  1. Absolutely, extremely gorgeous!!! That my friend is one beautiful Traditional '40 built with love, and passion. A true piece of art. I do however think the rear nerf bars are a tad bit to long, but that's the only thing I see. The radiator is stunning, the detail is stellar. and the whole build is just perfect!!! What did you use to replicate the Merc caps?
  2. Well, I switched back to the new version, and I know change is always supposed to be good, but I still don't like it. It's boring ugly, and it takes longer to load pics on the forum. I'm sure I'll get used to it, and will be running it with my eyes closed just like the old version........Then they'll change it again........ You might want to get yours changed soon to lock in more storage!

    Alternomad II

Yeah buddy!!! That came out great Bob. The whole package is too sweet.
  4. Another very nice build Rod, great detail, and everything!!! I'm still stuck on your Doane Spencer Tribute, that one yanks my chain.
  5. I hated the new version, and switched back, didn't know 'til now we were going to be forced to use the new one. Oh how I hate change sometimes....
  6. Not really my cup of tea, but a really nice build!!! Nice job!!!
  7. That car is, well.........SEXY!!! Very nice build!!! Loved the bus humor, worked for me....
  8. Extremely nice build!!!
  9. You really are crazy huh Rich? Your hotrod came out, well.......Crazy Great!!! Like it!
  10. I just realized I didn't thank you ALL for the great replies on this build for Jay......THANK YOU, each, and every one of ya!!! This was a real slump buster after an almost two year slump, and it sure feels good to be back at the bench. Right now I'm getting the pleasure to build a couple minty Monogram kits from 1964, the Little T, and Blue Beetle, both for another friend back east. This car should be in New York now, and in Jays hands tomorrow! Thanks again fellas!
  11. Thanks guys, glad ya like 'em!!!
  12. I'll say it too.....Awesome!!! Great eye candy for sure.

    Amt 62 Chevy

Beautiful build Carl!!! I can't believe you didn't polish it, it looks perfect in enamel!!!
  15. Very nice Sam, love the continental spare!
  16. Sorry Chris, the wheels I used are not in the kit. I used the Cragars from an AMT '64 El Camino/wagon (same kits basically) on the purple buggy, and the Americans are modified parts box finds. Thanks for the compliments guys!!!
  17. Looks like the ultimate man cave!!! Love the slot car track.
  18. That is just beautiful Rod!!! Welcome aboard.
  19. Very nice work Rich, and a nice tribute to a fallen mate! I think a laid back Duvall windshield would look perfect on one.
  20. Got these finished up! I remember when these kits hit the shelves back in the day, molded in bright yellow, it's great to see them back. I built these a little differently than most, I built them the way I thought a couple friends would have built real ones back in the mid sixties. The first one is VW powered, and pretty flashy, the other is kind of a mild sleeper as it runs a turbo'd Corvair engine (from the AMT parts pak) This is a great kit, needs a little tweaking here and there, but still a fun kit, and yeah, AMT got the front seats a little small, and the headlights a little big, but still nice to have back.
  21. Looks great!!! Nicely built.
  22. Here's a couple shots of them together.
  23. Finally got the helmet repainted on the stock version, so I thought I'd show these here. Built both RB's back in 2010 for the "Fools with no rules" online contest on the Showrod forum. The stock version was built in 2 1/2 days after I finished the modified version. These kits are pretty simple, and the only problem I had was the red plastic on this one. I think the kits I used were from '94, and '98, one was in a dark red plastic, the other was in a soft lighter red plastic (this one) as soon as I shot the clear......bang.....bleed through. It was fixed using a tip from this forum!!! The modified version took a little longer, and was built with the thought "What if Tom Daniel would have designed this when he was doing his wide tire creations". I chopped the surfer helmet 1/4", two 1/8" slices were removed at places where everything would work with the stock body. The rear suspension was lowered, and several bits were scratched.
  24. I'm a huge fan of black-n-orange, so this really gets me going!!! Beautiful build, but wondering why you didn't carry the black around the tailgate?
  25. Looks like it needs a bath..... Great build, now you need a tow vehicle!!!
