  1. Very Cool Idea! ''DONT USE TOO MUCH GLUE KID-OR IT'LL BE SMEARSVILLE'' - ED ''BIG DADDY'' ROTH
  2. Has anyone built one of these? heres some pics from www.
  3. Say- what scale is this? great job on the patina! Fred looks like he's groaning''im coming Elizabeth''!!
  4. I have a few of these built that I want to re-do.will take a lot of added detail in this scale to be a nice model.heres a few pics that were found on line. it is the largest scale model of a Duesy ever produced for sale.
  5. heres a few ive done..........the main objective is to have FUN....
  6. nothing looks as cool on a junker or nostalgia rod as a good set of stocker type steel wheels. I have had real good luck casting my own in resin and the details of the wheel are about perfect. I used AMTs 1/16 64.5 Mustang for an original wheel and Firestone tire. about the right size for a rod or 1/18 pickup.
  7. OUTSTANDING from all sides-you are a true craftsman! and nice work on the cowl vent
  8. Super sharp- great color - amazing how good a diecast can look.
  9. heres my abandoned Corvette- too bad this nice 57 was smacked hard in the rear-tore the whole deck area off! car is 1/16 MPC
  10. Hi Andy-I have a 1/1 1948 F-1-but its a pickup- I remember seeing a factory F-1 stake bed like this in Salinas back in 1977-the whole truck painted gold! it had the FORD script bed. thats the only one ive ever seen.I think ford offered the stake in the F100 series up till the late 60's.
  11. how to make this car look better in a hurry-put some more authentic wheels on it!
  12. haveing some fun with hotwheels 32 3 window and roadster.diecast
  13. modified from a pickup- Ford actually offered these as can be seen in the dealers catalog image.
  14. bed and chassis modified from hwy 61 46 chev stake bed 1/16. rest scratch built.
  15. beautiful paint job -I like that shade of green. .also nice detail paint on window mouldings. Province Moulage did a trans kit for the 1/18 BBurago E type roadster years ago in resin- I ordered it and converted the roadster into the Cunningham team Le-Mans car. it is supposed to be a lightweight E type 1964-decals also came with the trans kit.
  16. yes this car needed your touch-much nicer-heres a silver one I detailed out
  17. I BUILT THIS CAR ABOUT 20 YEARS AGO-it is still holding up well
  18. thanks Chuck- I have admired your work for years-especially Modelers Annual features. I could figure out how to build OLD 16- but not how to post the photos!!!! and Richard-for a bio on the car and kits that were available check out the big boys post. Frank S.
  19. to see the build on this car go to fotki -look up member f1ford49 and album OLD 16. scratch built in 1/16 scale.
  20. some guy made a 1/25 scale stocker too. he did a great job. these were both custom builds-no trans kits available. heres the 1/25 version
  21. the holes along the top mouldings on the doors are for the side curtins -as per the real car. no roll up windows on phaetons in 1934.
  22. the Phaeton was built back to stock.lots of scratchbuilding including a complete interior and dash. the flathead and wheels from 1/18 diecast donors.tires from AMTs 64 Mustang. axles from the Entex model A. the coupe is almost box stock with the exception of steelies-also from entex Model A kit. I would like to ''unchop'' one of these and build it stock like the Phaeton.
  23. yes the ''Americar''was on it-just took some dark blue paint to get it to stand out a bit more.also black washed the grill-theres all sorts of little tricks that can be done to make these 1/18 cars look better.
  24. thank you guys-yes the realism is what its all about. to Scott Kobus-the paint I have used is called modern masters metal effects iron paint www.modernmastersinc.com is pretty much non toxic FS
  25. so-what scale is this?
