT 40, 289 AC and GT 40 test car. That's my Ford racing sports car collection.
  18. Thanks! They're going to get moderate detail. It was more to fill some gaps in my drag collection.
  19. Just started these two. Neither are perfect, the Cuda has the wrong hood ( I used the Sox Martin kit ) and the Shartman Cougar I had to redo it as I found the right decals after I cleared it! I gave up looking for that Boss 429 scoop that looks like it's on steroids, and ended up using the Boss 429 hood scoop. I don't think anyone ever did the Shartman Cougar decals anyway. Notice there's no "cougar"on the quarter panel. It's just one of those early 70s drag cars that I liked. The Motown I decaled after I cleared it where usually I seal them under clear. I just thought it'd look good as is.
  20. Hey thanks! I remember the brochure showing the paint chip code cuda and there was a pro stock driver, Lee Smith who drove a cuda called crazee cuda which was silver and featured all the hi impact colors. GMP did that car in 2003. After seeing a pic of it I decided to give it a try.
  21. Cool diorama!
  22. Thanks again guys. ?
  23. Thanks guys, I've seen breathtaking models on this site, so I am humbled by all the great comments. Thanks.
