  1. cool!
  2. Beautiful! I've always wanted to build this. Are the green parts all decals?
  3. The stance is perfect!
  4. Absolutely gorgeous.
  5. A build like this is what I love about modeling. You can see something you like and recreate it with your own hands. Also I love Damon Albarn; I saw the last Blur tour of the U.S. and it was a great performance.
  6. Your trim painting makes this very good!
  7. Beautiful! I was just about to chop the fenders off of my Monogram '32 kit, but now I want to paint it green and duplicate this!
  8. Cool!
  9. It definitely has green in it. I'm building a different model with Testors light blue right now, and the two colors look weird next to each other.
  10. Good tip! Sometimes I toss old rattle cans when they are close to empty, but yes I should save this for that purpose. I have many more Fords in my building plans for this year too.
  11. Thank you! Yes, I like cars from all eras and all styles, so this forum appeals to me.
  12. You can't beat blue on a Corvette! Very nice!
  13. Cool! One of my best friends is from Shakopee. Supervalu owns Cub Foods, but I believe their whole company is having a hard time now.
  14. This thread makes me giddy with happiness. I thought I had too many unbuilt kits, but now I see the light!!!
  15. Wow this is great! It is very nicely built. This is the Revell Germany kit?
  16. The suspension is fiddly! You really can't start gluing until it is all placed together, but then you have to glue about 6 spots at once.
  17. Yes in modern F1, the regulations require a very narrow wheelbase that now looks awkward, and the designers have actually become "too smart" in the wind tunnel. Oh well.
  18. Thanks for the encouragement! Yes my LHS has Tamiya fine white primer, so I'll be using that.
  19. Thanks for the nice words! If I take the Subaru apart to paint the trim, I might apply all the decals and paint the wheels gold to match the box. We'll see.
  20. Cool!
  21. I have owned this kit for a long time. I bought it in London, England on vacation with my wife when we were still dating. I made her take the Tube way out of the tourist areas to a hobby shop! I believe I carried it on my lap across the Atlantic. It has a cool JDM interior. I am using wheels from the Hasegawa Subaru Legacy. I am painting it with Tamiya Camel Yellow. However, I did not realize how important it is to use primer with Tamiya spray paint, and I majorly screwed it up. I was really happy to read on this site about paint stripping procedures. I used Dawn Power Dissolver, and now I have a nice fresh body to start over with. I plan to use Tamiya primer and do it correctly, sticking with my Camel Yellow plan. That body was covered in nastiness, and now it is perfect again.
  22. Since I just joined I figured I would post pictures of my favorite model, the Tamiya Jordan 191. I have always loved the weird 7up livery, and the Testors rattle can green is a good match. I built this in 2001 I believe. The engine is correctly painted, but I didn't do any detailing, so I didn't take any pictures of that. The light green and the blue are all decals, so you don't even need to do any masking or other painting. Current F1 cars are ugly, but I personally believe the late '80s and early '90s was the best period for them. The regulations allowed a super wide wheelbase, and windtunnels shaped the smooth forms. Here are bonus shots of the Tamiya Subaru WRC I built around the same time. I don't like the livery, so I left off the decals and considered it in "testing phase" before the rally season began. I also didn't paint the complete window trim. Now that I've read the window trim tutorials on this site, I am considering popping off the body and the glass and doing it.
