  1. thanks for the correx jairus, i knew there was some show with a faux ferrari on it.
  2. wasnt the "magnum" one styled after the one on said tv show which wasnt a ferrari at all but instead some kind of kit car abortion? i may be confused on that point but i had alway heard the model didnt resemble any real ferrari but more an amalgamation of different models with some rather loose interpretations thrown in for good measure.
  3. yes i love that cinamon color too, makes my mouth water! im going to have to try some on a suitable project...
  4. cool! im working on a garage defend silvia at the moment, will post some pics when real progress is made. one question: is that out of box ride height or did you lower it? if you lowered it, how did you do it? i believe the one im building is fujimi but i dont have it in front of me to confirm...it looks like it sits higher than yours out of the box
  5. wow! i would consider flying over to sydney just to race on those!
  6. >anyone have any idea where this body came from? answering my own question here... turns out its from a fairly obscure 60s company called Bergman. anyone remember them? i think this maserati and a ferrari were its sole products. im currently after a MOC maserati on ebay so PLEASE dont bid against me even if just to see just how foolish a bid i put in on it because I REALLY WANT A MINT ONE!
  7. >Bill's Jag pictures can be seen by clicking on the Fotki link ok. now tell me those are pics of a real d-type. theyre not? huh. excuse me for a minute while i go hide my attempt at the model.
  8. from the look of those side hood panels i would guess baby blue. on the hood panels: those louvers...do they look like they can be sanded down on the back to get some see-thru louvers to use elsewhere?
  9. thanks mr obsessive, i would like a copy so if someone could pm me (or just post here) details on getting one i would appreciate it. im on the west coast so i dont think its appropriate to join the club though i sure wish we had something as well organized here in sacramento by the way i love the xk-ss you use for your sig. nice detail work! ive done that model too but not to as high a standard. would you care to post some more photos?
  10. caterham seven: lotus seven, series 2: hope that helps.
  11. whats "classic plastic" and how do i get a copy?
  12. ah i wouldnt worry about it. personally i check the obits every morning to see if i need to go to work that day.
  13. oops sorry for the second post
  14. another cool one jarius! you still paint on the inside of the body? ive found that doesnt really suit me, kind of looks funny with a 2" scale clear coat and i never could get the proper finish, plus it seems like all my clear bodies have yellowed with age. also details seem to be more crisp if painted on outside. but it doesnt seem like you got any of those issues here, great looking paint job!
  15. nice heat staining on the pipes!
  16. dont mean to sidetrack the conversation but scalekraft is dead? if so, thats a shame. i got some muy cool resin bodies from them including a mini traveller, a mini fastback (i forgot who did the conversion, speedwell?), a nice d-type jaguar and a bunch of other cool stuff including an abarth porsche. i was hoping to order some more from them one of these days. say it aint so!
  17. gotcha. gotta try this on my next project.
  18. this one: i can supply much better and larger photos if interested.
  19. thanks for the reply. did you happen to see the morris swing a ling mobile record shack i posted over in the trucks area (i think)? are you up for some hand lettering in 1/24 scale? let me know if you are. i know i sure cant do it. i need an artist!
  20. why do you polish it twice, once after primer and then again after the final paint? why not just do it once after the final paint? is it to keep the paint thickness relatively thin and so not disturb the foil too much?
  21. nice stuff! i was afraid this forum was on its way out since no one is posting much in here but youve revived it! so you hot rod the motor too? is this built to run on commercial tracks? do you think the owner will actually run it or just display it? i take it it is 1/25 scale and not 1/32? just out of curiosity how much do you charge to build something like this? its a very fine product! you can email me privately with a cost if you like justw @ dgweb . com many thanks and thanks for sharing a great build!
  22. thanks for the comments art, i figured you would like to see it because i cant say as ive ever heard of anyone else actually building it. ps: wish i had another GT body because i would love to build another but this time make it a rally version!
  23. one more try...it seems art anderson isnt interested!
  24. its been a long time since i used hlj because i know an importer in san francisco but i had nothing but a positive experience from my dealings with scott. i would recommend them without reservation
  25. >looks like you sanded it with 100 grit you misspelled "100,000 grit"
