I've had four kits come in this week and have three more on the way, then I went and bought a lot of ten MORE kits off eBay last night. This will give me over eighty kits total, all since January. Not to mention the resin stuff I've bought. And the spare engines, tires and wheels. Where does it end? Dale

I'm off-the-hook on the BMF. Sarge says he wants it the way it is. Luckiliy I hadn't popped the glass yet. My next one on the bench is a buddy's '67 GTO. It has to have the foil because of the rockers, so I watched Cranky and Donn Yost last night. Man oh man. A little more study and I'll give her a whirl. Thanks for the push Harry. Dale

Is This For Real?
Dale W. Verts replied to Dale W. Verts's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
G- Sho' 'nuff. As long as you can go 6.499999 million. I'm a little short this week. I'll catch up with you later. Promise. The older I get the less time I have for nonsense. Just ask my poor kids. It's like those eBay auctions for run-of-the-mill $20 model cars, and they have the Buy It Now at $129.99. And there's LOTS of those auctions. What are they trying to accomplish? Dale -
A few things I've learned in my relatively young fifty years- There is ALWAYS somebody, Faster Stronger Better lookin' With more money Has a better lookin' gal And there will also always be a pile of folks who can play a gee-tar better than me. Once I got over all that life got better. At one time I had to be the best at everything I did. I almost made it there on several occasions, and it may have made me a better person for it. But being that driven took a lot of fun out of my endeavors. Thank goodness I've seen the light. Dale

Excellent work. I'm really enjoyin' this. Dale

I had a stroke four years ago at just 46 years-of-age. A minor stroke but still, EVERYTHING changed. All my motor skills are a little weird now, and my guitar playin' is a problem. Anyway, I don't mess too much with finite detail items if I'm tired. I do my best model car stuff (and pickin' music) in the mornings, just the opposite of what I used to do. Patience is everything, too. Deep breaths. Dale

Lookin' for license plates. And this kit comes with spindled and turnable wheels, but no tie-rod... He said just leave it alone. Okay- I'll make it my first foil project. But I'm holdin' ya'll responsible. Well, probably not. Dale

Yep, I knew that. But these builds are not supposed to be replicas- they're exactly what my buddies want, or at least as close as I can get them. This Roadrunner is mimicking a car my buddy had in the mid-70's and wishes he had back. The interior is also red & white- the same as Sarges' was. Dale

Excellent sir! Just the kind of info I needed. I used to be able to free-hand anything with a brush. But a stroke four years ago has change my talent-grade some, and bad brushes are killin' my work. Thanks a bunch! Dale

I'm not a fan of the "middle years" 'vettes... But Lordy, that thing looks very, very mean. I mean, like WOW! Dale

1967 corvette. for leukemia patient, done
Dale W. Verts replied to goodwin3224's topic in WIP: Model Cars
Really neat- good for you. Blue just never seemed to be a 'vette color. However, I like blue- and this sucker wears it very well. Dale -
I know Harry. Just got my first BMF in today... But this guy's a FRIEND of mine! Dale

I'm building cars for several of my friends- their "dream-rod" if they could own one. Luckily my friends are not too picky! But I figured this was a good way to build up my talents. This '68 Roadrunner is out-of-box except for a tire change to 50's and 70's instead of the 60's that came with the kit. This thing is not quite complete but it just worked out that I put it on the site now. I'm gonna do a light wash to dull the chrome, and the front running lights are lacking color. Still, this was fun. One down, six to go. I learn every time I work on one of these things, for sure. Thanks for lookin'. Dale
