Enzo Ferrari Would Have Been Proud!

Wow 70 people have looked at this and not one can say anything about this?! Very disheartening. -
###### nice job there. I have been leary of acquiring this kit as I am not completely in love with the real car. But, I broke down yesterday and bought one for the HEMI. I think that I am now wanting to build this one. Your paint looks astonishing as usual. I love the overspray under the body like the real car would have. Looks superb!

This looks so incredible! I love the build and I am sure that Jairrus does as well. You really are capturing the essence of the drawing. I tend to not like these builds, but this really has gotten me into the idea of building one for myself. I guess my parts box would consist of an ENZO v12, 20" Ordens, a chassis from a Jeep, lol, and the do-dads from every other modern car I have laying around. I think I might need to pick up some of these older kits and try though. You really have inspired me to try one of these. Looks fantastic!

60th - F430 Challenge - Not comp: Street Version - Finally Finished!!!!!

I am strictly a Tamiya builder, but I can honestly say that the Fujimi was a nice build. Make sure that the one you get a hold of is a Challenge. If you have that, then here is where I got the PE set for it. Awesome set and well worth the money! http://www.hiroboy.com/catalog/product_inf...products_id=756 -
That is one detailed engine you have there! I love it all, and especially the tire burn on the right rear. Great model!

I feel like I got in trouble, lol. I shut up........

Jeep CJ to TJ COnversion (lots of modding!).

Hey Jake, I am indeed adding a front track bar, tie rod, and custom hubs. This baby is going to turn as well! The kit is a Rubicon Express 5.5 LA Kit. There are of course artistic liberties, but I have followed their kit explicitly so far. -
Kully?! I am confused. Rim choice #1 comes with an additional lip and that was my first choice as well. I will be extending the axle and front hubs to fit it better, but I do indeed think a deep lip is needed. Thanks for looking all of you!

Wow, very ambitious build here. I was perusing that issue yesterday and was ogling over it. I was immediately drawn to the welded doors which I just saw you tackle. My only thought would be that the doors were obviously welded on after there was (some form of) paint. The welds do look rather large though. Do you think maybe a larger strip of Styrene would be more effective? Just wondering, and I will be following closely.

Love the color choice. That has always been a great color on the 40th ZR-1. I may have missed it, but wheels are you going ot use?
-
Well, the SLR is going to be another undertaking. I have this problem with buying everything possible for every model I own. I can not ever seem to do an OOB build. That one is going to take some time. I have like 4 others that will be before it. Well, maybe I should do the SLR, who knows.

###### nice work there!!! I really like the Beetle work you have there. What kit is that anyway?
-
Here are the laughable stock wheels and tires. I am definitely not using these. In fact, I might throw them away as I can never see myself using them. So, here are my options. Please tell me what rims you like the best. 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. I like 1, 2, and 6 as what I want. But, I need opinions please. So, this is the start of a killer Mustang that I would like in real life. Hopefully you all like it. Jon For Fun - I am up to around 50 un built kits now, ###### this hobby is so addictive.
-
So I completed the hood and I think it looks serious! LOL Then I decided long and hard on what I wanted the body to be like. I have always liked wide body Mustangs, so I needed to try my own attempt. I extended the flares with Styrene and then used small pieces to fill the curve. I like doing this better than just putty as this is stronger. I also added a skirt extension to later add the width to the body. I then filled in the third brake light and the bumper. This is a street machine, but I want a showroom build. I am going to use the second wing pictured and modify the sides of it.
-
First off, I needed a hood that meant business. So, I decided after a few drawings that I wanted a massive hood scoop. I almost did cowl induction, but this was the desired approach. Then I wanted to shave the door handles and fill in the rear side windows. I like the ideas of Shelby’s GT 500’s from long ago. I filled them and will later add scoops.
-
Ok, so here goes another one that I have been wanting to do for a long time. I hated the new Mustangs when they came out, but now it is one of my favorite cars period. I really think Ford got it right and the after market makes them even better. I love the Roush/Shelby/Cevini’s, all of the after market companies different approaches. But, I want to build my own in the way I would want it. So, I snagged the Revell kit and was off. Here is what it looks like box stock and dry-fitted.
-
I also completed the diffuser after I made it realistic. After paint I noticed there was not a nice transition, so I stripped them and fixed them, again. I also finished the rear hatch cover. This one took a long time and once again, primer showed what was wrong. It is almost ready for another coat and paint. And here is the console after all of that work and paint. I am happy with it so now comes the CF. I will re-add the pin heads and paint them as well. So, not a lot of progress, but a heck of a lot of time to get to this point. Hope you all like it. Jon

This is where they are today. I am glad I decided to do this. In all, I have spent about 50 plus hours on the seats!!! Here are the wheels. I was so happy with them then I noticed that one of them got a bit of crazing and bubbling from the weather at the time. So I will strip these and start over. At least you all can see what they will look like. I also added valve stems as well.
-
Here is the body after its first coat of primer. Like it is intended to do, the primer exposed a ton of issues. So I marked them and fixed them. Next will be another primer coat. Now for a personal problem. I spent so many hours on the seats that I was content. It was mentioned to me that I needed to make them more accurate. The real seats have a lip to them and not a round contour on the sides. So, I decided to strip them bare and start over.
-
Ok, there has been slow progress on this one. I have lost the steam for it as it never goes any further. But then again, I have not been devoting too much time to it. Here is the center console getting re-worked. Like everything mentioned before, the MSM kit is very poorly executed. So I had to cut it apart and widen everything. Here is a very bad picture, sorry. But, you can see where I sued pin heads of different sizes to get the console buttons accurately depicted. Along with the console I added the magazine net in the back. I later thinned it down to make it smaller.

Jeep CJ to TJ COnversion (lots of modding!).

Here is what the ride height should be (about). Remember the small tires, lol?! Here is the body and the hood. I am about 40% there, lol. Well, I am all about this one right now. The 360 CS, and the new Mustang are kind of being built. I want to focus on this one. I have to build complete custom bumpers, a custom roll cage, and a custom interior with new seats. I also need to finish the grill which will be hard. Well, what do you all think? Jon -

Enzoenvy1 replied to Enzoenvy1's topic in WIP: Model Cars
Here is basically what made up the rear axle. This is the front before 6 hours of work, lol. The tabs explain themselves. This should give an idea of what is to come. Obviously the stock tires are really small. Actually they are about 28" tires I think. So, I broke down and bought a Blue Fin Toyota with the TSL Swampers. In real life I would never choose these tires as they are not the best. But then again, they would be better than what is on my Jeep now. Anyhow, they seem to measure out to about 35" (I am guessing here). Here is the front axle attached to the chassis. This one was much more tough as there are not 4 links rising to the frame. Rubicon Express uses smaller links that tie into the main arms up front. In real life they have Heim Joints that flex. I cannot make those, but the slack I engineered into the joints allows movement. Here she is!!!! -

The track bar is the vertical piece from the axle to the chassis. It is not straight and you can see what I mean. Look at how straight the final product is. The track bar tucks up just like a real setup. I am so happy how this all came out. And, it will indeed flex. These pictures show very little flex, but I got both axles to flex at about 35 degrees opposite of eachothers axis. For a clearer understanding, from behind the front and rear axles look like a big X from behind when flexed out.
